Hong Kong reported 113 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday (Jul 22), a daily record, including 105 that were transmitted locally, adding to a slew of new cases which have hit the global financial hub over the past two weeks.

The city expanded strict new social distancing measures from midnight Wednesday, mandating face masks in all indoor public areas including malls and markets, Health Secretary Sophia Chan said.

A spike in recent cases was mostly due to people not wearing masks, said Chan. The new measures will be in place for two weeks.

The closure of 12 types of venues - including gyms and entertainment centres - will continue until Jul 28, as will a ban on dining in restaurants after 6pm.

NCR now in danger zone !!!

    1. 52 percent ICU bed occupancy on July 21. First time it happened that there are more occupied ICU beds dedicated for COVID-19 than vacant in PH since DOH started releasing this data

    2. ICU bed occupancy is highest in NCR at 71 percent -- DANGER ZONE.

One of my colleague from work had experienced sore throat last July 11 and decided to get swabbed. Results went out July 15 and turned out positive. He last went to the office on July 9 which was also my last day of interaction with him. I was informed that I was part of contact tracing and was advise to go home last July 15 and do home quarantine and observe for symptoms. Went on self isolation at home in a separate room and bathroom, utensils were separated as well. Everyone wore mask inside the house.

Experienced 38C fever and rashes(hives) on the night of July 15 and took paracetamol, by July 16 fever is gone but experiencing body aches similar to flu symptoms. My wife reported my case to the barangay and was advised that I undergo home quarantine following safety protocols at home. Was advised to wait for swab schedule.

By July 17 body aches is gone and no further fever incidents. Between July 19 and 20 I have colds but not runny nose and I think lost my sense of smell and taste.

I have yet to get my swab schedule from the LGU and the earliest I can get from a private lab is on July 29. Other than losing my sense of smell and taste, I feel fine right now isolated in my room.

To the guys who are using O2 Canada masks, has there been any changes to the exhalation valves?

To me it looks like the valves don't go through the filter so it's basically just a more comfortable, better fitting and reusable N95/N99 valved mask and therefore unfit for the pandemic.

See if you can get a bottle of oral povidone iodine, aka Betadine gargle. There's been a lot of studies recently on its effectiveness in deactivating sars-cov2 on the upper respiratory tract. It's not a cure, but might help managing your symptoms, and can be a preventive measure for your family as well.

Pasok ito sa sinasabi ni Dr. Minguita Padilla sa interview sa DZBB, na if you want to be swab test it is best to be done on the 8th day na you thought you got it.

Just curious what was your interactions with your infected colleague? Aren't you wearing mask that time?

yes in the case of gls2001 he knew when he got infected coz his officemate tested positive

he could backtrack to July 9 the last time he had contact with the officemate

but not everyone knows where and when they got infected

for example if you got infected somewhere na puro strangers (like a restaurant)

when one of the strangers test positive days later, you wouldn't know about it

(unless we're hi-tech like SK you're gonna receive a message to inform you that you were at the same time and place where someone tested positive so you gotta get tested)

Kasama sa health policy ng mga resto ngayon ang pag fill-up ng info like name, number and date time. Siguro inform ka ng resto pag may nag positive sa staff nila. Pero kung may nag positive na customer ewan natin kung inform pa ng customer yung resto.

kung meticulous ang gov't contact tracers they'll look at the person's phone to check location history
