What can we do? It's their fear.

Shaider put it very nicely. Nasabi niya mga points i missed out on.

And no, hindi ako takot sa military or police.

Napanood ko kanina yun inventor nun test kit sa UP. He thinks it's better daw na targetes testing ang gagawin yun mga most vulnerable and hinde mass testing. Pag nag mass testing ka daw sa mga Asymptomatic more or less 2% lang mag positive. Ganun pagka intindi ko.

Those wild speculations about martial law and China invasion are kind of amusing.

[ANALYSIS] The flawed economics of Duterte’s partial Metro Manila lockdown

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    binasa ko ung buong article

For starters, malls have been advised to stop all their operations for a month. Considering that nearly two-thirds of our economy rests on consumption, and a third of our national output comes from Metro Manila alone, this spells a severe economic downturn.
    so ano gusto ng writer?

Besides malls, lots of other businesses will suffer huge losses as customers stay at home over the next month, presenting severe cash flow problems that could bury lots of entrepreneurs – especially small and medium enterprises – in debt.

Millions of workers risk losing their incomes, especially those who live outside of Metro Manila. Lining up at the checkpoints will add to their commuting woes, eat up their working hours, and erode their incomes.
so ano talaga gusto ng writer?

ang gusto ba niya social distancing ONLY with minimal disruption to the economy?

I only posted it's a de facto martial law.

Somebody else pointed out the military personnel in the background will be the norm. Sinasanay na daw tayo sa martial law. Lol

Wala po akong sinabing takot ako.

I even said if it's for the greater good, then why not?

Bro, i grew up in the province. 🤣

If may taong takot sa men in uniform, hindi siguro ako yun.

How about AFP medics not in full battle gear? Will that work?

Closed mall = no income. These are not people with paid leaves. No work, no pay. Bakasyon ka nga, wala ka naman pangkain.

If the malls continue operating, they remain almost empty but the workers at least get their daily wages. If the tycoons were truly altruistic, they would give a rental holiday so that tenants only have to pay wages as overhead and can operate with minimal revenue.

Unfortunately, it's the tenants and workers alike who suffer from the closures, while the capitalist mall owners still get their rental income.

i wasn't the one who used the words "martial law" as reaction to the announcement last week

actually i expected some people here to use those 2 words considering how cynical some people here are of anything this gov't does

and behold -- 2 people made martial law comments

    -

syempre in extraordinary situations like this gagamitin ng gobyerno ang military

    it's understandable

like the US will activate the National Guard

More than 15 National Guard troops activated for coronavirus response in four states - U.S. - Stripes

it's not like du30 was waiting for an opportunity to impose martial law on NCR all these years

and the coronavirus presented him the perfect opportunity

I was making a guess kaya may "?"

Anyway, do not chabge the topic yet.

What i meant by my reply to bratpaq's photo is " first time ko nakakita ng health worker nagrereklamo " and no, nobody is asking them to man the checkpoints.

What we want is since medical emergency to, so natural medical solution dapat. Yun yung mas focus dapat ng gobyerno.

Agree it is understandable given the circumstances. But also understandable that people do not trust this (very old) boy who cried wolf. Given the laundry list of lies perpetrated already these past years. If it were a different president without autocratic tendencies people may react differently.

Agree with this. The big boys can afford to lose a few months of rental income. Maybe even subsidize workers' salaries during this pandemic.

One job that could be taken on for alternative income is making reusable washable face masks. Not as effective as surgical masks or N95 masks, but if majority of people wore them, the spread could be mitigated.
