hi guys, mahal ba ang PMS sa kia? I heard from a picanto owner friend na namamahalan sha sa PMS ng KIA. Please post sample computation for 10K PMS and 15K PMS.

Nang nag pa 10K service last time, spent 5800 pesos dahil specified ko na synthetic oil gamitin. Yong isa naman na nagpa 5K service (jrln) spent 3351 pesos. Picanto should be mas mura kasi sa Sorento oil pa lang ( 8 liters ) gastos na.

Tanong ko lang sa mga nakagamit na ng tiptronic type na transmission gaya ng sa Sorento. Let's say you're cruising at a certain speed using the auto tranny, is it okay to shift to the tiptronic mode? Di ba nakakasira ng trans ito? Is it going to downshift when you shift from auto to tiptronic or it will stay at the same gear? TIA

I did it a couple of times already. When u shift to tiptronic, it will give the current gear of your cruising speed. It's practically safe. I usually do it, when I am feeling the rush, or the need for speed and control...

Thanks gregg_g! Hirap na kasi mag experiment baka mag ka problema eh. Pag gusto ko gamitin ang tiptronic, ginagawa ko mag shift pag naka stop ako... At least ngayon confident na ako to use both transmission.

Anong RPM ka ba nag upshift at RPM nagdo downshift?

for upshift, once it reaches mga 2k or a little bit more, but for downshift... I just observe the engine's idling....

Hi sorentotlx! Yong 2din stereo mo ba with remote steering controls and with integrated handsfree function? Sayang naman all these optional lux functions. But if you really want to change it, I think better check with your dealer first or with KIA Quezon ave baka may alam sila supplier and to avoid voiding your electrical warranty. If wala talaga, okay naman crutchfield. You can buy it and let your dealer install it para safe.

same as gregg's response, the tiptronic will adapt to whatever gear you are when you shifted from auto mode. di ko lang alam kung may limit sa max speed for doing this, let's say you're on 160kph already tapos magma-manual kang bigla.

btw, guys, do you trust the korean tires on our rides? as in, can we go over 160kph and still be confident that these tires will hold? diba may bad reputation ang mga korean tires on high speeds? ty for any response on this from anybody.

Couple of guys I have talked to during the Fun Run managed to run their Sorentos up to 180kph/hr with stock tires on. Myself tried couple of times 170kph with my stock Khumo tires with no problems at all.

thanks for the quick reply, jeanpierre! altho, i dont think i will try it. at that speed, a minor mistake in a wink of an eye could be disastrous.

one more thing, does your sorento come with a turbo timer? mine does'nt. nakakainip kasi maghintay for the turbo to cool down.

Even my unit does not have a a turbo timer too.It's a good gadget and not expesive to install. But for me, I don't need it since it's been my habit to slow down pag malapit na ako sa bahay or sa parking and shut off my airconditioning while waiting for my parking gates to open so the system starts to cool down. All you need is just a minute or 2 to cool down your engine. Best din if you can use synthetic oil on your engine cause it can withstand higher temp especially that in the turbo so won't be "cooked-up".
