Hmmm... From my understanding, you really don't need to shift to 3 when overtaking with your A/T Fortuner, lalo kung level ka.

For the D4-D models, you've good torque at a wide range of RPM. In addition, when you need extra power, the turbo will kick-in to give you that added boost to overtake a slow-moving car in front of you.

I'm not so sure about the VVTi lang... But, my colleague swears by the power of his 2.7G in overtaking along the NLEX. And, he says he just stayed in D.

Totally agree! "D" lang ako palagi. I just shift to 3 during long drives tapos your on one of those long, winding, 2-lane, 2-way roads with lots of tricycles. Putting it in 3 saves me the time and trouble of having to floor the accelerator (specially when your on overtaking a series of vehicles). Kasi if I keep it in D, when I ease of the pedal, papasok na agad sya sa 4th gear, eh minsan gusto mo um-overtake ulit, kelanga mo pa i-floor ulit, so I just put it in 3 instead. Now when roads clear up, balik na ulit sa D.

Nay! Buti 'di nasira... Have you tested it? Leaving it on while driving under the extreme heat of the sun for a long time can actually do more damage to your tints. It might melt and warp the tint on your rear windshield and possibly cause small bubbles to form.

    peeps,

those of you who will travel for holidays this summer, you can now avail of BIoActiv ( biodiesel ) in SLEX and NLEX Petron Gas station. Sa holy week, Petron will have base camps along roadside for their annual Petron Lakbay Alalay. Bioactiv will also be available sa mga base camps nila. Thanks

Get the gas variant if you can manage to get one. Toyota claims the line is soooooo long for this variant. Yeah right!

The 2.5 D4-D is less than ideal on a vehicle with the Fortuner's weight. Surely, the 2.5 D4-D in a Fortuner body is a bit less efficient when it comes to the power to weight ratio. A friend who has one (4x2 D4-D) says its a bit on the weak side on a recent trek up to Baguio. He has also experienced the dreaded hard starting "problem". (read the thread "Toyota D4-D Problems" for more details).

Hello, for Fortuner owners without KelSeats and those who use seatcovers, what type of seatcover do you use, leatherette or cloth-type?

    TIA

    Nice!

Where exactly is Big Bert's? I've been doing the washing myself (including the waxing, I've tried it once but it's so difficult and time-consuming that I don't want to try it again!), so now I want professionals to do it for me :D

Speaking of car washing & waxing, where's the best place to go (better if not too expensive) ?

    www.bigberts.com

Most people in this forum go to Big Berts for their car washing and detailing needs. I believe the price is reasonable.
