Boss, may d4d din ako (2.5) rough nga yung makina around 1500 rpm (parang truck or jeep hehe), tapos mag iiba around 1600 rpm to 2000 (where the semi-whistling sound can be heard), then iba nanaman ang tunog from 2000 to 2500 rpm (whistle), then iba nanaman pag 2500 pataas. Di naman siya mahina humatak, actually sa 1500 rpm nag uumpisa lumakas yung engine (assuming you have the right gear).
I assume nung nasa 100 to 120 kph ka, nasa 4th or 5th gear ka (most probably 5th). nag downshift ka ba when you hit 40 kph? with that speed dapat nasa 3rd or 4th gear ka. kung hindi, if you try accelerating, mahihirapan talaga makina.

Sa company, 150k up odo. No choking. 3.0 D4D 2007 model. I inspected their SCVs, mahaba.
By the way, they are running on very dirty fuel (galing sa petron, sa bayan ng sta cruz, zambales)for a very long time na. No prob pa naman. No tirik moments, buti na lang kase bundok yung route namin hehe.
parang hirap ang makina pg nsa 2nd or 3rd gear s 4th at 5th ala nmn problema. tama lng nmn ang gear ko sa takbo ng makina pero iba talaga ang tunog. na experience ko lit last june 28. pag ka start ko ng umaga mga 5 mins. ko muna pinaandar ang makina ska ko pinatakbo. ganon lit ang ngyari pgdting ng 1200-1700 rpm mga nasa 20-30 kph iba ang ingay ng makina. dpat ide2retso ko n s casa kso pg tagal tagal nagiging normal na lit ang tunog. sa2bhin lng ng tga casa n ala nmn problema.
sa ngayon sir ginagawa ko pagka start sa umaga tinatapakan ko muna ang gas pedal up to 2000+ rpm (mga 3 beses) habang naka neutral ganun din bago ko patayin ang makina. plano ko din palitan ang kurudo na gamit ko from Shell V Power Nitro+ to Fuel Save. baka lang may epekto rin ang krudo na gamit ko. pag umulit ang kakaibang tunog, ii insist ko na sa taga casa na i check nila ang makina kahit magtagal dun ng ilang araw. salamat po ng marami sa mga advice...
^mali naman yang ginagawa niyo sir. When you start the engine, just leave it at the engines normal idle speed.
It is good that this issue is already a none issue. New Innova owners will now have a peace of mind.
Just let it run on idle for a few minutes then drive slowly for the first few meters. Significant wear and tear happen on initial start when the engine is still cold and when the oil has not yet circulated properly. Most technicians don't know any better as they don't own cars. They were just trained specifically to do the necessary maintenance and repair procedure.

Sir, bakit kelangan mo mag 2000+ rpm pagka start? Even though pwede mo na siya patakbuhin after cold start after a couple of minutes, better not to rev the engine aggressively, kelangan mo muna ma attain yung proper temp before you could do high revs.
Personally I do not rev the engine pag idle, bukod sa aksaya krudo, unnecessary strain lang yan sa engine on cold start, even bago patayin engine, idle ko muna for about 2 minutes. When you drive after the cold start, be sure to keep the revs very low like <1500 rpm. Sigurado namang aandar vehicle mo kahit mababa rev mo. Ganun din pag malapit na sa destination, di na ako nag rerev past 1500 rpm.
tinetesting ko lng sir kung matatanggal ung unusual engine noise pag natakbo sa range na 1200 to 1700 rpm lalo na pag nagtse change gear ako from 2nd to 3rd gear pagka release ng clutch mas pakinig yung kakaibang ingay nang makina. paminsan minsan lang nangyayari kaya di ko mapacheck sa casa. baka may alam sa inyo mga sir kung ano pede sabihin sa service advisor na dapat macheck o suggestions po para mawala yung kakaibang ingay. salamat po.
Try mong itaas ng konti yung rpm mo before you change your gear, gawin mong 2000 then observe the engine noise kung ganon pa rin.
