Purchased from Seiring for 2005 Sorento, all Mobis:

Engine belt - P1,100
Oil filter P550
Cabin filter P500

Was surprised that non-OEM oil filters can be had for P250, but I decided to stay with the Mobis made.

Not from Seiring, and not OEM, purchased fog lamp bulbs for P350 each.

anyone got an abs alarm warning light continuously on? looks like this >> (ABS)

wife reported that while driving in the rain abs alarm went off and kept on while she was driving. yesterday she tried again but the abs warning light was still on. i'm thinking possibly damaged sensor cable that got wet by the rain. or fuse. or sensor. or abs module. sana naman wiring lang, mahal ang abs module e.

searched the net and found info that the abs sensor can be cleaned but the fix does not last long. how much kaya ang abs sensor?

Ok, my wife brought the sorento to kia timog where they have an obd2 scanner and the diagnostics that goes with it. They found 1 rear wheel abs speed sensor damaged. She will bring it back there tomorrow as they said the repair will take 4 hours. Quoted cost is P9600.
P8335 yung sensor and the rest is labor and consummables. Mahal sensor nila ha, $87 lang sa ebay eh. Anyway what to do, need ni wifey ang car and i don't want her driving in the rain without abs. Kung nasa pinas lang sana ako diy na yan. Ang dali lang naman testingin ang abs speed sensor.

3 years na last july ang sorento namin e. Kia timog said they will check if they can still charge to warranty but i doubt it. Only 32kkm on the odo kaya siguro kahit past 3 years na they will try to charge it to warranty.

btw, di ko na pinapa-PM sa casa since 25kkm pm but kia timog said ok lang basta filled out ang service record by reputable shop. E sa powertorq (shop owned by fellow tsikoteer kiper) ko pinapaservice and they said ok daw dun.

naisugod ni misis last year yung 2012 sorento sa above jeepney wheel height flood sa espana and this is for more than 2 hours. naabutan siya ng flash flood kasi. ang nasira lang yung abs hub sa rear wheel nababad sa tubig kinalawang yung sensor but sa engine and electricals walang damage. walang pumasok na water sa loob ng cabin hindi nabasa ang carpet.

if the old hyundai santa fe gen 2 be a gauge (same engine lang, roof line is higher by 20 mm) naisugod ko above headlights level but only for about 40 meters, may mababang portion dun sa dinaanan kong street. the rest was only knee deep.

I just noticed this morning that the dashboard Airbag light indicator of my late-2013 Sorento goes on and off intermittently. I read that the older Sorento models (2003-2011) also had this problem and quite expensive and difficult to fix. Mine has 45K km in it already. Did anyone of you experienced this?

Hi everyone, i own a 2011 2.2 crdi sorento, I have the following questions:
1. Is our engine using a timing belt or chain? When do u think it needs replacement?
2. Have u had the aircon evaporator cleaned? Or with regular change of aircon filter enough to keep it clean? Thanks, planning planning to stay with it still in the next 2 years pa

Mga Sirs good day. Im not sure kung naitanong na ba itong question ko sa thread na to.
Anyways, nakabili kc ako ng 2nd hand na kia sorento.2009 model automatic xa pero imported yata ito kc TLX ung variant nya..
Nung time na nabili ko xa last november 2015 eh 133K na ung ODO nya.So as a new owner pina change oil/filter ko agad.
Den one time while driving,bigla nlng xa nawalan ng power ung tipong walang response khit tapakan mo ung gaspedal.
So dinala ko sa mechanic. pinachek ko ung injector sa shop ang nakita lng nila sa diagnostic is mass airflow sensor error which na reset nmn.
To make the story short,parang napa semi overhaul ko na ung sasakyang but the problem is still there. Minsan nga during starting palng eh magre rev xa den bigla nlng babagsak rpm den dead engine na.Pero pag restart mo sa engine bigla nlng nagigng ok ulit.Bka may idea lng kayo or nangyari na din sa inyo to mga sirs. Im planning on buying a new mass air flow sensor pro bka ndi un ng problem baka may iba pang sensor..
By the way wala nmn cgurong connection ung pagpapalit ko ng tire diameter from 245 to 260.. I hope may ma suggest kayo kc medyo malaki na nagastos ko sa pagpapagawa ng sasakyan. Thnks sa makakatulong..By the way im from cebu.

Sir Stockengine walang indication/check engine light sa dashboard when it happens. OBD says mass airflow sensor error pero na reset nmn. I mean when I bought the car the odo is at 133k.Now its around 135k. By the way its a disel engine. 2.5 crdi.

Pag bayad mo pa lng, sira na agad? Or did you intentionally buy a defective unit?

Anyways if the maf sensor is the culprit.. cleaning this might help.

Otherwise its an expensive replacment.

Try having your fuel tank cleaned and fuel filter replaced.

I have a 2004 LX Sorento.
It has logged around 85K kms already.
My issue is that there is a squeaking sound underneath. I had it checked in Sprinter and they said to change the front damper already.
Is this diagnosis accurate?
If so, I am thinking of replacing it with a KYB damper instead of a korean part.
Any recommendations or suggestions on my concern from the forum?
