Mumsky you could ask from the store that you would be buying from to fit it to your ride. They would be gladly to fit it with the largest fittable size you could think of and they will also let you turn the wheel so that you could see if it will touch the side of your chassis or not.

    Hi mumsky,

Thanks for the advise regarding undercoat.

Regarding tire size, I think you can use stock mags and upgrade tires to 205/70/R15 but I doubt if you will like the "look".

You can actually go up to 20's but I feel more show than function yun, all of us have different needs eg. looks, comfort, clearance, load capacity, and the route we usual take in our daily drives. What I did give is browse sa web for rims and sizes I like ( 5 X 114.3mm), with a short list went to my suking tindahan for fitting together with the tires ( usually each shop "carry" or "push" a certain brand ). over all diameter +/- 647.5mm. Dito pumapasok ang mga concerns and wants mo so the shop can suggest to you the combination that will fit you.

Yung innova ko ok yung 17s 225/55 sa harap but since mas malapad sya 225 against 205 stock, had to change studs and medyo lampas konti sa rear fender, talsikan ang mud also parang nataas ang rear end, but if fully loaded pantay na yan.

[quote=j_avonni;1128138]It's just a waste of money. It won't do any good to your car.

It's standard in Toyota Commonwealth to include this fuel treatment in the job order. But, I always ask the Service Advisor to remove it.

I would like to ask if your innova is gas or diesel variant.

Thanks for that advise MILe2, I have another inquiry about oil I would like to ask what motor oil is preferable to d4d engine. I've used both ordinary and synthetic oil of toyota but i dont notice significant diff. at all. Should i just stick using with the ordinary brand and can i also use shell motor oil. thanks

Mine was Gas Version, so I don't have first hand experience with D4d . Other D4d owner can best give you answer.

On synthetic versus mineral, I did also mineral to synthetic and back to mineral for up to 35K PMS but since I'm using LPG fuel now I switched back to fully synthetic for extra engine heat protection. Bottom line is when you do high performance driving or modified engine setup then go fully synthetic for extra protection, if you are just using your car as daily car without passengers and no extra high revs then mineral oil will suffice

Toyota gave us stock engine filled with mineral oil, so it means mineral oil is best for our engines, not unless you do modification like mine

Shell oil? Casa don't allow other oil and oil filter besides their own.

sir gil_co: you're welcome and thank you for the insights. I really appreciate it sir. Basta yung picture ng wheels na promise niyo ha, aantayin namin yun. hehe. Will look and ask around tire shops since i'm in no rush pa naman to invest in new set of wheels. I feel obliged to change lang talaga yung wheels para maiba naman itsura from stock and improve height and ride comfort. thanks again sir.

sir leinahtan: thanks for the link. will check it out later after these posts.

sir Mschumacher: thanks for the advice. will definitely do that to really make sure na yung mga concerns ko will be addressed/cleared. Will canvass soon kung saan mas mura kumuha ng wheels.

Guys, thanks for the replies and inputs. trully very helpful po. have a nice weekend and ingatz parati.

Maybe you can try ben's ok in banawe or GTD also. GTD has some nice rim design. I'm also going to change my rims but not for my innova. Its for my carens. I'm planning to change it to size 18 rims with a 235 50 wheels. Hope that this would fit.

It could be the loosened cable holding the locking mechanism. Once you shut your tailgate, the locking mechanism triggers when it touches the loop bar on the sill. Try to pry open the panel from the inside and check the connecting cable.

Baka di lang nasara ng husto. Minsan parang okay ang pagkasara ng pinto pero di fully engaged yung locking mechanism. Try mo muna itulak from the outside para sumara ng husto.

This should be of some help:

Yokohama Aspec 205/65 R15 (standard fitment)
    Height: 133.25
    Diameter: 647.5

    215/65 R16
    Height: 139.75
Diameter: 685.9 (+6% from original equipment)

    225/65 R17
    Height: 146.25
Diameter: 724.3 (+11% from original equipment)

Height is measured from the ground to the lip of the wheel. Diameter is the overall tire size. Bigger diameter will give you higher ground clearance. Note that bigger diameter tires will throw off your speedometer and odometer reading.

The ideal wheel width for 225 wide tires is 7.

Yeah, that's it. See if you can pry it open enough to look inside and check. You don't need to remove the whole panel since you said your tailgate is in complete lockdown. If you can pry open the panel on topside, try to reach for the cable holding the mechanism. this is just to open your tailgate fully free from lockdown. You can then fix the problem thereafter.

thanks sir. i might go for the R16 para i can still maintain 65 profile or 70 (but i doubt how it will look, kung acceptable. ) and maybe 215. Just got a set of 2nd hand 16inch wheels, kapos kasi sa budget, and i guess it will do its work well na din. I'm considering bridgestone or michelin for the tires. ganda review sa michelin latitude hp kaso pamatay ang price tag, parang P7k plus per tire. I'm still considering bridgestone turanza or potenza series. Any takes or inputs on those tires mga bossing?

thanks again and thanks in advance

    hi innova peeps...

What is the acceptable % difference in plus sizing wheels & tires so as not to "throw off " our Speedometer and odometer reading???

In my case, from 205/65/R15 to 225/55/R17; I went for this set up since I saw OEM toyota 17s fitted with 225/55 at Toyota Otis, but +50k and no trade in on the orig. set of shoes.

    Thanks

kindly check out this site: www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

it says there that when changing tire sizes, it is recommended that you stay within 3% of the diameter of the original tire... since you had yours fitted with 225/55/17, your speedometer difference is 4.911%, too slow.

i had mine fitted with 215/55/17, thus my speedometer difference is 3.12%, too slow.

    hope this helps

I think the 16's will look well. Di naman ganun kalayo ang increase sa tire height.

Michelin is always a good buy at any price.

For the Bridgestone Turanza and Potenza, both are very good tires. But note that each has different intended application. Ultimately, your choice would depend on what kind of look you want to achieve, or, what kind of functionality you're looking for.

The Potenza is Bridgestone's line of high performance tires. It's not as durable as other tires, and it's not expected to be. Potenza has excellent road grip necessary for racing but at the cost of having softer rubber compound. Notice also that the thread depth is also shallower. There's extra pogi points here.

The Turanza is categorized as touring tires and is intended for long drives. It's rubber compound is harder than performance tires, but softer than ordinary passenger tires. The thread pattern is not agressive (actually boring) but the depth is deeper.

I've used Turanza tires before, and what I can tell you is it's very quiet. The ride is smooth and the grip is very good. It's a nice all around tire with good all-weather performance. Those set lasted almost 3 years. They're still good, but my front left tire sustained a sidewall puncture (nalubak sa corner ng EDSA & Taft, tumama yung side ng gulong sa matulis na gilid ng pothole). I decided to replace all four, better safe than sorry.
