^^E10 is from Shell and some other small gas companies like Seaoil has them. Pero among BIG 3 its only Shell who has it. Basically its a 90% unleaded gas and 10% ethanol mixture and its P2/L cheaper. I have already tried E10 on Civic FD as well, immediate consequence is the lack of acceleration is quite apparent. Kung baga, I need to step a bit harder to get the same acceleration I get from regular unleaded. And at least for me, others have different experience, my fuel economy suffered as well with E10. So I still use regular unleaded. You don't really need to use XCS for your Civic since nakalagay naman sa manual 91 RON ang requirement, regular unleaded is already 93 RON so it should be sufficient. Its just a waste of money to use higher octane gas like XCS, Gold, or V-Power for the Civic FD.

Iba iba mavsn, dati when gas prices were stable I use Petron, Caltex and Shell basta ano malapit normally Petron kasi may credit card discount ako. Pero nung nag-start magkaroon ng P1.50 increase weekly sa mga small unknown gas stations (Cityoil, rarely Jetti) lang ako kasi mas mura kaysa BIG 3.

Regular Unleaded is the one with 93RON. Petron calls it Xtra Unleaded, Caltex calls it Silver, and Shell calls it Super Unleaded. Basta sabihin mo lang sa boy na regular unleaded alam na nila yun...

    Petron is now selling E10.

Zero-tariff on oil, new Petron product may lead to cheaper pump prices
    06/16/2008 | 04:04 PM

MANILA, Philippines- A new product from the country's largest oil firm, and the renewal of the zero-tariff on imported fuel, has the potential to ease oil prices by P3.50 in the coming weeks.

Petron Corp., the country’s largest oil refiner, formally introduced on Monday its ethanol blended gasoline, which is P2 per liter cheaper than regular gasoline.

At the launch of Petron's E10 Premium, Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes said Petron’s new product will not only be environment-friendly but will be a welcome development amid the continuing increase in the country’s pump prices as this will be cheaper

Aside from the P2 per liter drop in gasoline prices from Petron gas stations, the DOE is also set to certify anew a zero-percent tariff cut on imported crude oil which will result in a P1.50 per liter reduction in diesel prices by July 1.

To be able to offer the ethanol blend, Petron imported 38,000 liters of ethanol from Brazil since production of the biofuel in the Philippines has yet to start.

E10 Premium will be offered in the following Metro Manila stations: Visayas Avenue , Quezon City ; Marcos Hi-way (Westbound), Pasig City ; Marcos Hi-way (Eastbound), Pasig City ; A. Santos Ave , Paranaque ; San Marcelino Paco Manila; Quezon Avenue , Quezon City ; Osmena Hi-way. Makati ; Shaw Blvd. , Pasig City; Macapagal Ave. , Pasay City; West Service Road, Paranaque; Circumferential Road, Antipolo; FB Harrison, Manila; Boni Ave,. Mandaluyong; and Ortigas Extension, Taytay Rizal

By the end of this year or early next year, Petron would likely source its ethanol blend requirements from the local market, the company said.

Petron chairman Nicasio Alcantara said San Carlos Bioenergy Inc. will start supplying the oil company’s ethanol requirement. San Carlos and Petron have a 10-year exclusive supply contract of ethanol.

Alcantara said they are also negotiating with Leyte-Agri Corp. for a supply of nine million liters.

“The early introduction of Petron E10 Premium ahead of the government’s mandate is part of our efforts to promote the use of environment-friendly alternative fuels that can be produced locally. Once available in the country, the use of ethanol as an additive to gasoline will lessen our dependence on imported oil," Alcantara said.

Petron E10 Premium may be used in majority of fuel-injected vehicles, whether old or new. It can be used without the need for expensive engine modification. Before filling up with E-10 Premium, however, it is advisable to refer to your car manual or to consult with your car dealer. - GMANews.TV
But if it is only 2 pesos cheaper than unleaded, then its only 3.5% cheaper.

Yeah its the same bannana. But at least Petron is complying with the alternative fuel law, autogas, biodiesel and e10. So among the big 3 its only caltex that isnt selling e10.

To all the gurus of the forum,

I wonder what will happen if shell e10 is loaded to a 1987 lancer? Is that compatible? Would that be advisable or would it be catastrophic? Am sure there are a lot of carbon desposits by now.

this i would not strongly recommend. and i don't think its compatible. and besides, hoses could be brittle already which can be made worse by the alcohol content.

ah di naman ganun ka old...1999 mazda familia...

also tried Petrons E10 ( magkatabi kasi Shell and Petron na may E10 where i gas up ) so namimili ako...filled her up at P700 * P56.70 = 12.34 liters...

used the car city driving and uphill to antipolo everyday...ran 124.2km before my needle tumapat sa empty = 124.2/12.34 =10.06km/l

and yes its not the proper way to test your fuel consumption with fill the tank, use it, count the km ran, fill her up, count the no of liters or fuel consumed then divide way...

again its my own way of measuring my fuel consumption...

    Petron E10 and Shell E10?
Sa akin sa unleaded naman (Petron Unleaded and Shell Unleaded), mas rough din ang takbo ng Petron Unleaded. I have not tried Petron E10 though.

Naku, it is a good thing I did my research here first. Thank you po for the input!

With our exchanges on the performance of e10, I am not that convinced to load the 1997 lancer glxi A/T we are using with e10 (I am loading it with Shell unleaded which seems to be getting better reviews than Petron).

Incidentally, is it normal to smell gas after parking? When I go around the car after I have parked, I usually smell gas, particularly from the side of the gas tank. The rubber of the cover is still OK. Could it be a leak in the hoses? But there are no visible leaks. Hmmmm. I wonder if this could be a factor kaya 6-7km/liter lang ang FC nito. Come to think of it, about a week after loading full tank, medyo faint na ang smell.
