Those are big wheels . Roads not good enough here for those

The photos are display inline on my computer. Could you click edit and after the word 'tire' click return, and do the same between each photo

Well my CASA manager came good to his word. Approved the free LTO as well as standard discount. I could get a slightly better deal sa NCR/Luzon region but am satisfied and don't need the hastle of transporting it etc. to Southern Leyte.

No word on actual delivery date; except that I am very top of the list (I booked and paid deposit in January).

    Folks,

Next month, I'm choosing between the G.Starex and The Monty 4x2 GLS-V.

I'm just waiting for the test drives with the family to see.. I'm also currently canvassing the aftersales costs.
For the G.Starex, I'm computing for a cool AV upgrade since its a family Van
And for the Monty, I'm now canvassing for the Tire upgrade, since its got the AV unit only ( I would definitely add twin monitors but thats about it)

    Question:
    a. Whats the ideal (balance between comfort and looks) size of the rims? 20's?
    b. How do these rims costs and its tires? Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot

Get aftermarket monitors since those from the dealership costs roughly twice as much

The stock wheels of the Monty still is good. You might want to rather save the money if you're on a budget since good 20 inchers can be priced 80k upwards.

I'll stick with 20-21 inches. 22 inches seems too firm just by thinking about it. Besides, off-road vehicle dapat Monty eh... I personally am not a fan of performance tires on Monteros.

If you step on the pedal having an rpm below 1800, it's a tolerable lag, and only happens if you are on D, but if you are using the paddle shift and rpm is 1800 and above, there is no lag. I'll upload pics after I mount my 28"s wheels tomorrow morning.
Sir, I'm driving a 2010 3.2L monty, is the power difference significant? can the 4m41 engine keep up or stay close to the new 2.5 vgt when running ?

Seriously, the vehicle looks out of proportion with these wheels.

Have the chip modified to increase power of the 3.2 engine. The 2011 GT-V has 5 speed automatic transmission though, it might be more fuel efficient.

Mostly due to lens distortion. If wide angle lens (or zoom setting) was not used and the photo was taken on a level plane standing up, it would not look so disproportionate

Last time I checked the spec sheet dapat hindi ganun ka-layo. I would have actually liked a 3.2L turbocharged engine sayang yun trend now is turbocharging smaller displacement engines. You can expect the VGT to add more oomph from the lower RPM range (turbo lag comes with it too) but the 4m41 should be able to keep up in the long run.

The 3.2MS is already turbocharged but not yet VGT. For phase-out nga yan until such time siguro na may market na uli for high-displacement SUV. IMO pang-Pajero na lang muna yan as far as MMC is concerned.

Any way we have our own individual optical illusions :-), kanya-kanyang interpretation at perception, kong ang vision ay ma-transmitted na sa brain ang result ay either you will appreciate or you will criticize.

During late 80's until early 90's in the U.S. and some in the Philippines the "BIG FOOT" trend of a modified pick-up (hilux and etc.) kumalat. Just imagine a size of a farm tractor wheel and other earth mover wheel, yon ang ma-icompara nating mga sukat ng mga gulong nila. Kaya nga siguro yon ang reason kong bakit na- appreciate ko ang montero na may 28" wheel :-).

During that time a lot of fanatics gathered to witness a "Big Foot Show".

Kung ganun ma-appreciate ko rin. Off-road look. 18s with 80 series tires or bigger.

Pero yung malalaking mags tapos parang walang tires. Not my type.
