    that's almost 10 km/l average on city
Driving style does matter if we want to maximize our fuel. As I've mentioned in my earlier post I do have a heavy right foot and with the M3 just begging to be driven fast, there are lots of times when I would just have to step on the gas and enjoy driving and not think about FC (in which case, goes out the window). This is especially true during my first two weeks of driving my M3. But lately I've been consciously monitoring and maximizing my FC, and I am now getting approximately an average of 10 kms/L on my recent FC reports.

yup, i'm with you sir. regardless of driving habit, I'm happy to hear your fc feedback since before you, we only have 2 accounts and both of them logged 7.5 on city. It's exciting to know that while being hard on the accelerator, the 1.5 could still get that frugal

Like you, i drive my 2nd gen (my wife's actually) relatively fast. I usually shift between 3.5k to 4k rpm
i'm still contemplating on getting a 3rd gen for myself but when that time comes, it would be nice if i get better fc figures while maintaining my driving habit

What's the difference between the Keyless Entry System of the V & R models? Both have push start / stop button so I assume both use a smart key for this.

The V does not have a Keyless Entry System sir, so you will still need to press the unlock button on the remote to unlock the car.

The 1.5 V has an immobilizer.

The request switch on the door handle is not available in the 1.5V. The "Advanced" keyless entry is only applicable on the 2.0R variants.

Curious about this also. I know for sure that the 1.5v can effortlessly reach Baguio but I'm just wondering how it will perform with 5 adults inside, especially on steep grades.

Btw, saw a number of 3's since yesterday in Alabang and Paranaque. I saw three 2.0 and two 1.5v. Forgive me for counting pero just thinking how both models are selling.

May nakapag trigger na ba ng car alarm sa inyo? Hindi ko kasi matest kung paano yung behavior pag nag trigger yung alarm. May separate horn ba for the alarm or tutunog yung busina at magflash ng lights? May nakalagay sa manual pero di ko mapa trigger.

Roll down windows, close door, activate alarm / lock, reach inside to unlock and open door.

    or

Stay inside vehicle, have some arm / lock vehicle from outside then exit vehicle.

Some of my noted FC figures (1.5 sedan, 1k+ kms):

Approx 90% City driving 10% highway (Full tank method):
    7.929 km/L

Pure highway (ACTEX-SLEX-C5 - onboard computer method):
    18.18 km/L

    Thanks for the reply Walter.

Alarm was not triggered on my 2.0.

Mga bossing.. Have you guys heard that the sparkplug for the new m3 is php 1,700.00 each? That's almost 7k for a whole set change...

Good if your're still within the yojin3 period... Pero imagine how much maintenance costs you will have to shoulder afterwards...

Makes me really think twice in getting the m3.... Tsk tsk tsk...

bro, you were mis informed...a set (4) of MZ3 spark plugs cost php 1,642.00 that needs replacement evry 20k kms run. if also in doubt about the batt. MZ3 is using normal / std batt not a special type used on european cars

I'd stop imagining and just enjoy the car, the ride, the handling. Some people need to understand that before the new Mazda3 came out, one had to spend much more just to have handling like this.

If you're concerned too much with maintenance cost of modern vehicles then don't buy a modern car. Buy a 70s Beetle, they're very cheap to maintain. It's not like you change spark plugs monthly, it's not even yearly. Heck, can't remember the last time spark plugs were changed.

Be more concerned with the monthly running cost of the things you own like cellphone bills, fuel costs, etc.
