a close friend is in the hospital right now and just learned he was positive for COVID yesterday.

He has been working from home since ECQ. the only time in the past 2 weeks that he went out is for the company mandated COVID test. He was negative in the company covid test and continued working from home but late last week he started having fever and difficulty breathing, he was brought to the hospital and another swab test done and its positive yesterday. according to him it was the testing day sa company that was the only day he went out the past 2 weeks..

Sobrang malas naman siya.

Different scenarios. Meron o wala symptoms, after swabbing, positive ang result. I mean what are the chances that the kits are compromised. Some are from china...

Yung kayang pumila sa free test sa quirino, after 2 weeks ilan kaya don ang mag positive.

How did he travel to the test site? Did he ride with anyone else? Was the test site indoors? While he probably got it from there, getting it from food and handling other contaminated items is be possible.

That's why I want to know how the swabbers keep the next person safe. Does the swabbing create aerosols? If it does, multiple swabbing in an indoor area may not be safe. Maybe the doctors here can answer.

if it was a rapid test (very likely it's a rapid test coz most companies here use rapid test not swab)

But if they follow strict health protocols hinde naman siguro nagkahawaan baka nag beso-beso mga yan or tsismisan tapos kumain sa labas after ng testing.

That's what I've been thinking all along. Baka yung walang covid, sa testing pa makakuha ng virus. Sa dami ng tao, may chances talaga makakuha ka. Saka sa pagod ng mga kumukuha ng test, bawat hawak ba nila sa tao, do they change their full PPE? Call me paranoid, but I function as if EVERYONE has the virus kaya dapat bawat galaw sanitized, I even alcohol the alcohol bottle.

As of 4PM today, July 21, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 70,764.

A total of 1,951 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 73 out of 84 current operational labs.

DOH likewise announces 209 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 23,281.

Note:
Of the 2 deaths, 1 (50%) in July and 1 (50%) in June. Deaths were from Region 7 (1 or 50%) and Region 6 (1 or 50%).

Eighty-five (85) duplicates were removed from total case count. These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.

I’ve been questioning these testing centers from the start. Specially mga shielded kiosks with the rubber gloves hanging out the shields/barriers. Looks like they are only for the protection of the health worker administering the tests, and no protection for the persons being tested.
