i was actually looking for what exactly the ECO mode does but couldn't find any info from the Picanto manual. i read somewhere in tsikot that ECO mode (for other cars) regulates fuel consumption depending on traffic conditions / behavior. when it's "on" it can decide to give you lesser fuel making you step on the gas pedal more.

With the mode "off", the car gives you the gas you need depending on how you step on the gas. this gives the car more response. i'll try to find the forum reply regarding ECO mode and post it here as well.

yes, the shift indicator turned itself off when i turned ECO mode off. not a bad thing really coz i assume that people who drive m/t actually know when to properly shift up and down.

at any case, the better response may or may not be a placebo effect of learning what turning the ECO mode off does. but, for me, throttle response improved. maybe you can observe as well? masmaganda kung marami tayong may inputs. one more thing i noticed is masmalakas humatak yung kotse kung patay ang aircon hehe (alam na nating lahat yun lol).




Mak, dunno yet sir. for the 2012 possibly wala pa, for the older models di ko rin alam kasi ngayon lang ako nakapag-KIA. if there are parts that are directly swappable from the older models, then i think this is good news

i also own a hyundai 1997 coupe and i've always found parts for it in either Goodgear in Pasay or Fronte in Banawe. malamang meron ding KIA parts dun. maybe you can call and find out.

Hive, I have turned off ECO mode since yesterday after ko mabasa post mo but I will test it out tonight.

Mak, nagtanong tanong ako last month kung may parts na bagong picanto pero so far wala pa daw. I dunno kung meron na ngayon... I really want to replace my HL and brake lights tulad ng kay hivemind. Naghahanap din ako nung OEM side skirts pero bigo ako hanggang ngayon.

may mga nakita na akong HL and tail lights na binebenta sa Ebay. import nga lang galing US.. may mga bodykit din from thailand, ang ganda! try ko post dito yung links / pix na na-kolekta ko hehe.

Nice to know that we are looking at the same pictures. Nakita ko na din ung mga parts thru ebay, superichmotors, HI motors etc pero gusto ko malaman kung cheaper benta ng casa. Since January pa ako nag tatanong sa kanila pero wala pang feedback. Nag pa quote nko sa superichmotos sa mga parts na gusto ko pero the total e pang DP na ng Ford Fiesta or Honda Jazz.

Hi everyone...just bought a 1.2 picanto 2 weeks ago. Everything is good with the car. Medyo mataas Lang fuel consumption ko. Mixed city and highway ang average is 12.5 km per ltr. May 700 km na logged sa odo ng car. Natry ko na Sita NLEX last week. Maganda consumption, between 4-5 ltrs per 100 km. kaya pag city usually 8 ltrs per km. Ganon kaya talaga consumption? Nga yon Im trying to check Kung Eco mode will make any difference. Medyo disappointed Lang ako kasi Yung avanza ko na 1.5 kaya 10km per liter sa city driving. It appears that the picanto can only squeeze few 1-2 Kms to the liter compared to my avanza.

But, aside from fuel consumption, the car really performs well. Madaming little features that it offers like drl, auto light, Bluetooth, consumption meter, etc.

Post ko later some feedbacks that I can observe with the car.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.. one more 1.2 Picanto owner in the boards hehe. sir, backread kayo ng konti. anjan lahat ng feedback ko regarding my unit. FC will improve as it reaches 1500 KM.

my average FC is around 15 - 16KM per liter through my normal route of Bicutan - C5 - Eastwood and back. driving time is noon time and around 130 or 2AM in the morning. this is driving with ECO mode on.

i'll post some tips kung paano ako nagtitipid sa gas. right now, i'm monitoring my FC with ECO mode off. i'll post an update maybe 2 weeks from now
