It could be from Japan like the new Outlander and Pajero.
Currently the new All-new Lancer is on sale in North America and in Japan as the Galant Fortis, both are made in Japan.

hmmm... kung made in japan siya, baka mahal rin siguro yung price niya tulad ng sa outie. sana ang price nya is equal to the tag price in US. daming savings kaagad nun.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

If you think about it the CBU from Japan Outlander isn't really that expensive considering that V6 and AWD are standard.
Its priced much lower than the AWD Rav4 2.4, and cost just a bit more than the Thai built AWD CR-V 2.4.

The new Lancer could be sourced from Thailand or Taiwan(no news yet about production starting there), but there is a chance that it could be sourced from Japan.

Only Fuzion, Strada, Adventure and L300 are sourced in South East Asia. May possibility na CBU Japan to!

    I checked the US prices...
the outgoing Lancer Evo IX MR is priced at $35,189 = Php1,622,213 Actual local price: P2.86M!
I guess Mitsubishi just wanted to make money here.

Hopefully the GT model in the spy pic(equivalent to the USDM GTS?) would cost less than P1.1M.

I'm guessing that the lower end Lancer models will probably be powered by the 144PS (142hp) 1.8 liter DOHC MIVEC engine(4B10) to be launched in the Euro spec Lancer.

In the US, the low end Lancers use the same 152hp 2.0 liter MIVEC as the sporty GTS.

If the 2008 Lancer were really Japan CBU, then it would be priced at a disadvantage compared to the local assembled Civic, Focus, or even the soon-to-be Thai CBU Corolla, because of the 30% tariff slapped on it.

Mitsubishi will find a way... look at their new CBU from Japan Outlander.
    GLS V6 (AWD) P1.488M, 223PS 3.0 liter V6
    Thai-made CR-V 2.4 (AWD) P1.45M, 170PS 2.4 liter inline-4
    RP-made Escape 2.3 XLT (AWD) P1.34M, 157PS 2.3 liter inline-4
*considering the Outlander is a higher end V6 model, its priced quite competitively.

Theoretically, if Mitsubishi ever decides to sell the 2.4 liter Outlander here, it would obviously be priced less than their P1.488M V6 model.
My estimate would be P1.3M, which would make it a direct competitor to local and thai sourced SUVs.

I'm sure Mitsubishi will try to price the new Lancer as close as possible to the equivalent Civic and Mazda 3..

^Interesting! So this can only mean that toyota is OVERPRICING the Japan CBU Previa and RAV4!

the bigger engine will be neutralized by its heavier body, being 200 lbs heavier than the previous models. tingin ko baka mas makupad compare to civic, corolla or mazda.

New Toyotas are really getting expensive, even the models sourced from Thailand.

dami expansion ng mitsu lately. may new showroom sila sa alabang westgate. dami kasi new models. tapos talagang hinuli pa nila yung market eater - the lancer. hope it sells well.

...lalabas na daw kasi yung new models ng corolla at sentra sa 2008. baka lumabas na rin yung Civic Si at Focus TDCi. daming competitors!

let's see kung magkano yung new vios. baka nasa 700-800k range na ito!

-baka maging competitor pa ito ng lancer if the low-end model of the lancer costs 800k...

    i hope so too...

owned a pizza lancer before and that has been my main complaint. so does many lancer owners that i know. that has been the bane of their vehicles, a perennial problem that they cant seem to solve.

What about the old CBU from Japan Lancer Evos, do they suffer the same problem or is it with the locally assembled Lancers?

Malaysia already launched a site for the 2008 Lancer and Evo X.

Looks like they might get it ahead of us.
