    I see.

But, is it not that, with WHO declaring it as a pandemic, there is somewhat a standard prophylaxis as a protocol used by health professionals among nations as well as reporting standard?

Yes, but most likely you assumed, correct me if I’m wrong, that previous mass testing was done by Thailand and Malaysia.

    Yes, I hope so.

The recovery numbers also tells that we are doing it right treatment-wise.

    And this inspires people.

i do not think there is currently a widely acceptable standard prophylaxis against covid 19.
prevention is still the prefered action.

a reporting standard would be nice. it is the logical way, if one will compare one set of numbers with another set of numbers.
alas, WHO may only recommend and not enforce.
it is up to the individual institution to decide how they may do their statistics.

there's no reporting standard coz countries have different testing criteria

there are countries that test those with mild symptoms, even without symptoms

there are countries that only test those with severe symptoms

so the number of recoveries will depend on who tested positive hanggang mag recover sila

if you didn't test those with mild symptoms and no symptoms, you never knew they were positive in the first place and you never monitored them until they recovered

    kaya di kasama sa bilang

if PH tested those with mild symptoms + no symptoms sigurado tataas ang number of recoveries

coz those with mild / no symptoms are more likely to recover than those who end up on ventilator

i am also wondering why DOH appears to be taking its sweet time, in evaluating and accrediting applications for covid testing.
is it possible that DOH do it fast enough, but the slow release of their evaluation results and recommendations (not by DOH, but by somebody else) to the media is giving the impression that the DOH is the one dragging its feet?
is it also possible, that the applicant laboratory's not-rapid response to the DOH's recommendations, is the one that is slowing the DOH's stamp of approval?

So, it all boils down to wherewithal.

I reckon Thailand and Malaysia are richer than the Philippines.

    ganun na nga.
we have to limit who to test, because we do not have the ability to test the whole lot.
our richer neighbors have that wherewithal.

    but i wonder,
are they testing for viral particles using pcr, or are they testing for the antibodies?

    Tested negative, obviously.

    So, it requires two testing.

    if i may,
they test for the presence of virus particles.
they can also test for antibodies.
both methods have their yeighs and neighs.

    bottomline,
we still do not know a lot about how covid 19 behaves.

there should be a metric among all nations, so that we could, if we can, copy their best practices.

    there should be!

    as an aside,
the ISO system for reporting laboratory results has been officially in place for several decades now.
but even today, there is still some dis-agreement among experts in the field.

uniformity in reporting is not as logically easy as it might appear to be.

hmm sa lgu/private hospitals na kaya i-aasa ng DOH ang pag-increase ng testing capacity? what happened to the 10,000 tests per day target? matatapos na ECQ [emoji51]

Give it up guys. Eunuchs have higher chances to survive this pandemic. Covid19 is nature's response to overpopulation.
