"The shafts on most turbochargers spin in excess of 50,000 RPM and generate lots of heat. To keep your turbocharger's heat under control, most are cooled by circulating oil or water (coolant) around the shaft. The turbocharger's shaft is free to rotate at will and there is no way to stop the shaft from spinning after shutting the engine off. To dissipate and stabilze the heat in the turbocharger, most manufacturers recommend that a car be idled for a period of time after moderate to hard driving to allow the oil/water to take heat out of the turbocharger.
Failure to reduce the temperature of the turbo could result in the oil around the shaft "coking". Coking is basically the baking of oil, turning it into a hard substance that could plug your oil lines and cause oil "starvation", preventing proper cooling of your turbocharger and reducing it's operating lifespan. "

So tinatantiya ko kung gaano katagal ko ginamit and how long ang timer ko. Bale so far as i know depende kung ano pag kaka tantiya nag gumagamit.

    ahhhh I see....thanks sir dadz!

I set mine for 2 minutes bulacan(marilao) to ortigas...I think its already adequate...

The plastic bed liner of the strada should be the same for all since galing lahat ito sa casa. Ganito rin ba ang bed liners nyo? If not, dapat ko ba papalitan ito for a new one?

    Thanks!
i suggest you bring it back to them and have it checked, dapat even yan sir. the liners was installed here and not in thailand.

in the normal scheme of things, i don't think a turbo timer is really needed.

if the purpose of the turbo timer is to delay the turning off of the engine after the turbo has been engaged, then our everyday driving habits and the state of our streets already accomplish the purpose

our everyday route usually goes like this. start, slowly drive off to our destination, spirited driving while in the highway, stop and go driving in busy streets, then on our way home another stop and go driving in busy streets, finally before we reach our house we slow down, we wait for the maid to open the gate or otherwise we go out of the vehicle to open the gate ourselves.

from the above normal driving conditions, it seems that the only way the turbo operates is when we do spirited driving in the highway and sometimes during stop and go driving in edsa. on occassions that we are on busy streets, we usually drive at a crawl. at the front of our gates, we let our engines run on idle.

to cut the story short, we unconsciously become human turbo timer ourselves so that the installation of an electronic turbo timer seems to be not that critical or essential.

    just my 02 cents.

    Thanks for your reply sir.

I already contacted my SA and have informed him of my concern. I hope to bring the strada to the casa for their visual checking soon. My preference is really just to replace the bed liner.

    Thanks again!

Para sa akin pareho yan na super depende kung saan mo gagamitin, 3.2 bigger engine and mo Hp and torque kesa sa 2.5, but gas consumtion siyempre mas malakas ang 3.2 tipid naman and 2.5 that's for me.

Let's wait for everyone's idea.

its really on what you need. major difference lang is bigger engine w/ higher torque. Dadz is right on what he previously posted.

there is really no advantage or disadvantage of either variant. again it depends on the purpose of the customer. the best thing is to get a copy of the brochure and compare the two variant. but if tamad ka magbasa, the difference from gl to glx are the following:

    chrome garnish on door handles
center panel dash above the aircon controls have a lid
    dual airbags
mag rims 16x6 instead of old reg steel rims
    rear bumper
    rear third brake light
    bed liner
    step board
    front fog lamps
    alarm

some people want to dress their ride the way they want and they can get some of the accessories i stated above at a cheaper price. but for me, the difference in cost cannot substitute the dual airbags and orig front fog lamps and switch.

    same engine, same braking system

Gud day fellows i got my ride last day , and i agree with the pros of the truck and its inevitable not to push the pedal but i refrain to go beyond 100kph and its true that 140 kph is no sweat to reach its very responsive. ill post pics later. But one thing I notice or maybe its my first time to drive a powerful diesel engine, it goes like this from 3rd gear when you slowly stop shift your gear to 2nd then as i release the clutch without the pressing the gas pedal aarangkada sya (sorry naubusan ako ng english) is this normal? how do term this. but in general shes awesome.

hi sir, my previous post was answering a forumers question between the GL and GLX. Unfortunately sir, ABS is not available sa GL and GLX. Sir, if you want ABS and EBD, then you have to purchase GLS.

welcome and congrats sir... hmm.. i dont remember if i have tried that from 3rd to 2nd..i dont usually use engine braking, i guess it also depends on the rpm that you were at..it should not speed up... how many times did it happen? were you suppose to engine brake? cause if that was your purpose, your rpm should shoot up and start slowing your car down..but it depends on the speed in which you came from 3rd to 2nd. your speed maybe low and when you placed in 2nd, the torque of your engine kicked a bit in. please give more info on your speed prior to releasing it from 3rd gear to go into 2nd gear.

sir, please read one or two pages back, it was answered recently. best thing sir, just check everything about the car... impt, fit and finish of the car, uneven height, transmission, all accessories and dont forget your tire lock...bili na kayo agad...not the chain type, but rod type. or both.

maybe nag shi-shift ka ng 2nd gear while mabilis pa yung speed mo? like nag shift ka na ng 2nd gear when your running at 50-60kp/h? tama po ba yung sagot ko? hehe.
congrats sa new ride mo sir! join tha club na! we would appreciate it if may pics ka sa strading mo.

it just shows that your vehicle is torquey or in simple english, so powerful that at 2nd gear it could move itself on mere idle throttle. hope i'm right.
