Yun ba talaga may problema or yun sa computer ng montero ang may problema, if gas filter ang problema diba it means we are using dirty diesel and i am using a petron turbo diesel. Any suggestions or comments?

Also i am disappointed to hear a new and better montero which was launched this month plus the cruise control function and camera, kakainis para sa mga owners na kagaya ko ang laki malamang ng depreciation sa unit yan! Thinking of selling my gtv and upgarding to the 2012 model.. do you think its a good choice?

    thanks
The bigger upgrades on the 2012 model was done on the gls-v variant. On the gtv, IMHO, only the upgraded aircon vents is the only significant upgrade. However, existing vents on the 2011 model is very much sufficient. I even hardly use the 3rd row aircon. Cold air from the 3rd row is as cold as the air coming from the dashboard. Someone posted that on the 2012 model, the vents on the 2nd and 3rd row seem to not have the same level of coolness compared to the air from the dashboard. I dont know if its true though. Also, montys from other countries seem to stick to the old setup up of aircon vents. The new 2012 aircon vents seem to be more logical though and maybe Im just "sour grapes" hehehehe.
You have to consider that the biggest depreciation on the value of a vehicle is during its first few years. If you upgrade now, you will be losing more than the actual depreciation of your 2011 model since you will be absorbing the depreciation of two vehicles on its first few years. By the time you sell your car in the future, second hand buyers will be more concerned about the general condition of your vehicle. They will not be focusing on the minor features that your 2011 does not have such as cruise control, back up camera, etc.
As what sir zix has also suggested to me way back, I gas up with seaoil. I never had a problem so far with fuel filter, egr, ecu.

other upgrades are the cruise control and rear view camera (had to buy this aftermarket)

while others look at model year to determine depreciation, most will check actual date of purchase and reckon it from there

thus, even if you sell a 2012 model in may 2012, it will be depreciated by the total number of months you have actually owned and used it

So true, I also noticed 2nd and 3rd row vents take more time to cool up whereas the 3rd row vent emits the same temperature as the front vents, you would know coz of the moist that appears on the left 3rd row window. Front a/c is more than sufficient for me.

But sirs I noticed that the 2012 cabin is quieter. But outside engine sound is the same. When i rev with all doors and windows closed it is quieter. I don't know, I don't have a decibel scale, I just feel it since I've been driving both. Did they install sound deadening or something? Or something's wrong with the 2011?

    wooot!

on 80% city and 20% highway driving, i have logged 270km on my odometer and my gas guage is still at exactly 1/2 with 300km distance left to the pump

however, will check on my next top up what my manual FC computation is

I wonder how accurate the MID is with regard to remaining distance of the diesel left in the tank. My two readings of fuel consumption are 9.2 & 9.98 kms/liter with 90% city traffic with spirited driving.

yup i agree with you that the front aircon vents of the montero is suffiecient to make the car tempterature cool! The 3rd row vents are seldomly used as a friend of mine even jokingly told me "patented in your eyes aircon" referring to the third row.

    thanks for the reply!

lowest reading on the remaining distance of the diesel left is 50km, after that it will go blank, that was when i tried to check how far it will go until it would stop. Purely city driving when i did 80kms but didnt go further even when i brought a gallon container of diesel just in case, but changed plan and immediately top up, naisip ko baka me makakita sa new gtv with no plate pa at that time naubusan ng krudo, hehe. Bottomline if your reading went blank, you can go 80kms pa safely to the next station.

when my display goes blank, the gas gauge needle is still actually a bit above the second to the last line

Yup, halos synchro yan sa diesel warning sa instrument panel when it shows, usually dun nagbablank yung sa MIS. meron pa reserve na 10 liters more or less. I tried topping up as soon as the MIS goes blank, in 3 readings halos 10 liters nga ang reserve

sa akin hindi synchronized sa low fuel warning lamp

in my case, blank na ang reading sa distance to pump in my MMS but my low fuel warning indicator lamp is not yet blinking.

i can still drive about 10kms and manage to get to the gas station but my low fuel warning indicator is still not blinking.

at this point, the gas gauge needle here is a bit lower now than the second to the last line though not anywhere near the empty fuel line

Oh in that case, we have different MIS setting, coz definitely our fuel warning will illuminate at the same level of fuel left, since pareho lang mga tanks and floaters natin, right? Dapat pala actual na lang pagcheck how far pa it can go when the MIS go blank since different pala settings ng mga MIS natin. Have you tried checking how many liters left when your fuel warning blinks?

blank reading starts at the last line before hitting empty.

thanks. no wonder sira yung last 2 rv meters ko. on both occasions, the reading goes blank even without the low fuel warning. then the figures for average speed and FC also freezes

this was a symptom of a busted rv meter

    Good Day,

Just would like to ask to those MS owners that installed a headrest monitor kung DVD lng talaga ang pwede idisplay nung monitors? The winterpine personnel tested the unit with a movie saved in a USB and an ipod movie ayaw magdisplay sa monitor, naka color blue lng sya. Called their main branch sa aurora blvd/service dept. ganun daw talaga AVT head unit, DVD lng daw pwede ilabas sa ibang monitor. Nagbabalak panu ko papalitan yung headrest monitor ng ibang accessories n lng kaso bakit naman itetest nung taga winterpine araneta USB n ipod nya kng d pwede? Inquired also about the TV tuner, wala pa daw rinerelease ang AVT, meron na po bng nakapagpainstall ng TV tuner sa AVT headunit?

    Many Thanks

    hahahahaha

    marami na tayong ng waaahhhh!

di bale, under warranty naman so obligasyon ng winterpine/autovention na yan to replace it

    hassle lang sa oras natin

like i said, sobra talaga ang pull ng kumpanya na yan sa mitsu to be able to supply such crappy products
