Im not concerned at this point and yes we have rapid test every week it is just that it turned out positive that last time I tested. With the negative PCR test result it just give me some uncertainty if I really got covid or other type of virus maybe if I tested positive on swab test could give me a closure hehe

many rapid tests use only one's eyes in reading the test.
pcr requires expensive, million peso equipment to perform. not to mention, the stringent architectural requirements for licensing...

are these test kits languishing in the bodega, un-used?

questions i would like to know the answers to:
1. are these local test kits already officially validated? laboratories are wary in using un-validated test kits. it would make them potentially open to litigation.
2. does UP have a surplus? baka naman kasi, sa pangangailangan na lang ng UP, ay ubos na ito.
3. is UP actually making available their test kits, to whoever is interested?
4. what test kits are reportedly languishing in the bodega? UP's, or the previously-imported ones of reportedly questionable quality?

5. is it possible, that the other laboratories' equipment are not exactly compatible with UP's product?
6. is it possible, that the other laboratories' equipment acquisition contracts include an exclusivity clause regarding what reagents are to be used?

Arizona’s Maricopa County, home to the state’s largest city, Phoenix, is bringing in 14 coolers to hold up to 280 bodies and more than double morgue capacity ahead of an expected surge in coronavirus fatalities, officials said on Thursday.

In Texas, the city of San Antonio and Bexar County have acquired five refrigerated trailers to store up to 180 bodies.

The appearance of such mobile morgues has fed the sense in some Southern states that the pandemic appears to be spinning out of control.

Doc many companies test their employees regularly even if the company isn't in the frontline

diba sabi mo nga pag negative sa rapid test it doesn't mean wala ka virus -- it could mean antibodies haven't developed yet

doctors have advised company owners about that

that's why they test their employees weekly or every 2 weeks or once a month

meron na kasi tayo community transmission

The research team, led by BioPRIA and Monash University's Chemical Engineering Department, including researchers from the ARC Center of Excellence in Convergent BioNano Science and Technology (CBNS), developed a simple agglutination assay—an analysis to determine the presence and amount of a substance in blood—to detect the presence of antibodies raised in response to the SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Positive COVID-19 cases caused an agglutination or a clustering of red blood cells, which was easily identifiable to the naked eye. Researchers were able to retrieve positive or negative readings in about 20 minutes.

While the current swab / PCR tests are used to identify people who are currently positive with COVID-19, the agglutination assay can determine whether someone had been recently infected once the infection is resolved—and could potentially be used to detect antibodies raised in response to vaccination to aid clinical trials.

8 more high profile inmates die of COVID-19 | Inquirer News

Eight other high profile inmates from the New Bilibid Prison have died of COVID-19, sources said.

Of the eight, six are Chinese while the two others are Filipino drug lords. Three of the eight were part of the “Bilibid 19” that were previously transferred to the National Bureau of Investigation after then Justice Secretary Leila De Lima discovered that several inmates have been leading posh lifestyles while incarcerated.

One of two Filipino drug lords died May 23 while the other died early June.

DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #127

As of 4PM today, July 19, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 67,456.

A total of 2,241 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 74 out of 84 current operational labs.

DOH likewise announces 398 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 22,465.

Note:
Of the 58 deaths, 25 (43%) in July and 33 (57%) in June. Deaths were from Region 7 (54 or 93%), NCR (1 or 2%), Region 1 (1 or 2%), Region 9 (1 or 2%), and Region 11 (1 or 2%).

Eighty-nine (89) duplicates were removed from the total case count. The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
