Good evening mga Pajero Master and owner.
I just wanna share my experience with my recent calibration. After several adjustment finally my suking calibration center got it right. Ok na ngayon yong takbo ng Pajero ko, runing just like before. Thanks guys!

sir kcboy, your right timing belt nga yung bumigay, I was so disappointed nung naoverhaul siya agad, supposed to be 100k kms ang palit ng timing belt. laki ng binayaran sa casa for overhaul, 170k discounted na yan sa price na yan.

flicker, no problem bro, glad to hear nawala yung hiss. nasa things to do ko na yung buy knn sa luwas ko this weekend, sana makakuha ako.

larshell, pics pics, wanna learn aling part yung nasisira? how much gastos sa parts and labor? symptoms lang ba niyan is matagal mag shift sa 3rd gear? para di ka magdouble post use the post reply, wag yung quick reply.

    + 1

magkano yung sensor sa ibabaw ng injection pump? nagpa-calibrate din ako nung May then napansin ko late na magshift ng tranny ko. tapos medyo malikot din yung tranny lalo na pag pataas ung daan. aakyat ng 2nd gear then bababa ng third gear then aakyat nanaman. i was thinking na baka may kinalaman sa sensor na sinasabi mo sir larshell. hmmm... and may i know kung san ka nagpa-calibrate?

regarding sa A/T light sa dash diba umiilaw naman talaga yun upon turning the ignition to on pero nawawala din?

just a word to you pajero guys, wag nyo sagarin yung mga life expectancy ng parts nyo, sa timingbelt, 100,000 kms daw iba ang driving conditions ng pinas, even sa PMS, wag nyo sagarin dahil masmahal sa longrun pag nasiraan kayo. always take care of your daily driven vehicles because at the end of the day, it is our safety and the well being of the people who ride in our vehicles thats important.

Adjustable left right with two screw.

The rest less than 2.5Rpm. Constant step. Pag bumaba yong rpm diin ulit hangang umabot 4th gear. I will observe more sa speed naman.

noxious, I paid 6.7k all in pati sensor. Sensor is not Bnew. Blinking yong A/T light engine running.

    promdiboy,

inthe 13 years and 95,000kms that i drove my gen2 pajero, i changed timigbelts 2times, one at 40,000kms and the other at around 75,000kms. once i saw some stiffness and wornout teeth in the timing belt, i just change it, the belts are cheap, it's the labor to replace the belts that's expensive, but you can't put a price on peace of mind and safety.

i believe geb 2.5 pajeros 4m40 are already timing chains so no need to worry about the timing chain being broken.hehehhe

sir kcboy, bilib ako sa maintenance mo sa pajero mo, my dad says im sick kasi pinapalitan ko kahit di pa sira, dapat pala makwento kita sa kanya.

anyone here experience na parang may mahinang sumasayad na sound sa steering wheel? parang may maluwag na plastic ring sa likod ng airbag. or yung wire ng airbag sumasayad yata habang iniikot steering wheel. Im sure yung plastic ring ang sumasayad but I dunno what its for. havent found time to open it up, baka meron na sa inyo nagpaayos.

I really love that FM sharing lang po...

    God bless

hi guys, I would like to share my forum thread with Dieseldude.

Me (words in black); Dieseldude (words in red)

Dieseldude, tanong ko lang po. I had my 4 nozzles replaced and installed by Betan-Makati last month (my engine is 4M40) to correct the black smoke. After the installation, wala na ang smoke. However, ngayon mahirap magstart pajero ko kahit maiinit na ang engine (so i think not the glow plugs ang reason). What i did, I stepped on the gas pedal (maximum to the floor), with this, magstart na siya after few revolution of the starter motor (around 2-3 seconds). what do you think is the problem?

