ace8tan,
i have the same question as gregg_g above.
it was at a kia dealer that i learned about the cheaper fuel filter for the later sorento models.
but if the engines are the same, how come the fuel filter became different?

I'm a 6 footer and in need to 2 inches more legroom. Anyone has an idea how to move the seat 2 more inches backward?
This is my only disappointment with Sorento at the moment. Honda civic has more legroom compared to our Sorentos.
SaberRider,
I am not getting what your implying. Existing Sorento CRDI having no Turbo?
From what I understand sa post niya and am gonna try to explain to you eh may turbo naman ang sorento niya pero di siya VGT turbo. Lahat naman ng Sorento may turbo ang tanong lang is what type of turbo? Yung typical turbo ng CRDi or yung CRDi VGT?
So if you have a non-VGT Sorento and plan to slap in a VGT na parang easy add-on part eh malabo. Kasi iba yung VGT. Not to mention iba malamang ang compression, ecu and other factors. Kung headlight assembly nga lang iniba nila ang mounting para di compatible sa previous version ng Sorento eh what more kung modification pa sa engine that bumps up the hp by more than 30+hp by the use of a VGT?
just my 2 cents.
If the original set up will not suit you then you might have to reposition your seat slides couple of inches back to get additional legroom. The drawback is you will have less legroom for the 2nd row seat behind you. But in my Sorento, it's not a problem since I can slide back the 2nd row seat for more legroom.
Still enjoying my Sorento (even w/o VGT). It drives and rides as if it is fresh out of the showroom.
same here, maranello.
just came from banawe last monday.
on the way, we crossed to pangasinan to drop off a couple of our companions. that highway from san jose, nueva vizcaya to carmen, pangasinan is superb.
my driving was spirited on the way back because of a large number of slow vehicles in front especially tricycles, kuligligs and the busy traffic on the other side going the opposite way.
did not have have the courage to bring the sorie to sagada because i did not have a convoy vehicle with me. good thing i did not as the road was terrible. we hired a jeep overnight from banawe to sagada and back.
Yep, matagal nang may VGT versions sa Australia. Even in Russian controlled territories(yung may words ending in TAN lin Tajikistan.etc..) we use the Sorento VGT more than the Nissan Patrol or the Toyota Prado.
hello Sorento owners, I just like to inquire if you have any problems with your unit. I'm into buy and sell business so I'd like to have inputs on this vehicle.
Someone is selling me her 2006 Sorento crdi for only 730T. At first, I thought that this is a hot vehicle but I verified that the papers are clean. Then I verified the resale value of this vehicle with my colleagues who are also in the same business as well. There, I was surprised about the resale value. I'm just wondering why this vehicle has a very low resale value. I know that it's because of the brand but I find the Sorento good enough to sell even at a higher price. May be there's a problem with the unit?
Hi, it really depends on the seller if what they think is "reasonable" enough for their price. I sold my 06 BMW 3 series for 300k less compared to the other pre-owned owners kaya the people from the 2nd hand cars for sale thought that I was either crazy/stupid or that my BMW had some serious issues. I just said that ayaw ko maging gahaman. Nwei, for peace of mind have a trusty auto mechanic(preferably one you have known for a long time) accompany you and add along a few friends na marunong tumingin ng sasakyan para maging sigurado. Everything you purchase is an investment weather it be a shirt from a thrift shop or a very expensive automobile.
In terms of the brand affecting the resale value. Of course, it will. Tidnan mo nga yung Jazz it falls short on almost everything but looks and yet a pre-owned one is still in the half mil+ mark. Too bad were not in Europe where people aren't that much brand concious.

The stock tires didn't have enough grip on wet roads so we had to replace them with better tires. Size of the new set of tires is 265/70-16, an inch in diameter bigger and half an inch wider than the stock size.[/quote]
to sir go1.
i finally replaced my stock tires (hankook) with pirelli scorpion but decided not to upsize them and maintained the 245/70/16. when we tried the 265/70/16 i noticed that when the mechanic turns the steering wheel, the fender seemed to move. maybe the pirelli are wider than the good year that's why i got different results than yours. thanks anyway for the advice. i'll upload the pics of my sorento sooner.
i must confess that whenever i see sorentos being offered at such a low price that i am inclined to buy one for my wife too. that's how i have enjoyed the sorento so far. however i like the white one. mine is black. if that 2006 sorento is white, low mileage and 4x4 i would grab it without any reservation.
