I SUPPOSE mas matipid yung 2.0X. Madami na akong nakita nun sa road -- it's their best selling model, pero baka non-tsikoteers dahil konti feedback dito eh. Kinda takes the fun out of getting a subaru though. Resale value is currently not so good ... unless biglang dumami ang fans nito. Pero half a decade down the road, whatever resale value left of your car isn't going to be that big in 'real' terms anyway. Kung mataas ang resale at cost sa priorities mo, hindi bagay ang Subaru.

Mas magiging ok ang subaru pag dumami na casa nila....Kasi ang issue ngayon eh availability ng parts and cost....

Yung 2.0X isn't bad as far as cost. Kung tutuusin mas mahal pa ang CRV kasi halos same price sila, MT pa yung CRV at walang AWD. Yap, this is my first subbie (happy so far esp with the Prodrive tranny and the nice ride) so wala pa akong experience sa parts. Pero it's the reason I limited my choice to Forester kasi yun ang best-selling nila.

    Camry = Family Sedan

Forester = Tall Wagon - Compact SUV

IMO the camry has a better ride and quieter interior.

Haven't tried a new Camry, honestly. Pero I wouldn't put it too far off our 90s era Accord -- kung lalambutan ang gulong. Ang problema, hindi safe to do so.

I'm wondering though if there are tires that can simulate around 26 psi on our reportedly not so good Yokohama HT's? Yun kasi yung tire pressure when I got it off the dealer eh. Siyempre tinigasan ko na pero inenjoy ko muna siya for a whole 2 months yata yun.

do you mean to say your tire pressure is only 26 psi; what air do they use, 'coz i use nitrogen and its very good. my tire pressure is 28 psi. after 6 months of riding walang bawas when I did my top-ups.

btw, I do have a camry. the problem is I can't use it everyday. Mainit masyado sa mga tao. Can't park anywhere and my work needs a lot of traveling 'coz I do surgery in different hospital. Kaya I like the forester 'coz yun kaya ng budget and all Japan made pa.

Only on closer inspection do they have a puzzled face as in what the heck car is that if it ISN'T a revo?

    Pero huwag ka, http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...999#post961999

any feedback regarding the pros and cons of the 1st generation 2.0 MT forester? How does it compare to the latest 2.0 with regards to durability, fuel economy, maintenance costs, drivability? Is it mechanically the same as the current model?

My cousin has a 3-year old Forester 2.0 na medyo malakas gamitin. Ewan ko kung first gen yun, pero wala naman siyang complaints or major breakdowns. So far daw, other than regular maintenance ang repair pa lang niya ay bearings. Maganda pa din daw ang ride.

Hey, I found another great use for the FXT. Other making most other cars eat your dust (when you want to), or going on long drives (whether you want to or not), it's great for running around the open field parking areas like the one in Clark's Hot Air Balloon thing -- rain or shine pa!

i read there are reports of excessive rotor wear.
does this occur on the 1st gen or also the current generation of foresters?

Just went to subaruforester.org to check this out. Hindi pa conclusive eh. Madali pala kasi talaga masira ang rotor pag mali ang higpit ng nut sa gulong -- puwede din kasi those units are modded and/or pushed very hard.

My cuz also hasn't reported probs after 3 years and 50K kms, though his is a 2.0. Mine hasn't had any probs either after 7 months and 13K kms -- not even the purported moonroof problem which I've been anticipating. Ang unang nasira sa akin yung zipper ng seat cover -- the zip tore right out. But I guess I can't blame them for that.
