well not exactly the same but almost 70% the same. not exactly sure what the differences are but i think the wrx sway bars are bigger compared to fxt and some other stuff.
well here's the downsides of the fxt compared to a fortuner.
-fc
-5 seats
-ground clearance (if you live in the city i don't see why this would be an issue)
-maintenance is a bit more expensive
-parts are more expensive
-1 casa only in metro manila (but the service of MI is just worlds apart compared to other casa's in the philippines)
advantage naman ng fxt over fortuner:
-better ride
-power
-handling
-modifications are limitless
-better build quality
-more legroom
-more features
-safety
-you won't see one every where
-and of course the subaru community is very friendly, once you drive one you'll see other subaru owners honking or waving at you all the time.
yes, there is. 200 ang limit niya. my guess is less than 240? kung kaya paabutin dun that is.
speed limited to 220kph, the only possible way to remove the speed limiter is to tune the ecu. there's a guy in scp who had a unichip installed on his fxt and his top speed was around 280kph but he also has full exhaust, cai installed and coilovers installed. theoretically if all stock the fxt could do 240kph with out the speed limiter but an ecu tune will immediately add around 20-30whp on an fxt if tuned properly. so there's no way to guarantee how fast the fxt can go stock with out speed limiter.
my 2.0 is limited to 190kph but i'm only at 3rd gear around 5k rpm, with out speed limiter i think it can do 210kph but you'll need i long road to be able to achieve that.

[QUOTE=foresterx;1756012]for 300k more you get
-leather seats
-power memory seats
-auto folding side mirrors
-rear spoiler
-better wheels and tires
-better brakes
-better suspension
-a very powerful engi
there is NO power memory seats. but power adjustable driver's seat only
upto 200kph lang limiter nung fxt. kakatanggal lang ni papa cliff kahapon sa akin and 240 ang max sa ODO niya so i guess it's safe to say na less than 240. pero as i said, hirap paabutin dun lalo na kung stock at may mga cars sa highway.
[quote=MICGIL;1757873]ah ok power seats lang pala. i think i got confused with the a-line, legacy, outback ata ang may power memory seats?
really, bakit lahat ng fxt owners at scp and subarusociety are saying 220kph? you're the first fxt owner i know who has an fxt limited to 200kph. did you try reaching the top speed of your fxt? if so, where and was there strong wind ahead of you that day? there's so many factors why it wouldn't reach that speed if not done properly. i also doubt that subaru would limit the fxt to 200kph if the limit of the 2.0 is 190kph. i don't have an fxt and haven't been able to drive an fxt to it's top speed, i'm only basing what i know from other owners feed back so correct me if i'm wrong na lang.

there's a couple of guys who posted the same thing 220kph all stock there's more on other threads but i'm too lazy to search.

ok. im not here to argue if what you're implying is i'm not stating facts or nagbibida bidahan lang or whatever. e ano naman if im the first owner you know that has a 200kph limit? is there something wrong with that? what i said are facts and based on my experience for the readers to know. my SA in MI told me before na 200 max na limiter. I also saw in the computer of cliff na 200 nga when he tuned and removed the limiter of my car yesterday.
no need to post the link because the gunnit thread was dated on 2009 and wala pa Susoc nun. baka outdated na yan dahil 08-09 mga fxt ng mga yan. mine is a '10 model. hmm.. if you get a 2nd hand fxt 08-09 220 max niya sa limiter but if you get a recent model 200 nalang.
if you want more proof na what im saying is correct. you can ask clifford too im sure you know him too dahil member ka din naman ng scp. grannyshifter right?
i don't liked to be pushed around porket newbie lang ako kala mo naman kung makapagtanong ka e detective ka at may link pa. kala mo naman nagsisinungaling ako. i'm not.
oh i'm not arguing any thing, like i said i haven't been able to push the fxt up to it's maximum speed i only said 220kph based on feed backs from other owners that's why i said you can correct me if i'm wrong and to tell you the truth i haven't driven the '10-11 fxt's. maybe we can confirm if the 08-09 and 10-11 models have different top speeds?
since you own an fxt do you agree with me that with out the limiter it can reach 240kph? i know it will take a while to get there, but from your experience, can it?
yes i am grannyshifter on all other forums that i go to, i tried to register here as grannyshifter but it wouldn't let me that's why i ended up with foresterx. what's your s/n at scp or suso btw have i met you in one of the eb's?
yep. confirmed from the link that you posted 08-09 has a 220 limit and '10 has 200.. but don't know the new '11 models.
yes, of course i agree w/ you that it can and will reach 240kph given a long road w/ no cars. well, i haven't tested it w/o the limiter pero my top speed w/ the limiter on is around 185 and from there medyo mabagal ng umakyat kaya hirap hataw dami sasakyan pasaway sa fast lane sa slex. and honestly natatakot ako lumusot lusot. hehe. that's why nagpatune ako to see if it will hit 200 or so much quicker.
no we haven't. lurker lang ako dun and malayo ako so i don't join ebs and funruns. my handle there in scp/susoc is looks. i don't post in Susoc. si arnoldc lang kilala ko dun and from wiredstate pa. haha
well please update this thread once you are able to reach your cars top speed so we can have more info about the fxt. btw what other mods do you have if you don't mind me asking? since having other mods would make a huge difference compared to just getting a tune.
will do. pero don't expect lang na mareach ko rin 240 dahil takot na rin ako sa 185 na speed. hehe.pero pag walang cars, push to limits naman ako.
ok, i'll share it here. changed the exhaust 2 weeks ago except for the mufflers. i retained it stock para tahimik pa rin. nawalan ng torque. don't know if sakal or di pa natutune. after a long wait, natune lang yesterday sa autotechnica. great numbers but still not that satisfied. so i changed mufflers too. ayun ganda balik yung torque kaso nadidistract ako sa ingay ng mufflers. kaso dapat pa tune ulit.
I called up MI to schedule a test drive of the FXT but there's a catch pala. You have to go to their EDSA showroom to do this. Labo. Like where do you test drive in that area? Even on a weekend, EDSA crawls like my old pet turtle. We're talking FXT here, so that means wide open road to feel the turbo kick in. If only they could bring it to Makati where I can access the skyway. Or to Alabang on the weekend so I can hit Daang Hari. So now I am asking myself, "How bad do you want it?"
MI, why don't you guys open a dealership in Makati or Alabang? Or why don't you allow your SI's to bring the car to the customer? Your dealership ain't exactly the easiest place to get to, you know. If only for that, option 2 (Tucson) and 3 (CX-7) are getting more attractive.
i think they will open one in alabang, trust me the after sales service of MI is worlds apart compared to other casas. how badly do you want it? depends if you are looking for an all out performance car then yup nothing in the same price range can beat it. the cx-7 isn't even a competition against the fxt when it comes to performance, tucson is almost close but the fxt would still run circles around it. but yeah the tucson if premium is a good 2nd choice, heck if i wasn't such a performance guy i'd get the tucson since the features that go with the premium is just to irresistible.
^ ibang level din aksi talaga ginawa ng Hyundai with the Tucson CRDi R-eVGT eh. 6speed A/T pa so sulit yung power nung engine and the tranny. But the FXT is gas so, iba talaga speed and acceleration nito.
If I may ask (OT), if you religiously follow the PMS sched and then use fully synthetic engine oils, tranny oils and differential oils, would the performance of the FXT (esp the engine) hold up to more tha 5 years without any noticeable decline in top speed and acceleration? Sabi kais kapag gas engine, 5 years and you can feel noticeable decline while for diesel it could last up to 10 years. Due to engine heat and the rpms ha.
