Dudes,
I just received delivery of one kick ass black 3.2 gls sport. Hehe
Initial impressions:
1) Trying to get used to the steering. It's a point and shoot affair on my Mazda 3. Very precise. I guess it's unfair to compare it to that car as the steering is weighted.
2) Pedals are a bit soft both for the brake and the throttle. Of course, I'm coming from a sedan driving point of view.
3) The interior is quite austere. Which is how the way I like it. It is a pickup after all. The headunit isn't that friendly and I need to figure that one out.
4) The alarm doesn't come with a manual. I have to figure that one out as well. I just had the sales guy put it on "silent" for now.
The only purchase that I need to do is the sportlid. Casa is offering it at 60K (carryboy hydraulic). Have you folks had experience with them installing the lid?
Really appreciate all your help. A big thanks to Dadz, Patriarch, et al![]()
Hello all. I own a 2008 outlander and planning to buy a truck. i'm choosing between ranger (wildtrak 4x2 m/t) or strada (glx or gls m/t).
ranger because of their offering of limited edition kit that comes with it [roof rail, back-up sensor, etc..] and mostly because it's 'built tough' and already comes with abs w/ ebd (safety is no.1 for me). also, ive heard mas fuel efficient daw ito(?).
strada because of its new style, sedan-like ride, spacious cabin with better crash safety (wala nga lang abs w/ ebd), etc..
strada glx = cheaper with little less features.
compared to ranger wildtrak, konti na lang idadagdag ko sa budget, i can already get the strada gls 4x4. Although i dont need the 4x4, it's a big plus. who knows baka kailanganin ko in the furure. My only hesitation on strada is the issues of leaf spring squeaking problem and the ride height problem as what i have been reading in this thread. having said this, leaning more towards strada pa rin ako lalo na very satisfied ako with our outie.
Anywayz, i am just sharing hoping to hear some encouragements from BOSB cousinsty!
As bro silverend said kahit dito wala din sa list ang ranger sorry po kung me masaktan, dito mostly gawa ang asian pick up, i can say strada is one of the best i use it tough on road and off road if you like check out one of our clubs pic in this web just select the pictures below.

For 20-inch chrome rims, how much tire pressure should I maintain?
hi guys, when's the next metro manila eb?
really impressed with the strada. i'm still in the process of acclimatizing myself to the dimensions but this truck is so good that i forget that i have a tail!
mall parking isn't that much of a problem. the big side mirrors help and the lack of a real rear bumper aids in approximating the distance from the back when you're looking at the edge of the bed as guide.
plus side really is that i drive more carefully because steering, while very convenient, is not a point and shoot affair. i drive fast with cars but i take a different approach to driving a pickup as they're not built to really weave in and out of traffic (although you can).
if you're a long time sedan owner and thinking of shifting to a pickup... strada will make the transition really easy and comfortable.
pasensya na guys for my first grader type of exuberance. first time eh![]()
hello sir eerb525- sorry this came in late... i think u are the 2nd B.O.O.B. i know who is keeping an eye on the strada...hehehehe
We are aware that the strada may not have the ABS+EBD plus the glitzzy features of the Ranger, but this can be compensated with the following:
1. The front disc brakes is considered to be big for its size. the brakes, can give linear stopping power and it may be similar to one that has ABS+EBD - according to my friend from MMPC.
2. The squeaking leaf spring problem is present not only in the Strada but also in another leading pickup. But the bottomline is, despite this issue, this can always be a warranty claim and that includes the uneven height. Im pretty sure other pickups have thier own issues, its just that i dont have a lot of time to search for them... hehehe
3. With all its indifference that i have seen, including a slightly smaller pickup bed, The Strada makes up for this by improving the passenger cabin- this is something that the Ranger has to work on. The Wildtrak model may look good but for you and your passengers to feel good in its not-so-roomy cabin may make you frown.
if i may suggest, go for the GLS. im VERY sure the 4x4 will come in handy in the future- you can swiftly go to 4H on a rainy day for added traction- especially on high-speed driving. and enjoy class leading features- like the RV meter, Rear power window, upscale looks to name a few...
Looking forward to whatever decision you will make. Thanks and Drive Inspired.

Bro ianmitsulancer strada 3.2 also have abs-ebd, for safety it have 2 airbag, a side impact beam for side impact and a bigger chassi tama ba ako bro hehehehehehe, have ypou got the brochure yan lang na padala ko kasi yan lang ang meron dito and medyo kapos yung nakuha ko dagdagan ko na lang papadala ko bro av8or5.
*dadz, thanks very much po... i met with sir G01 last night during our EB with another fellow BOSB- Boz. Thank you very much for the brocures- now that i have a clearer picture of the MegaCab variant... hehehe looking forward to the others from bro av8or5.
Yes sir, you are correct!the 3.2 GLS Sport 4x4 M/T and A/T has the ABS+EBD package. what i was refering to sir eerb525 was the current 2.5 GLS 4x4.
the 2.5 GLS 4x4 used to be the top-of-the-line dito with ABS+EBD and A/T option since its launch in September 2006. On August 2007, a line-up restructuring happened- that was the time when they downgraded the 2.5 GLS by removing the ABS+EBD and deleted the A/T option and slotted it as a standard item for the 3.2 GLS Sport that was newly launched at that time. i can chat with u soon for a clearer explanation since u have our brochures na po... hehehehe....thanks
MMPC silently launched a "Custom Edition" for the 3.2 GLS Sport M/T and A/T... i still have to see a memo or brochure of what are the add-ons... if anyone knows about it, please share po... thanks![]()

ianmitsulancer: Mine is a GLS Sport 3.2L 4x4 A/T.
How much tire pressure should I maintain for 20-inch rims?
Thanks bro. I'm in the process of upgrading my tires to 265/70 AT and rear shocks to RS 5113 as you've suggested. I know you can relate to my concerns having plied the roads i usually travel. It's kinda hard to find a 17 inch tire though.
Mobil1 fully synthetic is designed for petrol engines, can it be used for diesel engines also?
to BOSB, can we install a steering damper to our ride?
many thanks.
Hi Patriarch, thanks! Nov28 before 10pm, right? I'm free that day. I guess you guys will be at the back parking lot?
