How is the sound of the engine and vibration of the D4d? Tumawag kasi sa kin yun dealer and told me marerelease daw next month kung diesel daw kukunin ko. The level of noise, though, is lower than my Dad's Nissan Patrol Safari. But, as you gain speed (about 60kph), the noise diminishes. For the 3.0V, you'll feel a sudden burst of power between 80-90kph (I think it's the turbo kicking-in). By then, the noise level goes down and you won't be able to tell that you're driving a diesel engine.

I previously own a gen2.5 pajero kasi and am bothered by the vibration and sound of engine during traffic. You'll be surprised to see that there is very minimal vibration compared to your gen 2.5 Pajero.

And how is the acceleration? speed? I read your skyway incident kasi. do you think it can go faster than 140kph? For it's size, the Fortuner offer's great acceleration (that's from my experience). I haven't really tried it against any other diesel SUV of comparable size. The skyway incident with the Alterra wasn't really planned (and is something that I wouldn't recommend you doing). I believe hyperev was able to bring his 3.0V up to 180kph. I guess we should ask him how the engine sounded at that speed.

By the way pag D4d what is your PMS??? every 10k?or every 5k? The recommended schedule is every 5K. So, I guess I'll just follow the recommended schedule.

I think they took that photo right after they reset the MID, The MID is still trying to set correct the right km/l after reseting. sometimes it will go up, sometimes down. but after a few kilometers it will settle down to your average driving habits.

by the way, I just put a full thank again, my actual computation is 6.15 km/l, The MID registered at 6.8 km/l

Topped-up my 3.0V yesterday... Got 7.57km/li, while my MID registered 7.6km/li. That's quite close, don't you think?

I always reset my MID at the very moment the attendant closes the tank. I guess that contributes to the closeness of the MID reading to the actual.

I plan to see if I can manage my consumption with the MID... I hope to bring-up my mileage per liter.

Just had my Fortuner serviced at Toyota Makati for the first 1,000 km check-up. I was there at 7am and got my car back around 9am. Spent around P1,280.00 for the oil change and oil filter. Labor was free.

Hmmm... In my case, I always tell the attendant to top it off... Sagad... Less air in the tank, less moisture in the fuel kasi... Lalo, ngayong mataas ang humidity level with the rainy season.

Sure! That's a great idea... So, we can see how many more owners we are expecting.

We can maintain 2 lists. A list for current owners and a list for prospective owners. As we cross-out names in the latter list, we add that name to the former list. Would you care to start-off the list?
