FDA says no evidence shown coronavirus is spread through food or packaging | WKRC

On the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website, they said they want customers to know "there is currently no evidence of human or animal food or food packaging being associated with transmission of the coronavirus."

This particular coronavirus causes respiratory illness and is spread from person-to-person, unlike foodborne gastrointestinal or GI viruses, such as norovirus and hepatitis A that often make people ill through contaminated food.

The FDA says because the evidence does not show there is a spread of coronavirus on packaging there is no need to wash down each package from the store.

They remind consumers if they choose to wipe down their groceries allow it to dry properly.

Public initiative of wearing face masks probably save HK, Taiwan and South Korea... None of them having to resort to any lockdowns.

Chae gave the example of how Korean and Chinese people had of their own accord began wearing masks and taking other precautions before any official guidance was issued by their governments. On the other hand people in Western societies hit hard by the virus, such as Italy and the United States, had waited until such actions were mandated by their governments – and the delay was made even worse by the fact that these governments had themselves been slow to catch on to the danger.

Taiwan at 400+ and HongKong at 1000+ are so far "success" stories in controlling the incidences/spread of COVID-19.

If the virus doesn't get you, the hospital bill will...

Hospital bills of late ex-Sen. Alvarez reach P8 million | Inquirer News

“‘Yung gastos. Napakalaki. Kahit kami ay nahirapan po sa gastos. Hindi rin naman po kami saksakan ng may pera [The fees are really expensive. Even us experienced difficulties in paying for the bills. We are not that rich anyway],” he said.

“Pero nagbabakasakali kami baka ma-reimburse kami ng PhilHealth dahil napakalaki po ng gastos. Sabay pa silang napasok. Hindi namin napaghandaan,” he added.

(But we are hoping that PhilHealth will reimburse it because the expenses are really high. They were both admitted at the same time. We were not prepared for it.)

The senator’s son likewise, lamented about how his parents had to fight the disease alone in their hospital rooms, since health protocols bar families from having direct contact with COVID-19 patients.

    yes, it is mis-leading.
the headline had absolutely nothing to do with the video.

    my question is,
what is the rest of the planet going to do with china?
hanggang video accusation na lang ba?

How is Valenzuela City mass testing?

JUST IN: Valenzuela City reports 20 new #COVID19 cases, including 18 asymptomatic patients.

This is the biggest spike reported by the city since it started localized mass testing last week.

This is the #COVID19 testing process in Valenzuela City.

We are using the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (real-time RT-PCR), one of the most accurate laboratory methods for detecting, tracking, and studying the coronavirus. The city chose the RT-PCR test kit because it's the gold standard for COVID-19 testing and detection.

The city bought the swab kits and extraction kits, our CESU med techs will collect the oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs from the patients, and then transport the samples to our partner labs, The Medical City and Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, Inc. for processing. The labs will forward the results to CESU within 48 hours (2 days turnaround time).

Philhealth will pay 100% of the bill for Chinese Virus if admitted before April 14.
Hospitals will bill you for everything they can think of.
