which one is bouncy (sorento or fortuner)? But just like what jrln said, if you are after for a car like suspension feel then this one (sorento) is not definitely for you, this is not a car but a truck, a mighty but nimble truck !Originally Posted by slyfox

I think same unit displayed sa Autoshow. A-toy ang supplier ng body kit for the Sorento and the it cost around 65K pero sabi may discount pa.Originally Posted by finchy18

It's a reliable SUV at wala pang reported problems or issue since it was sold sa pinas. Mine logged 12,800kms na without any problems or whatsoever.Originally Posted by slyfox
it's really better if you test drive both. baka kasi pareho lang ang bounciness nila both being trucks or worse baka mas bouncy pala ang sorento. mahirap mag-judge without trying both.Originally Posted by slyfox
Just buried my father-in-law yesterday. Despite the sadness of his death, my trustee sorento managed to haul 11 people (incl me-driver, 1 adult + 2 kids in the 3rd row seat, 5 in the 2nd row and 2 in the passenger front seat) all the way to the cemetery about 9 kilometers going through a combination of rough and pave roads.
My mother-in-law was with us, although she was grieving but she felt comfort inside the SORENTO.
Keep on Truckin with your Sorento !

Frankly, this is my first diesel powered ride pero di ko masyadong na feel yong paninibago from driving a gas to a diesel car. Maski wife ko nga enjoy driving the Sorento at natoto na ring humatawSa civic namin, gusto nya laging pasahero lang sya unless kung out of the country na ako.
my condolences to you and your family, gregg_g.Originally Posted by gregg_g
i agree with jeanpierre, hindi nakakapanibago magdrive ng sorento if you are coming from a gas-fed vehicle kasi di naman maingay ang makina ng sorento. plus the fact that even if it's a bit bouncy, hindi matigas ang bagsak.
condolence gregg.
Have driven both the sorento and the fortuner and IMHO the sorentos' ride is way better than the fortuner. and can be further improved by changing the suspension components to OME.
Guys, did you observe this sa ride nyo na pag nag on na ang fuel tank level indicator ay parang nag shi shift sa economy mode ang ECU? Two times na nagyari ito sa aking at ibang iba ang behavoir ng engine pag nag on na ang fuel level indicator kesa wala.
How do u know its econo mode? Change of idling? What's the behavior of the engine?

Warning Chimes? Yes experienced that also when doors ajar and handbrakes too. But the low fuel indicator/economode, not yet...
that's nice to hear.Originally Posted by ARB

Hi Jrln,
Just a request, can u try to check if your sorento has an evaporator filter?
Thanks..
is this the one where you need to remove the glove box to reach it?Originally Posted by gregg_g
if so, i'll try.
why, what's your concern about it?
question din: i was trying to look for the radiator cap last weekend but could'nt find it. there's a plastic shroud covering the entire radiator and even if i peep in from the engine side, i can't seem to figure out a bulge in the cover that would give way to a cap. what i saw was the coolant reservoir cover near the cabin wall.
Hi Jrln,
Regarding the evaporator filter, just asking if the local unit has it because in some parts like in the US they don't have. Jeanpierre's ride has it, because both of our units are imported.
Regarding the radiator cap, our ride doesn't have any, in fact its only inthe reservoir that we have access to the adding coolant.
Actually this is ideal (no radiator cap) since correct practice when adding coolant/water is through the reservoir.
