There are three low end models to choose from also.
Buti pa ang Dubai may all new Lancer na. Dito sa atin nagpapakakupad ang Mitsu sa paglaunch nito.![]()
guys, this is a very nice car. I saw this personally in a car display in a mall in malaysia.
wait for it if you plan on purchasing a car in the future.
Guys,to answer many of our questions why the new Lancer will have a change of where it will be produced, why it is delayed and perhaps other whys you have in mind...
...On why the new Lancer will be delayed:
"The Lancer Evolution X and its more tame brother variants, in fact, are living it up to rave reviews in the United States, where it has already been launched. Which brings us to the bad news. The Philippines, being among the smaller markets to share the left-hand drive setting with the United States, is on the short end of the stick where allocation is concerned. While Mitsubishi Motors Philippines officials were initially confident of a last quarter of 2007 local launch, demand in the good old US of A has left them pondering on a more realistic first quarter of 2008 release date. Which means we’ll all have to wait a bit more before Mitsubishi’s ace makes it to local shores."

Mitsubishi on the upswing

...On why the new Lancer will come from Japan:
Mitsubishi's bland passenger car line-up could become even blander in the future. Despite on sale in world markets already, the all-new Lancer, aka Galant Fortis in Japan, has yet to see the light of the day in Thai showrooms.
Sources told Motoring that there is no immediate plan of making the new Lancer at Mitsubishi's Thai plants yet. One reason is the mounting stocks of the current model.
The other factor is on economic ground. Since 2002, annual sales of the C-segment saloon have never exceeded 10,000 units. Last year, just 3,000 were delivered to Thai customers.
"In order for the Lancer to be profitable, we need to make at least 30,000 units per year (including exports)," lamented one highly reliable source. "Perhaps, at least 10,000 units in domestic sales could help justify assembly."
While some industry analysts believe fate of the new Lancer still hangs in balance, remarks made by the source could mean that Thai assembly may cease after three generations were made here over more than 15 years.
It is understood that talks about completely knocked-down kits have not commenced, nor have negotiations with Thai parts suppliers started.
It is a general rule that components makers need to be informed some 18 months (modern-day flexibility could be reduced to 12 months) in advance before a certain model reaches commercial production.
And even if Mitsubishi decides today to continue assembly in Thailand, the Lancer will go on sale in 2009 at the earliest. By that time, the Lancer would reach its mid-life in other markets and preparing for a facelift. Also, rivals will be eating shares away.

Chasing numbers
This proves to show that MMPC is following whatever its Mother Company MMC can provide the Philippines and the ASEAN region- siyempre agawan yan sa units in Japan. Yes, we will be delayed from the Lancer. But realizing how lucky the Philippines is- that we don't have the stringent rules of Thailand, also, knowing there is a definite plan of bringing in the Lancer EX unlike Thailand where it is still in Limbo. This also shows wherever we are getting the units for sale from around the world (Japan, Thailand, USA, Taiwan and the Cainta Plant). It may be a repeat story when we had to wait for the JT Lancer for the whole year of 2002 only to be launched in January 2003. So guys, keep your money in the bank muna- it can earn in time deposit pa for you to buy accessories pa! Now, MMPC must device a way to outsmart Toyota by launching the Lancer EX earlier than the Toyota Corolla Altis that has just seen the light of day compared to the Lancer where we saw it all earlier this year at the NAIAS show.
Good Luck, MMPC.
called up a couple of dealers the other day, most of them still have no idea when the new lancer is coming out (they give march as an estimate) but someone from citimotors ortigas told me that they just had a meeting regarding the lancer and set 2nd quarter 2008 as launch date.
grabe naman ang tagal niyan
nag-propromo ngayon ang mitsubishi for the old look lancers....
GLS selling at 760+ kasing presyo lang nang vios 1.5G
hmmmmmm....napapaisip tuloy....how good kaya ang CVT GLS gas consumption..
sana hindi fortis ang lumabas na model satin sana CBU japan talaga yung galit na shark mukang galant level ang itsura ng fortis e hindi sporty tignan in my opinion![]()
Mitsu had better hurry up and release this.... dami nang competition and each day they delay will lead to sales for their competitors.
Ya, they better release it before the new Corolla comes out...
I kinda heard around 2nd quarter ren next year yun
hay naku ewan ba sa mitsubishi kung kelan paubos na ang bonus saka sila nila i launch..ano bang diskarte yan?????????
According to one I've asked from the plant (and from my sales manager), it would 'possibly' be launched by April (or maybe later). Well, we're still hoping it would be earlier! Correction, wala pong Citimotors sa Ortigas, Diamond Motors po yun.
Regarding the current Lancer, the other Lancer trim, GLX (M/T) retails at P613,000 only (includes the all the discounts and the Dec. Promo of additional P10,000 off).
