I have breached 20k odo reading but I am still able to reach 9k/li and above per full tank. Here are some I follow since it works for me. These are not the ultimate scrooge driving tips though.

1. Plan your route. Shortest is not always the most efficient. I'd rather go with the longer route with long stretches than the shortcut with a lot of humps and uphill. I also lump errands (when I have any) based on location so I don't have to use the car unnecessarily.
2. I've read somewhere that coasting on a gear is better for fuel consumption than coasting on neutral. This is also safer given that going neutral on a downhill is inviting accidents. All opportunities for coasting are maximized.
3. I don't warm up the car. I find that there is no need. So far no problems encountered. I find that idling the car decreases fuel mileage. Just don't floor the gas or drive hard from a cold start.
4. When at a traffic stop for more than 15 seconds, I switch off the car. This might be non applicable for you guys in the lowlands since switching off the car engine is tantamount to no airconditioning. I still use aircon all the time here in Baguio but I have the advantage of going without aircon for a few minutes.
5. I maintain a tire pressure of 36 psi. Stock wheels for the GTA. Wider tires and softer tires also play a factor in fuel mileage. It used to have 40psi from factory. There is probably a good reason for this but I find 40psi too hard.
6. I don't go faster than I have to. I sometimes have to wake up earlier to avoid traffic and to avoid rushing. It helps a bit. Also related to planning your route.
7. Keep a cool head and keep your pride in check. I don't go driving after the driver who overtook me since I am not in a rush. I also know that the difference between me and the overtaking driver in the next traffic stop is only a few seconds or minutes. It does not make much of a difference as long as I reach my destination intact and on time.
8. Preventive Maintenance is done regularly to ensure that the car is functioning as it should be. A few bucks spent now will save you gas and possible repair cost if the car is not taken care of.

Well that is all I can think off but 9k/li is possible with the car.

guys just want ask, may idea ba kayo kung may mga differences ba between spare tire and yung mga original na nakakabit sa car na tires and mags.. nagpalit kasi ako kanina, napansin ko yung isang gulong kaiba sa lahat kasi yung weights nung spare tire may nakadikit na 30 and 15, not unlike dun sa iba na 30 and 25..

The original & spare wheels are the same.

The balancing weights on the wheels may not be the same on all the wheels because each wheel & tire are not made exactly alike. They are off-balance by a few grams on way or another. Hence the need for balancing weighs.

Price is a little high but quality is good. Their specialty seems to be doing stuff in CF.

guys share ko lang, grabe talaga tipid ng lancer ex gt-a, from manila to baguio full tank wala pang 1/4 nabawas, automatic stop lang yung pinakarga ko, xcs po.. overall naman po 1/4 ang natira. not bad for a 2.0 may kasamang pasyal pa kasi yun.. may nakasalubong din ako nung pababa kaming baguio naka gray na ex, thanks kasi binusinahan nya ko, hehe..
