Sir Mike, pwede po ba malaman kung ano naging problema regarding your transmission and suspension? We just put up our reservation for a 3.2 manual and I want to know kung isa ba yung problem with your tranny & suspension
sa mga common complaints sa strada?

I've been reading some of the earlier posts dito and I'm impressed with the with how owners have been so happy with their stradas kaya naman I'm under the impression na reliable talaga sya kaya we chose the strada over a 2nd hand Pajero Fieldmaster. Now I'm having second thoughts about it lalo na kung madami din complains regarding claiming warranty of the car.

I guess na skip ko basahin yung mga common problems ng strada. hehehe Very active kasi itong thread na ito, dami na pages.

Sa mga strada guru's po natin dyan... mga sir's any inputs about common problems ng strada? Thank you in advance mga bossing sorry for the long post pala.

Welcome to the thread. Sir, regarding the transmission, its not a common problem and probably very isolated. So far, it's only Mike and me who had problems with transmission. Mine was resolved right away. I wouldnt include transmission as a problem.

If I was to recall the common problem, it's probably like this.

1. Uneven heights
2. squeeky suspension (rear)

Hi guys,

I hope to get my "truck" within the week. I got a call from the office yesterday and told me that it was already there. I told them to have the unit returned because I was still in Ilocos and would rather receive the unit myself. Strangely enough, they didn't bother asking me what tint to put and slapped on a medium gray shade. I told them to have it changed to the lightest shade available.

I hope the uneven height issue that's been mentioned in this thread doesn't appear on my unit. That's why I'm taking my sweet time receiving it even though I'm excited already. Once you receive it, you lose bargaining power to have things rectified.

By the way, how do you guys measure the height? From where do you start measuring?

Congrats po sa bagong truck bro skippy, if you want to measure it start with the bottom part os the mags upto the fender or from top of the mags unto the fender, make sure na nasa flat surface po kayo and hindi po sinasama sa sukat ang gulong.

Bro doc holiday yung problem sa suspension is the squik but the uneven height mukang ilan lang naka experience same with the trannies, and welcome po sa treand.

sir docholiday, since january up to now problem ko ang suspension ko, it's not squeaking anymore, krag sound na e. parang matanda na yung sasakyan. regarding sa transmission, it's a major problem for me because of the hard shifting, kailangan ko pang hintayin mag init ang makina bago ka makapag-shift plus the vibration and unusual noise from transmission.

Contrary to what some BOSB's have told me before na iba iba lang ang characteristics ng sasakyan kaya mine is just normal if not close to normal, the MMPC plant have admitted na they have already found the problem and have already fixed most of them. as per our conversation yesterday, they have found the transmission, clutch disc, preassure plate and release bearing faulty, plus the transmission and engine supports lost thread. They have replaced it all over and over again until they have perfected it. pinagpractisan ang strada ko.

Today ok na ang ride ko except for the krag sound in the suspension. Diamond Motor Q.A. ang gumawa. At 20k km PMS bukas sa kanila, suspension ko naman ang pagpapractisan nila.

I didn't say na lahat ng suspension and transmission eh may problema. nagkataon lang na sakin napunta. malas malas malas.

I had the steering column replaced also due to clonking sound and feel. - lumambot and steering but lumakas and steering kick.

my other problem is surging, jerking, unpredictable enginine braking
inconsistent throttle response - sticking or reving up during change gears.


what a piece of crap. 7 months of pure headache.

geez these last couple of pages are all about complaints, tsk tsk , wag naman sanang mangyayari tong mga probs na'to sa 3.2 m/t namin over a week old pa lang, so far very happy naman sila.

kanina daw nakipagsubukan yong bagong dmax along very stretch highway, ayon parang tricycle na nilagpasan. no challenge! sabi ng bro ko.

sir, with all due respect, the forumer asked for common problems of the strada. And we are referring to our market. So, from all the posts, i just mentioned two things... with your experience sir, maybe yours would be isolated cases here in the Philippines. Maybe I can add the steering column problem, but recently, I haven't really heard anyone complaining of this problem to new delivered strada. so I am back with only two major problems being seen in new acquired strada's.

Basta ako..happy ako with my ride....(im thinking positive that it will last for a long time and keep me happy). positive positive positive thinking.

since i upgrade my tire, front and rear shock
the ride is smooth...
Im planing to put some weight on my TRITON...
Try some upgrading...

3500rpm na lang pero it was going much faster than this before the pic was taken
Factory tires so didnt dare go above specd speed for too long
Anyway, 1 year later no problem so far
Some strange noises coming from somewhere , nothing that a loud stereo cant fix

Sir Av8or5, I was confident po na yung uneven height at squeeks sa suspensions are easy to address kaya nag pa reserve pa rin ako ng 3.2 manual. natakot lang ako after reading yung mga other concerns ng iba nating owners. hehehe specially pag may mga service managers na naghahanap ng way para ma void yung warranty. But in the end I think isolated naman yung ganung problems.(I hope)

Another question mga Bossing. what can you say about the 4m41 engine
of the 3.2 4x4? Is it as reliable as the 4d56 engine of the 2.5? Ang alam ko kasi, 4d56 engine has been tried tested na daw and hindi mahirap ang maintenance? Bago lang po ba ang 4m41 engine? I never owned a mitsubishi
brand kasi and no experience with mitsubishi diesel engines/car.

kudos to sir nismo26 for such a positive response . the strada is NOT a perfect vehicle, hence its quirks. but in almost a year of driving my strada and my observations with the other stradas owned by the club members, 99% of the usual complaints have been remedied and resolved.

change of topic naman.... last weekend, i saw the sturdiness of our stradas. one club member figured in an accident (no one was hurt, thank God for that) with another pick-up of the same year model (guess na lang kayo). yung strada front bumper lang ang tama, major gasgas lang and driveable pa, but yung isang pick-up laglag ang axle and naputol pa ang molye. it needed a tow truck to move the darn thing in order not to cause traffic. even the other pick-up driver commented that "ang tibay pala ng strada, dapat ganyan pala ang binili ko!"

Bro me diffrence sa sppecs between aussie and phil strada one major is the diff lock, and pls let me know kung me balak ka mag vacation dito medyo excited ako pag me punta dito kasi 3 yrs na ako hindi umuuwi diyan sa atin mag 4 years na pala hehehehehehe.

The 4M41 engine is design and released late 2004 and early 2005, so far wala naman siyang masyadong problem not like the 4M40 so far my truck is 4M41 AT 2005 model until now wala ako major problem but still mas malakas ang pushing power niya kesa sa 4D56 and in any major off road, i use it wala ako problema kayang kaya nya most obstacle.

I feel sad every time na meron hindi na satisfied sa truck nila kasi para sa akin ito ang pinaka magandang truck in asian production i've try to drive almost every pick-up truck ito lang ang masasabi ko na talagang matibay at reliable (bayas nanaman ako kasi mitsu baby kami ni missis ever since)

With your 3yrs experience with the 4m41 engine I feel good now to go ahead and order a 3.2 GLS sport manual. Choice of color na lang problema.

I will just cross my fingers and hope na wala naman major problem yung magiging strada ko.
