Could the different types of mutations be the cause of reinfection?

    Home School?

though it's an opportunity for the Deped to move the class vacation to the rainy season. Plan na ito dati kasi lagi cancceled classes because of the rainy season especially dito sa Manila na laging baha.

Sobrang tatamaan talaga tourism nito, though after quarantine sigurado lalakas mga resorts sa Batangas, Zambales and LU. Yung mga gustong gusto na kumawala sa mga bahay nila at gusto tumakbo ng beach (upper middles class). Mga ayaw muna pumunta airports may fear pa.

Lalakas ang demand sa online grocery store with delivery apps.

They'll start adding those who died at home in NYC to the tally...

NYC Is Taking Hundreds of Body Bags Out of Houses—and Soon They Will Be Counted

The coronavirus death count in New York City, already unfathomable, is expected to surge in the coming days as officials begin including people who have been dropping dead at home without an official diagnosis.

Emergency Medical Service data first reported by Gothamist suggests the undercount of individuals who have likely died from the virus is massive. On Tuesday alone, 256 people were pronounced dead at home across the five boroughs.

They did not specify when the city will begin reporting that data, but the decision to include the possible virus-related fatalities comes after Gothamist’s report about at-home deaths that were likely related to the disease and not included in the city’s reports.

While New York City reported over 400 coronavirus deaths in less than 24 hours on Wednesday, that number did not include those who died in non-hospital settings without a formal lab diagnosis.

What if this is the new "flu" of the flu season? instead of flu season, baka covid season na. Scientist are saying that this is 2-3x deadlier than the common flu.

and yung graph na pinost ko dito before, US flu deaths are in all time low this past few weeks so it's like those who have died in pneumonia are now considered covid death? may correlation?

Sa ngayon pag nilagnat ka at inubo, parang 80% may covid ka na agad

    dunno what your point is

if you're implying na exaggerated lang itong covid covid na ito

like what those right wingers keep saying that this is just the flu na-overhype lang na media

so how do you explain those overwhelmed hospitals in many countries including ours

if this was just another "flu" season i don't recall any flu season in the past na na-overwhelm ang mga ospital at madami namatay na doktor

or it happens every year pero ngayon lang talaga naka tutok ang media

    in my opinion,
suspending the mrt and lrt would be a waste of investment.
but if we were to practice social distancing, that might mean, only 15-20 passengers per carroza..?
is that worth the expense of running?

maybe the planet is one big petri dish

the virus is undergoing evolutionary pressure in humans

the virus is trying to live in humans while the human immune system is trying to get rid of it

    that pressure could produce mutations

Based on the experience ng HK and S Korea, wala naman ginawang social distancing sila... Just mask.

Social distancing is a western thing since they believed wearing mask is only for the sick... and the whites hate wearing mask.

Mask are better in catching covid infected droplets than staying 1 meters from a guy sneezing w/o a mask...

Until now, the Americans hasn't made wearing of mask mandatory, unlike those in the east.

The importance of saving face in Chinese communities cannot be underestimated - put on a mask and respect those around you

Yes, wear a mask but when and why? Here’s what you need to know - CNA

    Herd immunity

Immunity much higher than thought, says German study - Independent.ie

Many more people may have been infected with coronavirus and acquired immunity than previously thought, according to a study in Germany.

Scientists studying the town at the centre of Germany's first big outbreak said yesterday that they had found antibodies to the virus in people who had shown no symptoms and were not previously thought to have been infected. Their initial findings suggest that as many as 15pc of people in Gangelt already have immunity - three times as many as previous estimates. That would mean the mortality rate in Germany is just 0.37pc - five times lower than current estimates.

It came as Germany revealed plans to start Europe's first large-scale antibody testing programme. The ambitious scheme announced by the Robert Koch Institute, Germany's national infectious diseases centre, will attempt to map levels of immunity throughout the country. The study in Gangelt, near the Dutch border, is the first in Europe to research the virus effect on an entire community.

Scientists from the University of Bonn are testing around 1,000 people for antibodies, as well as current infection.

Initial results, based on around half the tests, found that 2pc of inhabitants were currently infected, and 14pc had antibodies to the virus.

Allowing for overlap, that suggests that 15pc of people in the town now have immunity - compared with the previous estimate of 5pc.

"The 15pc is not that far from the 60pc we need for herd immunity," said Prof Gunther Hartmann, another of the study's leaders.

"With 60 to 70pc herd immunity, the virus will completely disappear from the population. Then, the elderly are no longer at risk." (© Daily Telegraph, London)

May FB post not sure if true or gawa lang na kwento ha

summary: nurse working abroad, dahil na bump off nahirapan maka rebook ng flight, by the time na paalis na siya got held by BI daw may memo na bawal lumabas mga health care worker.

Umuwi lang for vacay yun hindi aalis for deployment. Hindi rin naman employed dito bakit mo i-hold? To volunteer?
