Mine is a white GLS '07, got it Dec '06, approaching 7000km on the odo kasi di ko naman masyado nagagamit. No mods yet, as in nothing. But I'm planning to change the rim with ralliart, yung stock ng fieldmaster. What I know is it's a 16" rim, don't know the rim's width pero I hear 2 sizes daw yun. Mitsu reps don't have definite answers about this. I'm just waiting for the rims to arrive.

    Moxxxs,

How did your 285's perform on the stock rims of the strada? Is the extra offset not messing up the truck, I mean yung mud splatters ba e huli nung fender flares lalo na't maulan ngayon?

Are the GLS models not equipped with a turbo timer?

    Thanks!

Sir Jet A-1, are you going to get the webbed design of the ralliart mags or the six spoked design with engraved ralliart logo in one of the spokes??

Ok naman sir yung 285 sa stock rims. Tumaas ng konti ang ride hight.
Mud Splatters ba kamo??? For me, the muddier the better
coz its a pick-up truck. Only used it when we went to Aurora Province via sierra madre. Manila, i use only the stock tires kasi yung 285 namin sa bahay tinitipid pang bundok lang....hehehehe....medyo mahal kasi.

AFAIK, all models ng Strada dito sa Pinas walang turbo timer.

Moxxxs, thanks for the quick reply. Oh yeah, you're right. I almost forgot that what we have is a truck. But to be honest with you, I have never gone offroad yet, no plans din. Except perhaps for the occassional lubak and unpaved road dito sa probinsya. That's why I treat my ride like a car. Bought the truck mainly because I need the truck bed for my dogs when we travel.

I'm getting the six spoke. Do you have the numbers and what tire size and brand do you recommend?

About the turbo timer..What brands do you have in mind and how much will they set us back?

    thanks!

Hindi ko pa na-drag race silang dalawa.... kaya my answer would be subjective. Mahirap din i-compare because of obvious differences:

    1. strada -pick-up (lighter); everest- suv (heavier by 200kgs)
    2. strada- 2.5L M/T; everest- 3.0L A/T

But, to answer your question, there's a big advantage of the everest VGT turbo. There's no turbo lag unlike in the strada wherein you have to wait for the rpm to reach 2k before you'd feel the turbo kick in. In street driving, it's a hassle during overtaking at slower speeds.

I like them both, but if I have to choose which one I would drive on the streets based on power, honestly, I'd say the everest due to the VGT.

    Jet A-1,

Bilib ako sa yo bro, 7k kms in 12 months. Yung sa akin, 28k kms na in 13 months

If you want thicker tires, go for the 265s (allowed in the manual). The 275s or 285s would be noticeably heavier, therefore decreasing performance. Pero kung "puro-pomahans", maganda siya.

Get the Bridgestones A/T Revo 265/70R16 (just like mine hehe...). It's got good reviews and are quiet too. It will fit on 16x7 to 16x9 wheels.

There are other good all-terrain brands as well. Pero kung hindi ka nag-o-off-road, get highway biased tires.

BTW, one big reason why I bought a pick-up is because of dogs, and sometimes I train them in areas with rough terrain where a 4x4 would be useful.

    hi, comment lang po muna
2007 everest and my 97 nissan eagle
    same lang naman speed nya
di naman ako maiwan-iwan on road
    running * 130-150kph
mabilis kasi ang nissan pag 5th gear na...

    Bout my 3.2 strada
I can feel the turbo * around 3000rpm or more
Without turbo, you can still feel the pulling power...
I dunno the sound or how turbo works
But i can hear a whistling sound when i hit 3000rpm
and i can hear the engine really growls....
The only thing i'm afraid of is
Im running 180kph along pigcawayan - libungan, north cotabato
Coz its about 15-20km straight line road...
I'm afraid of blowing my tires...
180kph is not enough coz my strada needs more....

The funny thing is and i hope u notice it
    * city driving, my fuel consumption was 9km/l
    and while maintaining 80-100kph, i get 9km/l
    while driving * 140-180kph, i get 12km/l
    any good reason for this?
    tnx

BTW, bout the everest and my nissan eagle
Im not telling that my nissan is fast nor everest is slow
but i dont think he can outrun the strada....
Sorry po. but its the way i feel

    +1 on the Bridgestone tires.
+1 on the 275s and 285s being heavier, puts more stress to your differential. But looks great

Sir Jet A-1 ang baba ng mileage mo. pwede po bang mahiram and strada nyo?? test drive lang po ako ng 3.2.

Well, you have to at least drive your Strada on some rough roads to enjoy and compare its advantage over cars.

Sorry, I dont have the numbers for the six-spoke ralli art rims. As to the tires, just like what Sir Drave said, you will never go wrong with bridgestones. As to the size, the 265s would be perfect. You may also consult the tire store where you will be buying your tires.

As to the turbo timer, no idea what brands are ok. The cheapest I think is around 2k and the expensive ones are around 4k to 6k ata. Haven't installed one yet though.
