    in truth,
the first few weeks was a truly clue-less scenario for the health professionals.
it is only because of the power of the internet, that the health folks were able to learn real fast.
doctors from the other side of the globe, were communicating and sharing in real-time, with the rest of the world, their experiences.

This is exactly what I am saying, darating at darating ang panahon na they have to live with a family member

Kawawa din mga seniors kasi ang tagal nila magtitiis sa bahay, but then that's a small price to pay for good health

    when we meet long-lost relatives,
    among the first questions asked,
"o, kamusta magulang mo? dun pa ba sila sa bahay? sino kasama nila?"

In our workplace, most people come from well-to-do families. Self-fulfilling prophecy eh - more opportunities for people who have more to begin with.

We can always present anecdotes showing one bias over the other, but the macroeconomic data shows na sobrang liit pa rin ng % of Filipinos who have income to support living alone.

"Kinausap ko po si Usec (Lloyd Christopher) Lao ng PS DBM dahil sila nga po ang bumibili. Ang sabi niya totoo naman na noong una mataas ang bili ng DOH, pero ngayon napababa na dahil dumidiretso sila sa manufacturer. So meron pong katotohanan sa sinabi ni Sec Garin. Sinabi ng PS DBM na ginagawa na nila yan, dahilan kaya napababa ang binibili ng PS DBM," he said in his regular media briefing.

Gov't now buying COVID-19 supplies straight from manufacturer

Are our government official playing dumb or really dumb? of course it is much cheaper when we go directly to the manufacturer....

    for example,
china-sourced sansure pcr machine, versus the US-sourced thermo scientific pcr machine.
the costs are 1.75M versus 4M (as i remember; if wrong, kindly correct it).
now, i am not familiar with either machine. but i sure's want re-assurance that the much cheaper machine function as reliably as the more expensive competitor, and will deliver results that are as good as the more expensive competitor, before i buy one...

    in our workplace,
we prefer a more expensive brand of equipment over the cheaper competitor, because it is nicer to work with.

this qualitative difference in performance is something many bean counters may not be aware of.
when it comes to laboratory equipment, "they may not always be equal".

it said, "does not spread easily".

Pareho school ng mga anak ko, high school and college eh magkakaroon ng online learning. I don't know kung mas matututo sila sa online compared sa classroom talaga pero mahirap I-sacrifice ang buhay.

Had an unfortunate accident on my way to work... Was scared while waiting for the police report in Kamuning Station. 2 officers were openly not wearing face mask while in an enclosed room and speaking loudly...

DAILY UPDATE: Total Cases in ASEAN crossed the 74,000 mark today at 6:30 pm with almost 1,700 New Cases reported across the region. Of grave concern is the fact that Indonesia has reported close to 1,000 New Cases today, eclipsing the next two highest countries – Singapore and the Philippines. The archipelagic nation also has 1,278 Total Deaths to date - the highest number for any country with 36 New Deaths today. Total Recoveries in Indonesia is also relatively low with only 24% of all reported cases in the country having recovered. Elsewhere, Malaysia’s New Cases have increased a little since yesterday probably due to a migrant worker cluster – some of whom have evaded police custody after testing positive. Thailand’s and Myanmar’s numbers today – the only other 2 countries to report New Cases – are similar to yesterdays. Total Deaths currently stand at 2,323 and as mentioned earlier, Indonesia accounts for the bulk of New Deaths. The other 4 deaths were reported in the Philippines. There have been 1,278 New Recoveries today with the majority reported in Singapore (842). Active Cases in ASEAN continue to hover around the 43,000 mark. Of concern is the fact that Indonesia’s Active Cases have increased by 674 since yesterday.
