Hi sir av8or5 and ThePatriarch i really like to join club and the activities kaya lang medyo nahuli ako ng konti. actually i brought my ride in the province for safe keeping muna. i will be out of the country on 1st week of nov. for 3 to 4 mos. if you have any activity with the club next week i would like to join. i hope its okey without the ride.. for initial membership para pagbalik full time na. sir pwede nyong palang ma post ang link ng website ng strada club at affiliates nito? thanks...

*sabadun- i understand po and we wish u the best of luck in your endeavors as well.
as far as an EB for next week is concerned, pls keep yourself posted regarding the club's weekly mini EB. Yes, u can attend even though your ride is at the province for safekeeping (i second what thepatriarch has mentioned). Also, there is an affair with Tsikot- The Autober Fest today, saturday as mentioned by sir Av8or5. i would like to encourage you to drop by as fellow club members will be there- but you (as well as my fellow BOSBs) will have to excuse me kasi i tried to ask for a leave at work but it was declined- due to staffing reasons here.

*Clone911- a gray GLX Strada is also appealing! sorry to hear that you had to wait for "eternity" for a red one to show up at the dealer. please keep us posted as you get your unit in the coming days po.

hmmm... come to think of it, dumadami na ang mga taga-mindanao ei!

*tancho_kuhaku- musta na penpal? hehehehe... no need for you to say sorry. in fact, the phone should say sorry to you. musta na si black beauty? just keep those questions coming.

*bikolana- welcome to the thread! congrats po. nice GLX with fender flares you got there! tanong ko po... what happened to the center cap sa front wheel? I believe sir Bluemica is from the bicol region- i'm sure you will hear from him soon.

sige sir..we hope to meet you in one of the meet-ups planned for the year. Just bring a copy of proof of ownership in one of the meetup, i think that would suffice for now.

By the way I am from mindanao particular Cotabato City, my unit will come from Gen. Santos.

*Clone911 - i highly recommend following the manual for break-in. don't run beyond 100kph, no abrupt starts and stops and no racing the engine.

hi guys! will finally get my strada on monday. adobe grey GLX. i live in Binan and I see a handful of stradas here sa area namin especially sa Pacita pag nagbabantay ako ng shop ko.

this forum really made me decide to purchase the unit. very good inputs. this is my first diesel powered vehicle so the forum is really quite informative on impt items to check.

just some querries to the experts here for clarification:
1. according to the SA, di na raw kailangan ng turbo timer kasi CRDi na raw ung makina and advanced na raw ang technology nito?

2. what are the "essential" accessories that needs to be purchased whether for aesthetic enhancements, security, safety or performance? in order of importance? sabi nung SA unahin daw yung tire lock kasi madaling manakaw yung gulong. i made him give it for free hehe...

3. related to #1, what is the proper way to shut down the engine? nasanay kasi ako na inaapakan pa yung accelerator para "i-pump" yung engine before taking off the key. paano sa inyo?

more power to this group! hope to join you in the next EB's

ako, i followed the usual way... no sudden acceleration/braking, limited speed up tp 100kph, etc... ok naman performance ng engine ko ngayon

as for the membership... nasa planning stage na ang davao EB... some of the officers might go there para mag-accept ng membership from the mindanao area... or if you happen to dropby dito sa manila, feel free to inform us para we can have an instant mini EB just for you... viola! member ka na, hehehe

congrats in advance sa ride mo sir jjmoto... im sure hindi ka na makatulog ngayon in anticipation... hehehe

to answer your questions:
1. turbo timer is designed to protect and cool down the turbo after prolonged/hard driving... although not 100% needed, this device adds to the life of your turbo... PhP2,500+ price of turbo timer vs more than PhP50,000 price of a new turbo if it bogs down prematurely... that would be the choice you have to make. also, i think binobola ka ng SA mo kasi the turbo timer is not in any way related sa CRDi engine...
2. buying a tire lock is a good advice... buti you got is for free. rain gutter is functional... fender flares and body cladding put more 'muscle' on the looks of your strada... perforated leather seats with matching leather cover for the steering wheel... 17" mags with mickey thompson ATZ tires for better ride, handling and braking... hardtop bed cover to protect your belongings... teka parang mods na sa strada ko mga yun ah! hahahaha
3. dude, pumping the accelerator then suddenly turning off your engine will have an adverse effect on the timing... no disrespect sa iyo but that practice should be limited sa mga jeepney drivers (para daw ma-clear yung carbon deposits sa mga old diesel engines)! the proper way to turn off your engine is to let it idle for a few seconds to normalize the idling (if you dont have a turbo timer) then swith it off. ganun lang kasimple

we surely hope to see you sa mga future activities ng club. drive inspired!

Bro jjmoto tama si bro ThePatriach needed ang turbo timer fro me. When you run your truck the oil is passing in the turbo and the oil is hot making the turbo hot. If you sunddenly turn off the engine the remaining oil in the turbo will burn yan ang maaring sumira nag turbo. Turbo timer with the set time keep the engine running until the every thing is cooled down including the oil and the turbo. Sa pag bomba naman nag gas pago mag patay ay talagang ginagawa lang nag jeep or auto para malinis ang carbon at nag mag add nag charge sa battery para next time e mag start ulit.
