jeanpierre, apologies, i can't recall the name of the shop. it's just one of those cellphone stalls at Robinson's.

btw, since you are in singapore already, you may one to visit one of the car accessories shops near the malaysian border that sell backing camera with lcd rearview mirror cum monitor (pwede rin for DVD/tv). it costs less than S$400. sayang nga, hindi ko nabili.

    hi gregg_g

1K is not the price, but part of the ATF's complete name. Here's the complete lube specs for the Sorento gas V6.

    Lubricant Classification
API Service SJ, SL or above,
    ILSAC GF-3 or above
Automatic transmission fluid APOLLOIL ATF RED-1K
4WD transfer case fluid DEXRON III (fill-for-life)
Front differential fluid API Service GL-5 (SAE 90)
Rear differential Without LSD API Service GL-5 (SAE 90)
fluid With LSD API Service GL-5 (SAE 85W-90, INFILREX 33)
    Power steering fluid PSF-III
    Brake fluid FMVSS116 DOT-3 or DOT-4

It's okay led3belt, I'll search for it pag napasyal ng Robinson. As for the backing camera, it's a good price I believe. I'll check it out when I'm in singapore again next month.

If we can only get oil data/specs of this, we might be able to get a much cheaper alternative oil for this APOLLOIL. I've noticed the new oil we are using for our equipment trans is ATF RED too but it's by AGIP.

    Hey Jeanpierre,

May I ask where you got this info that Apolloil ATF Red is produced from AGIP? Thanks..

gregg_g APOLLOIL ATF is not produced by AGIP. I'm referring to the current ATF RED oil that my company is using for most of our equipment trans which is also red in color and produced by AGIP.

Done over 25K already without any problems.

    hi guys!

Finally bought the black sorento last June 28. Wasn't able to post na dahil busy maintaing it..halos every week I put wax para mawala yong "gaspang" ng factory paint. A friend of mine suggested to wax it weekly until maubos yong supply ng wax ko. After that, you can just wax it once a month. At least daw, protected na sya from the heavy waxing.

So far almost 1k na odometer reading nya. First few days driving it feels like its just free-wheeling all the time. But when I went for a 1-1/2hr. out-of-town trip, pagbalik ko nawala konti yong free-wheeling feel niya. Is it because of the "learning transmission"?

Anyway, some gripes after I took it home:

    1) Odometer cable was unplugged. Noticed this when I was on my way home from the casa. Don't know how much km was used already. Probably used as a demo unit.
    2) There were some annoying refraction waves sa windshield when the light reflects on it. Although inside, no problems with the vision naman.
    3) The unit was already tinted. Dark sa likod, medium sa front and 1/4 sa windshield. My dealer agreed naman to have it replaced to my liking.
    4) Lately, whenever I start the engine idling in the morning while warming-up, white smoke comes out of the exhaust. It continues to do so kahit after 5-10mins of idling. It somehow clears away na when I drive to the city. Is this normal? Also, is the exhaust really always that stingy to the eyes & nose?
    5) I prefer the old rims they used than the new one. Like to upgrade to an 18" kaso medyo mabigat pa sa bulsa.
    6) The headunit doesn't support wma files!!! My music collection are 90% wma. Troublesome for me to always convert them to mp3s. Also, kala ko DVD player na sya, at least you can hold so much files in one DVD than a CD. I guess either upgrade my stereo or just buy an ipod or creative zen.
    7) Ang hirap e-maintain ng black...sobra. You really can't have a scratch/dent/dust-free black car here in the Philippines.

    My praises:

    1) Powerful engine. Had a friend ride with me and he didn't expect to get whiplashed often when I press the gas pedal. Just a slight press..zooooooom! hehe
    2) Maneuvers like a big sedan not like some SUVs out there that feels like a ten-wheeler truck. Very agile for its size.
    3) Nice transmision. One of the best automatic transmission I have encountered. Plus the triptronic manual option, love it!
    4) Big roomy interior, front & rear seats are very comfortable. Nice clean details inside. Cool aircon. Feels solidly built with a hard "thud" on the doors.
    5) Give stares everywhere I go, especially girls. Even owners/drivers from the competition (fortuner, eversest, murano, etc...). Can't wait to dress-up this baby. :naughty2:

Thanks guys for the informative thread here. Helped a lot in my decision. Overall am very satisfied and pleased with it. Hope to have a trouble-free 3 years with it until the warranty expires.

foxyyy, Congrats on your new ride. I'm sure that you won't be dissappointed with the Sorento. Sure they'll give your ride a stare since there's not much of it on the road...hehehe.
Transmission, if it's 2007 Model sure it has an adaptive type transmission. It learns/adapt to your driving style.
The white smoke when you start it in the morning is normal I believe because my unit does it too and so as gregg_g's.
I have a 2-tone color, ebony black/pewter combination and it's really difficult to maintain. As what gregg_g said, it really needs TLC

That's how most laminated windshields are nowadays. Maybe you just noticed it because of the vehicle's newness.

The DVD player is optional. I think it's by Audiovox. An upgraded Jensen sound system is also optional (dealer installed).

    Happy trucking!

Did anyone of you guys upgraded your Sorento tires to 265/70/16? Did it fit without any problems? I think this tire size will improve the handling and looks of our Sorento compared to the stock tire set up. kaya lang maybe the FC will increase too.

    Hi guys!

I am currently here in Manila for the Food Expo. Any specific stores I should visit for Sorento accessories? Mas mabuti siguro yong one-stop shop lang where they sell a lot of items for the sorento. Thanks!
