Sec. Palito said Sec. Ano would recommend a total lockdown. If it would include preventing people coming in he didn't say.

it all comes down to ideology
Human rights advocates endorse only social distancing and voluntary stay home coz that's the only way human rights aren't violated
And that's when great leaders are made. Making decisions that may not be popular but works.
This admin must get its act together and make the best decision for the country based on the best intel and reco that they could gather. That adds to the confusion.

Common good?
machiavellianism?
I wish i paid more attention sa social studies ko. hehe
Sec Panelo on what "total lockdown" means -- "all work will stop". The government will discuss later. Good luck to all of us.
Yan ang problema if discuss later the effects basta implement na agad.
Re checkpoints dapat talaga may PNP or AFP para sumunod tao. If volunteer health workers lang kasi yan or those from LGU's duduruin lang yan ng mga sisiga-siga at siyempre yung feeling entitled.

This is a good start. Balanced imho for provinces that do not have many cross border employees.
MM is a different animal altogether.

ito pa pala problema
paano kung mga taga province magswapang na ng farm goods para for their own consumption eh patay ang metro manila.
pwede naman na galing military ang kukuha nito... thermal gun o scanning lang naman ang gamit. at saka meron naman medical units ang mga military basta guided sila ng IRR. time is running out... it doesn't help yung parang sobrang bagal ang action.
kailangan siguro na i-divert yung mga funds ng ating tongressmen/senatongs at calamity fund kasi kahit anong sabihin ng gobyerno natin, kulang talaga sa pondo at di sila handa of this magnitude.
Kung wala available from DOH or the LGU yes I agree na for the sake lang na may thermal scanners sa checkpoint dapat talaga gawin na.

RE: Thermal Scanners
Our good Mayor just handed out a memo today dated March 13, requiring all establishments, building owners, etc. to buy thermal scanners and subject all people going in to thermal scanning. A memo which is already too late the hero, because thermal scanners are out of stock everywhere. Good thing our building already had this thought out weeks ago. Every man for himself, can't rely on govt, even LGU's.

As far as i know
All hospitals in Metro Manila right now are on Emergency protocol or getting ready to.
All hospital Employees and Doctors are on shifts irregardless of specialization.
you will start to see Dermatologist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedics, etc manning the ER or ICU.
All leaves and Vacations are cancelled.
the Hospitals will be swamped with people who might have the virus plus add that to the regular emergency they usually get and you have pandemonium.
Out of the 100 Million residents of metromanila there apparently only around 89,000 Hospital beds and around 1,000 ICU beds.
Do the math. if we reach the proportions like those in South korea and Italy then our Hospitals will be Overwhelmed.
There is a protocol of those showing mild symptoms of the FLU to just stay at home and Self quarantine. and to only go to the ER or hospital once certain grave symptoms.
