Wala naman kasi bumibili ng MT so it's not worth having an additional SKU for it.

I guess driving the 2.0 right before the 1.5 made the 1.5 feel slower than it really is. But with a 12s 0-100 time, it's about as fast as most 1.5s/1.6s..

I think M/T on the 1.5, baka madami kumagat. Pero sa 2.0, malabo. Just imagine M/T coupled with skyactive.

I'll go for white unless you want to hide that big grill. White is also easier to maintain than black and it's more visible at night.

Kung desidido ka talaga mag-MT try asking Berjaya if they can bring in one for you.

Initial FC result (Mazda 3 2.0L Hatchback)

April 30: The unit arrived and filled it with Blaze (Euro 4 blah blah, Full Tank) that night. Left Makati to go to Taguig with moderate to heavy traffic. Drove from Taguig to Pasig with very light traffic.
May 1: Drove around Metro Manila with light to moderate traffic.
May 2: Drove from Pasig to Makati via C5 with moderate to heavy traffic. Drove from Makati to Taguig with moderate to heavy traffic. Drove from Taguig to Pasig with very light traffic.
May 4: Got curious about the FC so filled it up again.
    Result: 9.5 Km/L

The FC might not be impressive but we just love driving the Mazda 3. Even my wife, who doesn't really care about what car she's driving, suddenly fell in love with it. Sarap daw i-drive! Well, we're not really experts but it really feels different when you're in the car. You really feel that you're ONE with the car (parang sales talk lang haha). We have driven a Civic EG, Jazz, Elantra and Optima. Among all of them, Mazda 3 is the most fun to drive. Kung may chance na ihataw, gagawin namin! For me, tama lang yung timpla ng EPS (not too light). As for acceleration, it's not the fastest but it doesn't diminish the fun factor while driving. Di ko pa nasubukan yung paddle shifters, lagi kasing traffic pag ako yung nagd-drive hehe.

Naiilang pala wife ko sa i-Stop so she turns it off everytime she uses the car. Medyo ramdam kasi yung pag-on ng engine. Ako naman, I use it whenever I can. I just leave it on and not press the brake fully if I don't want it to engage.

I hope this helps other prospective buyers. I'll report my next FC after a few weeks

Saan ka po sir nag-apply ng loan? Is this thru in-house or bank? And gaano na po katagal? I'll be applying na rin for in-house probably tom. But I will also apply for a car loan sa bank ko just to have comparisons on who can provide a better deal.

By the way, I'll go for white kasi yun din kukunin namin for the 1.5V.

Nice! Thank you sir for this info. Very helpful indeed. Will look forward to your next FC report.

One thing lang regarding sa fuel. I read in Mazda Makati FB na recommended fuel eh yung regular fuel lang with octane level 91 to 93. (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...levant_count=1)

So pwede pa pala makamura (well at least for those na gumagamit ng premium gasoline) apart from the fuel efficiency ng skyactiv.

Nagcompare ako ng deals and malaking diperensya between in-house and bank financing. Sana lang wala/bawasan nila ang DI.

Actually, I'm after the Euro4 grade gasoline (for the claimed eco-friendliness). If I have time, dinadaanan ko yung Unioil sa vicinity ng area namin. 95 octane ginagamit ko sa Unioil.

So fuel consumption is around the same with the heavier CX-5 2.0 in the city. I expect it to be lower given ~200kg weight difference, lower ground clearance, and more of stop and go ung conditions. I won't say because of break-in kasi ganito rin city driving ng CX-5 during the break-in period. We'll stay in tune. :-) And hopefully pala some Mazda 3 1.5 owners will share their FC figures. I'm curious what it yields in the city.

I also read here na kailangan mo masanay dun sa handbrake.. i felt the same way too.. hehe!

i asked the SA kung pwede syang lagyan ng reverse cam and according to him, like the navigation option, they're still in the process of looking for a compatible accessories for the reverse cam.. just like what happened to CX-5 when it was first launched here. sana pwede talaga syang lagyan ng reverse cam kasi when i was driving the hatch, medyo di ko makita talaga yung bandang rear when i was in reverse.

trunk space... i was surprised how big the trunk space of the sedan.. kaya siguro na-apektuhan yun rear seat space kasi masyado nila naurong yung seat to give way to a more spacious trunk. i don't have any problems with the rear space kasi i can move pa din naman, di lang sya talaga kasi laki ng new city.. i just hope that they flatten yung nasa middle kahit papaano so it would more comfortable especially dun sa uupo sa gitna.

now, i need to drive the mz3 1.5 para i can decide which car to buy PLUS still waiting for the FC result of the owners. sabi kasi ng SA sa akin, yung FC 1.5 daw is at par na daw sa 1.3 ng ibang car brands.. i'll just have to wait and see
I'm getting 12kms/l on my 2014 1.3 vios (ODO = 5000) just to give you an idea.

I think global demand din is one big reason why we're not getting so many variants, let alone a huge allocation from the factory. It was mentioned in one of the press releases of Berjaya.

On the average 2.0L compact cars yield 8kpl in city driving; CUVs 7kpl. 1.5L on smaller cars are supposed to hit 10kpl (city driving). Mazda's SkyActiv engines are supposed to be better than that since it is a high compression engine.

I have a Mazda CX-5 2.0L and I get 10kpl on city driving (moderate traffic) without really trying consciously so I expect better from a smaller-framed, better aerodynamically-engineered Mazda 3 2.0L.

Thank you sir. I have applied for in-house financing yesterday. Sa BPI daw muna i-aapply ng SA namin for the free insurance. Then tomorrow, I will also apply for a car loan directly sa BPI.

If ever ma-approve, malaki ang chance na we will go for bank financing. Kasi sa ngayon, hindi pa makapagbigay ng discounts or even free chattel/lto ang mga dealers. And I asked my SA if ever we opted to go for bank financing, makukuha pa rin daw namin yung same freebies na ibibigay kung sa in-house. So magkakatalo na lang talaga sa interest rate which I believe na ang bank ang clear winner, no doubt.

Btw share ko lang, when we got to the dealer yesterday, naka-park sa entrance yung soul red 2.0L variant. The moment we saw it, me and my brother had our smiles again (the same feeling nung first time namin siya nakita sa BGC) I dunno, but there's something eh lakas ng appeal haha... In the end, instead of getting the 1.5 variant, we decided to stretch our budget and get the 2.0L na lang haha..
