actually before pa ako nagpunta ng zambales a week before almost low na yung oil. that time 600 km na lang 20k service na so balak ko sa subic ako bibili ng oil at may zic ako nakita dun. kaso imbes na 2 liter ng zic ang nabili e 4 na 1.75L na fundador saka isang kambing. napainom sa mga high school classmates, umupa na nga ako ng driver pauwi sa QC at baka pag ako mag-drive e impyerno bagsakan ko.

Boss yebo, bigla ako kinabahan at napasilip tuloy sa oil level ng Sorento ko. Whew!

Yun nga iniisip ko e, wala naman ako nakikita na oil sa garahe. Wala din naman usok. Unless kulang yung oil na nilagay nila nung 15k pm.

bro yebo, try mo other oil. experinced sa dating ko FM, may engine oil na malakas magbawas, so observe mo na lang kung alin ang hindi ganun ang effect sa sorento mo

Ok so nag cel ulit yung sorento after the 20k km pm. So definitely it is not the oil level ang cause ng cel. I did some research and the best candidate are 2 high temperature sensors before and after the dpf. They may be sensing high temp due to the blocked egr. The error code according to santa fe (but not sorento) 2.2 crdi obd2 codes is 1019 and 1020, high exhaust temp at idle blocked egr. Btw, the cel came on again just a few km after the previous cel was reset.

I arrived last wednesday night, removed the blank plate thursday morning and was at kia congressional by 9am. Kaso sira daw obd2 scanner nila and they refered me to kia tomas morato. E tinatamad ako, i just decided to do a test run muna. I took a left turn to mindanao avenue intending to take the sorento on a short run at nlex. Sa mindanao ave pa lang binirit ko na. E di pa ako nakakaabot sa sauyo road nawala bigla yung cel.

So ayaw nya ng may blank and long idle/slow speeds kaya nag cel? Kasi nung ako gumagamit last month di naman nag cel, nag cel lang nung misis ko na gumagamit.

Use the Sorento for a few more days, kung di na bumalik yung CEL, egr blanking nga yung culprit.

after ng air filter change mo bro, observe mo muna. in 3 sequential driving cycles na walang detected fault, automatic mag off naman yang CEL. update me right away

Update lang, I removed the blanking plate yesterday, then kanina road test ako for about 4kms lang. When I turned off the engine and then restarted nawala na yung Cel, so egr blanking nga talaga ang culprit

OEM yung sensor and the RH stalk switch. Yung KDM meron kasi kaya thought of putting mine as well.... pwede pala. Wiper motor unchanged.

Yung light sensor sa LH stalk switch nakakabit for the HL naman. No connection with Rain sensor.

Very sensitive kahit konti tubig lang nag wipe agad. Yung sensor na rin nag control ng speed ng Wiper.

Di na rin bumalik yung cel ng sorento ko, i clocked 500 kms already since removing the egr blank.

Nakaka-miss lang yung oooomph sa low revs.

mine has over 800km (Baguio roundtrip and NCR Pre-Christmas traffic) and still ok. tmmrw going.bak.again to province another 800km roundtrip. dapat cguro blank plate ilagay before EGR valve itself.

It makes a lot of sense to put the blanking plate BEFORE the EGR. If you put it after the EGR, soot will accumulate on the EGR flap, resulting to a CEL when the solenoid tries to move it but senses that it has a hard time budging.

Putting the blanking plate before the EGR will keep it clean and freely moving.
