kaibigan, dalawang variance ang toyota innova: gasoline & diesel. white smoke or white smoke with little water coming out of the exhaust? kong gasoline normal yong white smoke with little water coming out of the exhaust.....speaks that your car has a cool engine ngunit white lang at walang little amount of water coming out of the exhaust.....pa check mo na rin....pero kong diesel....pa=check mo kaagad. just bought a hiace commuter last june 5, 2012....and for 6 months and 13 days as of today, I have no problem....in fact just have it serviced yesterday for 20T. gamit na gamit ko ngunit alagang-alaga ko. family used lang ito. oil I used is fully synthetic engine oil(15w50). change oil, oil filter and fuel filter every 10T kilometers, however, every 5T kilometers, only the oil filter is changed. now that it reaches to 20T, they changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter but by 25T kl. I'll have it engine decarb.

toyota innova 2.5 variance, hilux 2.5 variance, fortuner 2.5 variance, all hiace variance have the same 2.5 2kd-ftv d-4d crdi diesel engine.

hiace commuter owner ako. just bought it last june......odometer reading - fr 0 - 500 kl, medyo mabigat, masikip sa 120kl/hr in a kilometer distance.....ngunit noong tinakbo namin sa slex (break-in) - odometer reading is 559.....slowly run from 120, then relax to 80 or 90 for 5 min....then 140 for about 3min then relax to 80-90 then run up to 170kl. on our way back to manila, ok na malambot na at suwabe ang makina. ngayon 6 mos and 13 days smooth ang engine 20Tkl na.

isa sa nakakaligta-an na tamang pag alag sa 'turbocharger' is 1-3 minutes rest bago i-off ang engine pagdating sa distination. depending on the speed and terrain. turbocharger studies shows that if you turn-off immediately the engine in a turbocharge engine, the turbocharger life span will be shortened. take your own research and study on this matter.....I've taken it and it helps me a lot. if you can find a turbo-timer delay....buy it and have them install in your turbocharger engine. BMW 320d Turbocharger - allow engine to fast idle (1,000 RPM) for 3 - 5 minutes to seat turbo seals.

These are some of the most common causes of turbo failure:
    1. Hard driving immediately on startup - The engine has not built up enough oil pressure to properly lubricate the turbocharger.
    2. Shutting of the engine immediately after driving - The turbo is extremely hot and still spinning with no oil to lubricate the bushings and dissipate the heat.
    3. Lack of oil or dirty oil - Without oil, the entire engine will fail. Dirty oil will carry debris (metal slivers, carbon pieces) into the turbo bushings.
    4. Shrapnel in the manifolds - Pieces of valves, rings, pistons and even coked oil will destroy the turbine and / or compressor wheels when contact is made at high RPM.
    5. Pressurizing the turbocharger - A dirty air filter, clogged catalytic convertor or damaged exhaust system can cause a failure. An internally damaged engine will pressurize, preventing the oil from draining out of the turbocharger.

Dapat pala, mai-print out yung tip mo, Bro, kasi minsan nakaka-limutan ko, napapatay ko kaagad yung makina kung malayo ang tinakbo ng sasakyan ko.

Correct turbocharger fitment involves more than following the turbocharger fitting guidelines that are specific and supplied with each turbocharger. When a turbocharger has failed the fault diagnosis does not stop there. Far more important is the reason for failure. Most turbochargers fail for a reason; the most popular cause of failure are oil related problems.

Other causes such as over boosting, over speeding and foreign object impact damage are all common turbocharger failure causes. Any fault that will prejudice the operation of the turbocharger must be found and rectified before fitment of another turbocharged is carried out.

A turbocharger is not an independent device unlike other ancillary components on a vehicle, such as a power steering pump for example. It is an intrinsic part of the vehicle's power system. It shares with the engine it's oil supply, water supply, air intake supply, exhaust gas flow, engine management control, various pneumatic devices, ignition and fuel injection devices. Any and all of these have a crucial effect on the operation of the turbocharger. The culmination of these variables can result in a relatively complicated task in accurate turbocharger fault diagnosis. It is for this reason that sufficient time and understanding must be applied to turbocharger fault investigations.

1 - Before fitting the fitter should be absolutely 100% sure that there is no underlying fault that has caused the turbocharger to fail. If a turbocharger fails it may be the turbocharger - if the replacement fails there is likely to be another problem elsewhere.

2 - Remove absolutely all traces of contaminated oil, even the smallest particles of debris from the failed unit may immediately destroy the new turbocharger - this is a very common failure reason. If the oil has began to solidify the entire engine may need to be completely degreased and steam cleaned.

3 - Replace oil supply lines and fittings. These lines often become plugged with decomposed oil which restricts oil flow and drainage.

4 - Prime oil feed lines and turbocharger bearing chamber - a turbocharger running for 1 second without oil is the equivalent of running an engine without oil for 1 minute. Turn the compressor wheel a few times to distribute the oil.

5 - Make sure all openings to turbo are open and not plug or capped off - make sure that the air intake hose is fitted correctly, anything sucked into the impeller with destroy the blades. ENSURE THAT NO LOSE DEBRIS IS PRESENT INSIDE THE AIR HOSES! Remove old gasket material from the exhaust manifold, make sure there is no damage to the faces.

6 - Shut off fuel or disable ignition and crank the engine for at least 15 seconds or until oil pressure is raised.

7 - Allow engine to fast idle (1,000 RPM) for 3 - 5 minutes to seat turbo seals.

8 - Always let engine idle for 3 - 5 minutes before shut down, otherwise the turbo will continue to spin without oil lubrication and pressure.

9 - When changing oil, be sure to prime the newly replaced oil filter.

10 - Do not used silicone or thread tape

11 - If fitted with an intercooler, ensure that the unit is not contaminated with oil - this may enter the air intake causing damage to the impeller blades and internal bearings.

12 - Check engine breather system if present - if blocked the engine may use the turbocharger as a vent and force oil past the internal seals.

13 - After idling for 3-4 minutes stop the engine and check the oil level, if the oil level is such that the oil returns from the turbo back to the engine from the turbo then it is too high.

Sanayan na din kasi yan bro. Ako kahit hindi long drive, I make it a point to idle the engine before turning it off.
