Caltex also sells longlife red coolant. Much better than the green ones which needs replacing every 2 years.

subjective po kasi ang "mas ok".

    Diesel:
Mas matipid sa fuel cost and consumption
    Mas malakas humatak sa akyatan
    Mas mabilis sa rektahan

    Gas:
    Mas tahimik
    Mas mabilis sa arangkada
    Mas mura mga pyesa
    Minimal ang usok

personal observation ko lang po yan, please correct me if i'm wrong mga innova experts.

other says it is advisable to change coolant every max 20k, due to the changes in chemistry of the coolant as it will become slightly acidic iirc the advise for the maintenace of cooling system.

for ride comfort and less headache.. go for VVTi..

D4D's supposedly have a lifespan but who really knows. It all boil down to proper maintenance.
I don't like diesel vehicles before especially my brother's Isuzu Fuego. I can smell the fumes in my room in the 2nd floor hahaha.
But my perspective changed because of the CRDi. So to make the long story short, we bought a diesel vehicle although it is a Toyota Innova.

First, diesel fuel is cheaper. So there is a psychological effect of having to spend less on every trip to the fuel pump. In the long run, gas and diesel vehicles probably cost the same to operate. But I like this psychological effect of cheaper fuel hehehe.

Diesel engines have more torque (hatak) but can rev less than gasoline engines. IMO, gasoline engines can reach a faster speed than diesel. Yung Innova D4d namin iyak na sa 135kph (3500rpm). I assume 3K rpm is nothing to gas engines.

Maintenance wise, I haven't experienced the higher cost for diesel since 5000km pa lang yung sasakyan.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to personal preference.

1st gear pa lang nakaka 3k rpm na gas engine. which engine last longer or has the greater life span diesel or gas assuming both have the same mileage and virtually pms was done religiously.

I think the gasoline engine will outlast the diesel engine, mas mababa ang chamber pressure ng gasoline engines compared sa diesel engines.

Pero based dun sa nabasa ko, after ko sagutin ang thread, diesel will outlast the gasoline engine because of the fact that diesel engines were designed to handle the pressure of exploding fuels na mas malakas compared to gas and mas mababa ang rpm ng diesel engines.

Mas matibay talaga ang diesel kesa gas engine, dahil na din sa low revving sya. Gas revs twice as fast as diesel, hence diesel more or less twice the life span.

Kaso sa diesel, maraming factor ang nagpapahaba ng lifespan, maintenance, clean fuel. Mas madami din parts that can go wrong sa diesel, 2 fuel pump, turbo electeonics.

Magpa convert din sana ako ng drum to disk brakes, Runstop sells kits that fits the innova. Sells it for 50k.

Yes, it is "nothing" to gas engine... However, for the 4 A/T Innova configuration,- it translates only to 100KPH.

One more thing,- the price difference between the gas and diesel variants for the same transmission is roughly P65K (diesel is of course more expensive)...

Assuming 8Km/L for gas (at P50/L) and 10Km/L for diesel (at P40/L),- and same maintenance costs for both, then at 29KKm,- you paid P181,250 for gasoline and P116,000 for diesel.... And so, if you're the owner of the diesel variant, then you save P65,250.... The difference is paid for....

I think the braking power of the Innova (based on my limited experience with the gasoline variant), is adequate. So, I will not consider upgrading the rear to disk brakes....
