my question is, the innova is freakishly noisy in cold starts (first start in the morning). is this normal on petrol variants? just wanted to know before i troop to a dealer to have it checked and 'serviced'.

my next question, has anyone fitted 17-in rims in their innova? how's the ride, and what's the profile of your tyres?

my last question (sorry daming questions), may K&N cone type filter and/or bilstein shocks na ba ang innova? wala lang... wala lang magawa.

If you're talking about high rev/idling, it's normal.

Good day, my innova j dsl is averaging 9 to 10 km/l din, city driving, so pareho lang pala with the gas variant.

my mom is planning to buy innova j, gas, sabi ko dsl na lang kasi matipid, and besides yun grandia nya dsl din. and last dec. we went to baguio using her grandia, the average consumption is 13 to 14 km/l.

The reason na ayaw nya ng dsl is ayaw nya maistorbo ng mga anti smoke belching task force in the future. so what do u think guys, gas or dsl?

Rt now, we're just waiting for the desired color, so pwede pa palitan.

3rd seat comfort? Okay lang, wag lang matangkad ang sasakay. Kasyang gamit? Konti lang, hence, on my last trip to north, I installed a roof caddy/carrier.

Need your expert advise on how to protect my Innova from scratches and minsan nagagasgasan pag nagpark ako sa parking lot tapos nasasagi ng katabi kong kotse yung pintuan ng Innova ko.

Bagal mag follow-up ang Toyota Alabang.

    Thanks in advance mga dudes!

You can try Banawe, go to large shops who can install it for you. Been seing J and E models with aftermarket side door protector and they are not body color by the way, but still they serve the purpose anyway. Try to see a G model how it was installed and tell the installer to make it the same way, I saw one on the road that is installed looking straight and it is not good, BTW it should be installed a little bit slanting from front to rear. The front starts a little above the VVTI or D4D logo and the last door ends on the edged corner above the rear wheel well.

It was really irritating to get some dings and dents on your doors when parked at malls and public places, mine has one little dimple already even with the door protector installed.

    guys pa tulong naman...

my innova is due for its first 1k check up according to the warranty manual. The SA told me they will change the oil and filter but labor will be free. But when i read the car's booklet, it said in the maintenance schedule that 1k does not entail the changing of oil? it recommends 5k pa. So should i save my php 2k and have the car serviced at 5k or should i bring it in the casa for its 1k check up as stated in the warranty manual. Ang claro pa kasi ng langis niya ngayon at 1000 kms......

from your experiences, what did they do to your innovas when you had them serviced at 100k.....oil change lang ba or they do other diagnostics....can we forego with the oil change and just have it checked?

from my previous experience, i have a honda and the 1k check up is absolutely free everything, although i know the oil was not changed they just wanted us to bring in the car to maybe check the engine and tighten some bolts.

    need your inputs guys...

    TIA

mine, nagpa 1k pms ako sa shaw last monday then they suggested na ipa-change oil na. then may choice ako kung ordinary or fully synthetic, ordinary is 1.3k then fully synthetic is 3k. pero ordinary lang pinili ko. yes, free labor. then cguro check engine din.

No, its the other way around. The main consideration I suppose is that it should be in perfect parallel with the doors windows bottom edge. If you examine the doors, the second row doors are a bit taller than the front doors, hence the door moldings should be slightly slant updward from front door to the second row doors.

The one I saw on the road that looks akward was installed in parallel to the bottom edge of the doors. It seems that the reference point they took was the doors bottom edge and not the windows.

I'm not sure if the Gas version and the Diesel version has one and the same air filter enclosure but mine is a Gas version having also 3 metal clips that holds the air filter cap.

Uhm, here's another experience... my family and and a relative of mine travelled to baguio in a convoy (ave road speed, same number of pax - senior citizens on board). we rode on a patrol 4.5li 6cyl engine, and they rode a patrol 3.0li 4cyl 16v turbo diesel. we filled up on the same point, and from there we surprisingly emptied our fuel tanks at the same time. of course, talo lang yung gas sa presyo. i dunno ha, i would still believe that diesels supposedly more fuel economical (+2km/L) vs. petrol engine. its just that we have terrible diesel fuel....
