gregg_g, can you please send me a copy of the manual too. One thing nga pala if ever you send your Sorento for an underwash, please check the left and right bottom sidings just right beside where the stepboard is being mounted kasi sa unit ko di sya na anti-rust coat. Although pina rust proofing ko na noon sa dealer ko, pina spray ko na lang ulit ng 3M undercoat sa Caltex para sigurado.

Mine is ok. I am happy with it. I am also happy with the SA at Kia Quirino, very accommodating and would help you out with all your queries. Btw, his name is Josel. If you happen to have friends, relatives or associates who are interested in any kia products, please refer them to Josel at Kia Quirino.

Does anyone know where I could buy a cheaper OEM stepboard? Most dealers are quoting Php18k.

I think Jearnpierre and gregg_g did mention in this thread that it could be bought at Php9k???

    Hi Pidyong,

Got my stepboard from CFG an autospecialist store here in Ayala, Cebu. Yep, they have an array accessories for Sorento. Casa's usually place a hefty markup on these accessories, so you end up paying more.

Btw, noticed that you also have picanto, is that your wifey's? Hehe, got one too for my wifey, although I use it sometimes..

    Akoyon,

Sent you the manual, please acknowledge receipt..

    Gregg

    Hi Everyone,

Are you using the the ceiling mounted sun/eye glasses holder? Me, I am using it, but had some burning incident, when I tried wearing my sunglasses which was placed in the ceiling holder, during mid day. The glasses where so damn hot...

    hello everybody

just to report my latest 20T kilometer check on our sorento.
the bill is 9.7t pesos - the biggest so far that we've spent for the sorento on its regular checks. parang binawi yung maliit na mga billing dati.

there's no breakdown in the service invoice but before i agreed to the check, they showed me a list of things they would replace in the car:

fuel filter which they said was about 4.7T pesos
    air filter
    oil
    oil filter
    differential fluid

they also had the audiovox stereo pulled out because it ate one of our CDs.

after 5 days now, they said it was going to be replaced with a new one.

mukhang sirain itong mga audiovox products. first, it was the alarm (but perhaps this first case was just because of wrong installation/configuration) and now the stereo.

yes sir, that's what the service folder that they showed me says (or at least, that's what i remember it said).
but i really dont know whether they indeed replaced it or not.
i did check the underside of the sorento and saw that the differential nut and surrounding area has been wiped , but of course, that's not a guarantee.
    ayoko namang buksan na.

Pmed you my e-mail address gregg_g. My Sorento? Still fast and trouble-free pa rin. Done over 20K na rin without any issue. Did 2 round trips sa panay island last time via ro-ro, first before christmas and then after the new year. It's always a great experience driving the Sorento on such a long and free road dahil walang huli. Kaya lang nasabak sa maraming area na parang game ng sungka ang daan ...hehehe

Never experienced that with my unit inspite of having a sunroof close to that area where the sun glasses holder is installed.

Also had my 20T km check-up done at Kia Batangas last January 27, the bill reached P10thou kasi nag-top up ng gear oil. The fuel filter costed P4,200 Bosch part no. 1-457-434-310 / Kia part no. 3197-3E000).

Speaking of the fuel filter, It looks like any other diesel fuel filter to me. Anyone knows an alternative that's cheaper and yet di ma-trigger yung problem about dirty fuel filter. Kung wala, wishful thinking lang po, mabigat din yung P10thou every 20thou kms. If I were to use my Sorento as everyday car to office, I would do it at least twice a year.

    Thanks.

Hi CRG203! Sana you kept the old filter para may sample when looking for a much cheaper replacement if you have the time. Bosch kasi kaya mahal at medyo mahirap hanapan ng replacement coming from the other brands. In the first place, di natin alam ang filtering properties ng Bosch brand and if ever magkaroon man ng kapareho, tanong eh will it fit sa filter mounting.

    Hi Jeanpierre,

I didn't keep mine, wished that I did. Btw, the email that I sent you bounced back, it says your email account - yahoo- cannot be delivered... Just give me another one...

    OT,

I had a debate with a friend regarding our driver's license, he said that when driving an automatic vehicle you have to have the restriction code 4, but on my end I'd say that 2 is enough because it says vehicles which refer to all, and my understanding is, it takes more skill to drive a manual than an automatic. Which of us is correct?

Hi jeanpierre! I have the filter with me keeping it for keepsake kasi original or first filter sya ng Sorento ko. I took a picture of it sa camera phone ko. If anyone is interested, I can upload the picture for this thread. Btw, I also have a Gen I Sportage and the filter looks similar (maybe slightly longer). It is a Hyundai filter which is a lot cheaper but unless anyone can confirm, this is just a guess. Wouldn't want to touch the sportage fuel filter at this time as it is my daily driver. Sadly, pang coding lang Sorento.

This is a cash cow [because most cops don't know how to speak proper english].

Restriction 2 allows you to drive manual, automatic, semi-automatic, etc. transmissions including those Ferrari paddle shifts. Restriction 4 restricts you only to drive automatic transmission vehicles (even if there is a supposed 'manual', sportronic, shiftronic, whatevertronic) on that particular transmission.

My license is for vehicles 4,500kgs up. That means, I can't drive my Pajero? hahaha.
