i posted that to show how outrageous theories are coz it seems people here love conspiracy theories

and that's a UK website

and i always said China's official coronavirus numbers cannot be trusted

i always said in this thread China is underreporting

i was always cynical of headlines like "Italy surpass China coronavirus cases" and "US surpass China coronavirus cases"

even before this virus thing i don't believe in China's official numbers (like GDP)

whenever they forecast a gdp number they always hit that number

that doesn't happen in other countries only China

my rule on China gov't is don't believe what they say look at what they do

consider the incubation period to symptomic phase to severe phase -- it takes about a month from catching the virus to getting sick to getting very sick

so the virus was already spreading in wuhan in November maybe even as early as October (i actually did post about that earlier in this thread... sabi ko 4Q 2019)

but it was only on Dec 31, 2019 that China informed WHO na meron outbreak of pneumonia sa Wuhan

So mula December to January (lunar new year) there was a lot of holiday travel going on

I am not pro-China. But at this moment in the pandemic, I don’t like to waste energy by always blaming China for everything that has happened. What I am trying to say is don’t put our eyes away from the US or other Western countries. Don’t you think the US is also capable of such thing you’re accusing China of?

Culture kasi natin is very American. We always agree with the Americans. We consider everything that they do is for the good of the entire world.

Regarding Japan, mabuti nalang may nag pullout from the Olympics, maybe that prompted the Olympic committee to decide to postpone the Games. What if hindi na-postpone and maraming nainfect during the Games, would anyone here have blamed the Japanese? I don’t think so.

The American disease expert, a medical epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency, left her post in July, according to four sources with knowledge of the issue. The first cases of the new coronavirus may have emerged as early as November, and as cases exploded, the Trump administration in February chastised China for censoring information about the outbreak and keeping U.S. experts from entering the country to help.

“It was heartbreaking to watch,” said Bao-Ping Zhu, a Chinese American who served in that role, which was funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2007 and 2011. “If someone had been there, public health officials and governments across the world could have moved much faster.”

Zhu and the other sources said the American expert, Dr. Linda Quick, was a trainer of Chinese field epidemiologists who were deployed to the epicenter of outbreaks to help track, investigate and contain diseases.

As an American CDC employee, they said, Quick was in an ideal position to be the eyes and ears on the ground for the United States and other countries on the coronavirus outbreak, and might have alerted them to the growing threat weeks earlier.

No other foreign disease experts were embedded to lead the program after Quick left in July, according to the sources. Zhu said an embedded expert can often get word of outbreaks early, after forming close relationships with Chinese counterparts.

Zhu and the other sources said Quick could have provided real-time information to U.S. and other officials around the world during the first weeks of the outbreak, when they said the Chinese government tamped down on the release of information and provided erroneous assessments.
