Saw a Silver Fortuner parked inside pioneer badminton last night, with a big 3.0 D4D at the side. Damn tires are huge.

Owners of the D4D units, i'd like some feedbacks on:
engine noise. Does the engine make a noisy taka taka taka taka taka sound at idle? how about during accelaration?
Performance-wise. Never owned a diesel vehicle before so have to really on other people's opinion on this. They say that diesel vehicles generally are unresponsive in acclerating. How about the D4D engine? Is it responsive?
Bottomline. Is it worth shelling the 300K for the D4D? Lets say one plans to use the Fortuner mostly and mainly for city driving, with some out-of-town (Tagaytay or destinations with similar road conditions) use maybe once or twice a year. Which is better to get? Btw, I'm really after engine performance in the short and long term use. 4WD system not important (although it comes with the D4D) since I won't have the heart to throw the vehicle into the mud or some potentially harmful environment.
naisip ko nga Rob Manila, kaso parang ang layo na. hehehe