    Possible problems are:

    1. glow plugs or preheat system
    2. weak battery if your cranking speed is low
    3. air in your fuel susction lines
    4. injection pump
    5. low compression pressure

Your engine needs glow plug assist even when hot if it's mileage is high due to normal wear on the piston rings and liners. High mileage = low compression pressure = low ignition temperature.

    Start with 1, 2, & 3 before considering 4 & 5.

Ang mileage ng Pajero ko is 80km. Your compression should still be fine at 80k kms, not unless your engine has experienced overheat condition/s.

I wonder also, I have been replacing glow plugs every six months (starting last year) and mitsubishi parts pa, which cost 1.8k/pc. Mahal talaga ang original Mits glowplugs, but they last long.

do you think something is wrong with the electrical, that's why the glow plugs got busted easily? Possibilities are:

    1. You may be buying fake glow plugs.
    2. Preheat system is defective, voltage is applied to the plugs on an extended duration.
    3. Injection pump may be causing a hard start condition. Prolonged and repeated starts puts a heavy strain on the glow plugs as they are cycled and energized everytime you do a start.

Last, how to check the battery if it needs replacement? kasi kaya pa nitong magstart. Many thanks for your help. Low cranking speed is a good indicator of a weak battery if your starter, bat cables and terminals are in good condition. Motolite etc. can check your battery. You can also do a voltage drop test while cranking.

Do you experience hard start and hesitation during morning starts?

Dieseldude, thank you for the reply. You are really of help . Just an update, I removed the glow plugs last night, to my surprise 2 are not working and the other 2 are still fine.

Of the two glow plugs that are still working, one is already +10months old, while the other one is still 3 months old (kasabay it sa pag-install sa other 2 busted glow plugs). I wonder why this +10 month old glow plug outlives the others? and its located in the 2nd cylinder (starting from the front). Does location matter? No, cylinder location does not influence glow plug life.

or the "new" glow plugs which are installed at the same time were just fake?I'm not sure; but this is a possibility. Close inspection might answer your question.

Ok, ill check with the preheat system. Tama kaya if i test the preheat system like this? Ill remove one glow plug (the one still working), attached to the wire leading to the glow plugs, and turn ON the keys (but not crank the engine). If the glow plugs remains glowing after the heater light turns off, therefore the preheat system is defective because it extended the duration of heating the glow plugs = short life of glow plugs? No, this is not the way. The system may not even preheat if only one working glow plug is hooked up as it will see a wrong resistance value.

Injection pump may be causing a hard start condition. Prolonged and repeated starts puts a heavy strain on the glow plugs as they are cycled and energized everytime you do a start.
Hopefully the injection pump is still working.

Do you experience hard start and hesitation during morning starts? I experienced hard starting in the morning and also in the afternoon. This morning what i did, before cranking, i stepped on the gas pedal to the floor + turn ON the keys twice (without cranking, just to extend the heating of the glow plugs ), and cranked. Once lang ang cranked ko (around 2 seconds) umanaadar kaagad ang engine with 2 hiccups (but I stepped the gas mid-way, so na wala na ang hiccup) Install 4 good plugs, and check if engine easily starts in the morning. If you still experience difficulty in morning starts, injection pump may have to be checked.

Many thanks again for the inputs. You are welcome...

sunlife advisor, nakakabilib nga malaman na may bumibili parin ng FM, its not really practical, but siguro they followed their heart.

cylinder head cover seal (half moon) - P 91.62
    (part no. me200269)
cylinder camshaft end seal (half moon) - P 91.62
    (part no. me200270)
rocker gasket cover gasket - P771.65
    (part no. me200403)
    labor - P 350

    total - P1,304.89

there's nothing wrong with using surplus and used tires on your pajero, as long as they are in good, reliable condition meaning the treads patterns are still thick for maximum grip and no bulges on the sidewalls so no unexpected tires bursts and flat tires while driving you pajero. drive safely.

Sir PB, thank you for the reply. I think something is really wrong with the electrical system going to the glow plugs. By the way, pardon my ignorance what is CDC?
