aren't you the one who has driven his sorento through a lot of rough terrain already? if so, after those rides, did your car develop squeaks and rattles?

i'm asking because i plan to drive to sagada this summer and i want to know what to expect after the long rough ride.

Yeah, I've driven my Sorento through a lot of rough terrain already and most of it loaded pa Sorento ko since di ako umuuwi ng province na walang cargo o di ko kasama family ko. Pabalik ng manila is even worse kasi kung anu anong fruits at kakanin pinapadala ng parents at in-laws ko. Wala naman akong na observe na squeak and rattles after those trips. Pero lately, I'm hearing some rattling sound and traced it on my right stepboard mounting. Advise ko lang if you'll be traveling in rough roads/terrain, reduce your tire air pressure between 28 to 30 psi para di matagtag and more traction since ang tire natin di design sa rough roads. Kailan ba balak mo, baka sa pinas ako at kung pwede maki convoy sa inyo since di pa rin ako nakapunta ng Sagada.

have no squeaks yet with my sorento, except with the stepboards, but what I did was loosened the bolts then applied wd-40 then tightened it again....

either end of april or 1st half of may pa kame akyat sagada.
balak ko 4day3night tour lang covering one weekend.
the convoy idea sounds great kaya lang baka mainip ka sa amin. maya't maya kasi humihinto kame on the road for just any reason.
saka medyo mabagal din ako magdrive.

Sorento ko FC city driving is 8.4 minsan 8.6 km/l. Highway FC lately is 13.2 km/l. Syempre depende din driving style yan. Kung sa acceleration lang, di pahuhuli ang Sorento maski sa 3.0 displacement na mga latest diesel engine. Matagtag naman depende sa tire pressure mo yan, infact para sa akin mas mayos pa ride ng Sorento kesa Fortuner. Yan din comment ng friend ko who owns a fortuner ng test drive nya ride ko.

among the 3, ibang league ang sorento.

the sportage and tucson are the direct competitors in the mini-SUV bracket.

mas malaki ang sorento inside out compared to the two. and it's more offroader among the 3. of course, mas mahal din sya because of these, among many other advantages.

baka matagtag dahil mataas yung tire pressure ng test unit na pinadrive sa inyo.

as for fuel consumption, i'm doing between 8-10 kms/liter city/hiway.

P1.45m on the kia website and only 4x4 A/T available on the pricelist.

I was at the dealer 2 days ago.

Yep, Php1.450 is the unit price. Only variant available is EX CRDi with 5speed A/T. No more LX, LX ltd and other lower trim levels.

Interior color is beige or gray depending on exterior color.

Free LTO and insurance until end of March.

hmm, medyo mataas na pala ang Sorento, at 1.45M, 50k na lang, may SantaFe ka na, CRDI VGT pa yun.

diba mga 1.2M lang ito dati? Bakit kaya tumaas masyado?

The Sorento is still a rugged truck. I remember the Sta. Fe driving over an obstacle at the car show. It's those type of road hazards you wouldn't even give a thought if you were driving a real truck. But the Sta. Fe dragged its belly on it and made some uncomfortable sounds.

I'd still prolly get a Sorrie over a Sta. Fe. But that's just me. For road use, the Sta. Fe easily trumps the Sorento.

HI Jeanpierrre,

I dropped by at CFG today, the one where I bought my Sorento OEM stepboard. I inquired about the possiblity of replacing my headlights with the 2007, and they said that the bracket/mounting is different. Ayaayayay! If you asked me it doesn't look different on the outside, well, anyway, will be dropping by at Kia today, to really ask it from.

At Kia, we checked out and even measured, actually it looks the same, but got different answers from 2 make it 3 SA's. Well, still not getting straight answers, but actually during the measurement, there seems to be different measurements from my ride (2005) and the 2007... Any will still be checking it out... Keep you posted...

gregg_g, thanks for the info. Kung bracket lang kasi magagawan ng paraan yan pinoy pa. Problema kung di mag fit sa slot ng headlight natin. Ganda kasi tapos pa HID ang low, high at fog lamps. Liwanag siguro non ano?

oldblue, mga Sorento enthusiast yan sa germany. I saw one picture na madami sila nag off-roading. I just can't believe na girl ang owner ng nice looking na Sorento...hehehe
