August 23rd, 2007 05:42 PM #185Updates on my Fozzie...Brought it to Baguio for the first time. Also checked the tires for the first time -- as I suspected, medyo malambot (manufacturers usually make them soft to give smoother rides) so nilagay ko sa PSI na nasa door post. I was expecting an almost CRV-like ride harshness, but still managed to do better than a Civic. Hindi sumakit ang katawan at likod ko despite the bad roads brought about by the typhoon!
So we're going up Baguio via Marcos hiway and I'm wondering when I'd feel 'bitin' and decide to use Sportshift. Halfway na ako, wala pa din. Sobrang lakas pala sa akyatan nung Fozzie! So instead of using Sportshift, I hit the power button instead.
Kaso sabay baba ng napaka kapal na fog! E medyo madilim na, umaambon pa. I kept going at what I thought was a prudent pace with all the electronic gizmos turned on. Smoked everyone going up, MT's included. Yun nga lang I didn't realize I was going too fast na pala until I ate up half the opposite lane! (Sometimes, I don't know if the quiet and smoothness is a boon or a bane) So super menor na.
Pababa, I finally decide to use sportshift rather than D2 -- may stretches naman kasi na puwede 3rd eh -- yun pala magandang use nung sportshift.
Back on the highway, I find my best strategy was to avoid sudden accelerations and decelerations kasi parang ayaw niya ng ganun. So I'd go at a modest pace then when I get a good opening, I'd let her rip and pass several vehicles at once. Hindi ako nag-power button dito ha. It felt quite stable naman even at 140 over the national hiway.
Pagbaba ko ng Baguio, stop over ako sa Pampanga. Naku bigla na lang ayaw mag-work nung remote key! So I lock manually. By the time I get home, it works na. (I suspect condensation due to the high humidity AND cold, then sudden hot weather. I remember it also happened to my Civic's remote before).
Finally got home safe and sound. The best news? Umabot na din ako ng 7.78 km/liter -- better than our non-crdi Starex!

August 23rd, 2007 06:13 PM #186Good to know you are still enjoying your fozzie.
I got roughly the same mileage on my way up to Baguio (low 7s). I did manage to do over 10 km/l on my way back to Manila though but that was because of less "spirited" driving.
My problem with the rattling sounds on the rear roof and rear right seatbelt assembly is still unresolved to this day. This is after 5 visits to the casa already. Haaayyy...

under warranty pa so they don't charge me for fixing the rattles. Kaso lang, they can never seem to get all the rattles out. I missed out on the black interior by one month. Would have waited kung alam ko lang na meron pala lalabas na black.

August 26th, 2007 05:43 PM #190Whew. Now I'm GLAD I got the black interior kahit they were offering the beige one to me for a bit less. The good news is, yung akin walang ka rattle-rattle. Na-try ko na din yung moon roof, OK naman, walang probs. I hope you finally get your rattle issues sorted out. Hiritan mo kaya na you're thinking of asking them for a replacement?
have you tried spraying peppermint?
