Its the 5-door hatchback equivalent of the 240PS(237hp) 2009 Lancer Ralliart that should go gainst the new Impreza WRX.

The 5-door Lancer was originally intended for the European market, no info yet if it will be sold outside Europe.

com'on guys! mitsu deserves some lovin'! the '08 lancer is already very potent contender against the "reigning" car of the previous year. it's about time the lancer to sit in the throne

I agree. The Lancer deserves to be back in the game. I just hope Mitshubishi gets it right before they release it here (I've read a lot of disappointing reviews from other sites). I'm a Toyota fanatic but the new Corolla is just bland.

Know what guys cant help myself to comment on the latest arguement ninyo dito . I guess each car has their own pros and cons.

But as for me Ive chosen the Lancer over the Civic EX , Nissan Sentra 08, Corolla 08 and Mazda 3i sport. Ive test driven all of those cars before I bought my Lancer GTS. The performance is comparable nothing really significant as many would argue. I guess many would have expected some real power with the GTS considering it is a top line but sorry it does not have that which is ok lang. Why? e I am not looking for a race in a road naman If I do then evo x ang kukunin ko pero almost doble ang presyo and magmumug ng Gasolina. Some of my friends here na may evo e at least for 5 days e $60 ang gastos nila yikes! As I have posted before GTS/CVT cosumes 22-24 city driving and somewhere above 30 MPG in long hiway drives not really bad but average.
The thing is the looks is way far above the Civic, Sentra, Mazda and Corola.
Inside features is of course much better also (aside from the door panel na medyo nasobrahan sa plastic) Magnessium alloy pedals, Blue tooth, Navigation system, Hard Drive, DVD LCD Screen, Sensor entry/ignition start, auxillary/I pod jocks, bucket seats, etc gets you excited driving it. I think the hard drive is not intended to be taken off as uso rin ang auto accessory burglary dito and siguro ganun din sa atin sa Pinas.

Lastly Ive gone through price check ups and I was able to get a good deal. That is I squeezed the dealer to sell me the car for only $17,700. The tax is 8.6% so mga $19,222 ko lang nakuha. That is at least $2,000.00 below the sticker price.

Kaya mga kababayan if you want something different with a pleasing look that you dont need to worry about adding any exterior mods e Lancer 08 GTS/CVT is for you.

according to the article the lancer consumption is at 7.7l/100kms or approximately 13 kms/l

Considering the Civic is not made in Japan and for sure Corolla, along with Mazda 3 and Sentra, Lancer would be a great car with the pricing of less than a million.

No need to make the Lancer in Thailand.
The new Lancer is CBU from Japan, and they plan match the prices of the Thai made models from Toyota and Honda.

If they do plan to offer the 240PS AWD Ralliart model here, I'm guessing it would be in the P1.6M-P1.7M area.
Subaru(Motor Image) should watch out.

PS: "EX" is part of the name, in some markets including the Philippines the all-new Lancer is called "Lancer EX". So the sporty GT model is called Lancer EX 2.0 GT.

Thanks pards! my first color option was really blue but then sobra in demand ng color na yun for a GTS dito. For the whole North Eastern States e isa lang ang available when were buying it at nasa Delaware pa! Just wait for the 30 mpg pics kasi medyo ma snow sa area namin ngayun and pangit gamitin at madulas sa kalsada ang FWD.
