Sir, have the same dilemma as maimaicomp. Would you know kung kasya yung 245mm or 275mm tires ng 4x4 strada dun sa dating nilagyan na mags ng 205mm of the 4x2 GLX? based on the specs kasi 16"x7" alloy mags yung sa 4x4 GLS. tapus 16"x6" lang naman po sa 4x2 GLX. Compatible po kaya on both mags yung tires ng 4x4?

Right now I'm using 265/70R16 on a 16x7 mags, so sa palagay ko kasya yung 245/70R16 sa 16x6 mags.

what are the specs of the tires in the glx 4x2? rims are 16"x6" right?
for the gls 4x4 kasi its 245/70R16 and the rims are 16"x7". I think yours (for the GLX model) is a 215/70R16 tires.
my previous answer was based on my own experience sa strada ko na pinakabitan ko dati ng 285/70R16.
My bad. I forgot yours has narrower rims. Im very very sorry.Sensya na, tao lang.
I was wrong to advice youthat kahit 285 is pwede sa glx na 6x16 ang rims. 285 will NOT be safe to mount on your 6x16 rims. Even 265 is not safe. Both are wide tires and are not safe to be mounted on narrow rims (6"x16"). A rim that is too narrow in relation to the tires' width will allow the tires to distort excessively sideways under fast cornering.
As much as possible, only add 15-25mm to your stock's treadwidth. As I have previously adviced, stay close to the specs of your stock tires/rubbers if you will not be changing your rims/wheels. So for the Strada glx, 235-245 tires would be a safe choice. Hence, stock tires for the GLS ay pwede sa mga GLX. easy lang sa mga kurbada. never attack corners at high speeds.

With regard to the issue of installing a Turbo timer on our stradas, which was discussed during the eb, do read this link from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_timer
I hope this helps.

^ After reading the article, several questions come to mind.
1. Does the turbo charger always engages? or does it only engage at certain rpm or speed?
2. What happens if the turbo timer fails? Is it fail safe?
3. Does one really need it in MetroManila where it is very seldom that anybody can drive at speeds higher than 80 to 100kph?
Anyway, its not worth that much, and I plan to install it since its a good feature to be able to start and let the truck run for a few minutes in the garage. Especially if it is not being used often.

Did some driving yesterday from Bocaue to San Fernando via NLEX..then went to Clark to process my 'OFW' documents. Afterwards I drove back to via NLEX from Dau to Balintawak. I was driving occasionally driving 120 to 140kph. It was a pleasure to drive 80kms without traffic...until I paid 180 pesos for the toll.
Then I proceeded to go makati via edsa, traffic..traffic.., stumbled on two potholes.finished the transaction at makati and went back to bocaue. I decided to top up diesel at Petron(NLEX near Marilao) and check my Fuel consumption, I got 9.14 Kms/Li. I think it was not bad for a 3.2Li since my driving style was not ideal, especially at NLEX.

For the Strada GLS 2.5L, I think the turbo engages at around 1800rpm-2000rpm. For the GLS 3.2L, im not sure though as I have not yet driven the 3.2L. Maybe its turbo also engages around the same rpm range. Plus, to have a decent speed, diesel engine should run with an average rpm around 2500-3500. So most of the time, the Strada's turbo is engaged.
A turbo timer is just a timer. So most of the time it is fail safe. If ever it fails, your engine would still be idling when you get back to it.Your only loss would be the diesel, which doesnt come cheap this days.
Do you need it? it depends if your a very patient person.
After you parked your Strada, you can wait for a couple of minutes before turning of your engine. In short, your a human turbo charger. Hehehehe. Hassle lang if your in a hurry. For me, its a cheap gadget to protect a very expensive system of the engine (turbo system costs around 150k I think). So I would rather have one installed, rather than suffer 3 o4 4 years later for the cost of repairing the turbo.
