Malaki yata sa Subaru ang financial impact ng major redesign (dahil mas makakamura ang current owners if they can almost mix-and-match their parts) kesa sa potential additional sales brought on by 'sleeker' designs. The Impreza's new re-skin however, shows they CAN do it.

I'm a noob and this is my first post. Been reading these threads for a while now since I'm planning to buy a compact SUV. However, I can stretch my budget only until 1.3M. I am single, don't need an extra large space but I drive the highway a lot so I want something strong, stable and safe. Was able to narrow my choices between the 2007 CRV m/t and the subaru forester 2.0 a/t but I'm leaning towards the fozzie. The thing is puro pang 2.5XT ang reviews sa web. What do you guys think?

Oh and I was surprised when I visited the showroom in Edsa that a lot of supposed-to-be optional items such as fog lamps, 6-cd changer, 4 airbags, etc are now "standard" in 2.0! Seems like a great deal.

Best thing to do is test drive both.

So I guess your decision will be based on how your ride will be used.

Thanks for your comments. Me getting a forester, there's just too many CRVs out there. The only thing keeping me from signing is the thought of a better deal/promo when the holiday season begins. Do dealers really come out with better offers come November/December?

Wala na bang deal/promo right now? Before kasi meron nung nagta-transition sila from beige to black interior. Ganda nga ng deal eh. Kung wala, check out the thread on negotiating with dealers. Not sure kung December or early next year ang best time to buy eh. Congrats on your decision. I myself was pondering on getting the 2.0 and just slightly modding it to accelerate faster but ended up getting the XT para stock na lang.

I have a question for the modders out there...When I got my unit (and when I test drove it), I felt the ride was so super smooth it was better than our accord! Feeling ko malambot yung gulong but I didn't check it for a month and I was very happy.

Nung nag long-drive ako the first time, nilagay ko na sa standard 31/30 yung tire pressure para makita kung titipid siya tsaka para safe. I found the pressure to be around 26 psi.

I find the ride now to be just about as stiff as my old 2002 Civic! So I made it softer -- to 30/29 psi. While the ride is now better than my civic, feeling ko mas OK kung 29/28.

Would you suggest lowering to 29/28 (bale 2 psi lower than recommended) or should I just mod the suspension and return the pressure to stock?

    Newbie question

CRV 2007 bibilhin namin pero check muna namin Subaru Forester 2.0X
    Question sa mga Subaru owners

-Pag change oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter....kailangan casa lagi or pwede gumamit ng replacement.....

    Thanks

Baka kasi presyong BMW and Mercedez eh....

I spent around 4k-5k for my 5k KM and 10k KM PMS at the casa. This included labor, oil, oil filter and other consumables. After the first 10k KMs, every 10K KM or after 6 months na yung next scheduled PMS.

Haven't really checked the cost of other services and spare parts in general but my SA told me that it shouldn't cost more than what you'd spend for a Camry or Accord. Going by the cost of the regular PMS, I'm inclined to believe her.

My SA told me they are opening a branch in Alabang next year. Anyway, if more and more people buy Subaru, parts will become less of a problem (I hope).

Also, Subaru is quite popular in the States unlike Suzuki and I read from somewhere that around 85% of their cars are exported to other countries so I guess spare parts are readily available to be shipped... do I sound like I'm convincing myself?

    hello everyone,

finally I have a place to ask. I need a second car which is not too expensive. My choices are escape, crv, rav4 and a Forester 2.0. Looking over and asking, escape and subaru are the cheapest in its class. I have test drive both the 2.5 and 2.0 series and I would say the handling is good. I work a lot out of town like cavite and pampanga. How is the durability of the suspension of Forester? How about the leg room at the back seat? I have one kid and another about to come.
    Thanks for your help guys.

Bago pa unit ko so I can't say if matibay. I don't expect Subaru to not have parts for their best selling car here pero if cost will be a concern, AFAIK Toyota and Honda should have the cheapest.

Got from Tokyo motor show. Forester was not included in their display maybe there's no new model. Main attractions aside from WRX STI are Legacy and Outback.

Just recently hit 8.0 km/liter for the first time! It's nice to drive a fast AT for once though. Most ATs I've driven are nowhere near as responsive as this. Shucks. Most of them can't even come close to my 1.6 Civic MT within 100 meters.
