I've been lucky. Not everyone gets the same opportunities.
I got great high school education for free. Which set me up for great college education for free. Which set me up to get a job at a top multinational, which set me up to move to other top multinationals.
95% of Filipinos do not get the same breaks. Even if they work harder than I do.
Further up the ladder, there are people from well-to-do families who don't have to try as hard but will have even more opportunities to do well with their own businesses.

But what happens if they are in their 80s and 90s? Usually talaga may anak or apo or relative na kasama, and this goes across all social stratas.

we can't kick out 18+ year olds from the house, to fend for themselves.
if we did that, in a few decades, wala na tayong mga duktor.
It's more on most Filipinos won't let their elders live on their own. Kaya vulnerable pa din sila living with young adults that do the errands.

This is great news. Baka yung medical community is already able to come up with a very good treatment protocol for covid-19 patients based on past experiences that is why mortality rate is down.
But we still have to lessen infections, grabe kamahal ng treatment ang it will drain the coffers of Philhealth and of the government.
