Totoo po ba na hindi ma-void ang warranty pag nagpalit ng mags? Sabi kasi ng kinuhanan ko sa kia greenhills void daw po pag nagpalit kahit mags.
sabi sa akin ni James Nery, sales agent ng Kia Pasong Tamo, hindi daw mavo-void ang warranty.. i suggest you confirm with other sales agents too. di pa ako nagpapalit ng mags but i also plan to in the near future..
Hivemind, I hope you don't mind me asking, why are you contemplating on changing the mag wheels? The ones included in the 1.2 MT package is a 15" black and silver (specialized) kia mags, almost similar with the Rio HB's wheels.
Unless you plan on slapping on higher performance ones....just curious.

anyway, changing the mag wheels.. i'm just doing it for aesthetics and a little bit more stability. like i said in my earlier post, nasanay siguro ako sa hyundai tib ko.. i'll go for 16s, a step up from the stock 15s. i also plan on lowering the car and getting a stab bar for it. probably ultra racing if there's on available. of course, this is for when after i'm able to save up lol
btw, a little bit more feedback for the picanto. on the negative side naman.. the car does not have a stock digital clock. the car also doesn't have stock temp gauge. i was looking for the temp gauge today and couldn't find it. i'll have to read my manual later on to see what's up. the 2 features i just described seems to be so basic and yet is absent in the car.
the clock problem is solved by setting the headunit clock though..
Hivemind, I think meron digital clock just below the trip counter. I am not sure kung magkaiba ang configuration ng gauges ng 1.0L MT sa 1.2L. Pansin ko rin na walang temp gauge... Regarding sa changing the mag wheels, ang sabi sa aking ng 2 different SA ay ma vovoid daw warranty ng pang-ilalim ng sasakyan. They suggested to purchase from them which is mahal or keep the stock wheels and rims. Ikabit na lang daw bago mag pa PMS. HTH

gherule, wala talaga eh.. either that or iba ang 1.0 cluster sa 1.2 cluster. merong parang "clock" sa cluster ko pero it's just an "hours elapsed" time counter (maximum hours count niya is 99:99). patay din yung counter kung patay ang kotse. di siya pwede gawing clock lol
other feedback, nakukuha ko na ang steady na 5.9L/100KM according to the on board computer (bicutan - C5). sana bumaba pa lalo ang FC habang tumatagal ang pag-maneho. baka dalhin ko siya sa tagaytay this weekend to see its performance in climbing up roads.. balitaan ko kayo.

lahat ng papalitan mo sa sasakyan mo, sasabihin ng CASA ma-vovoid ang warranty. a simple horn upgrade voids the warranty for that specific part.
ang alam ko if ever you touch something suspension/wheel relate, void ang suspension warranty.
tapos kapag nag-upgrade ka ng HU, void ang electrical warranty.
ganun talaga ang CASA. lahat ng pwede i-void gagawin nila. kung gusto mo magpalit ng mags, meron naman way para hinde ka nila mavovoid:
-- don't sell your OEM wheels, kapag PMS mo na, isalpak mo nalang ulit. lusot ka. there's no way for them to tell naman kung nagpalit ka ng mags, eh.

anyway, more feedback. di ko nadala ang pincanto sa tagaytay. sa los banos kami napadpad kasi biglang namatay ang tita ng mom ko. bumisita na lang kami sa burol. naging opportunity din naman ito para first long drive ng picanto.
passengers were my fat mom and dad plus my younger brother sitting up front. the ride felt better and more stable with more people riding the car. parang mas-"safe" and "solid" kesa kung ako lang nakasakay. the car also didn't feel sluggish with the added weight, feeling ko na kakayanin pa niya humatak kahit na medyo loaded na siya, i guess i'm feeling the effects of getting the 1.2 m/t variant. i wouldn't know how performance would be kung 1.0 yung kinuha kong variant. not much climbing was done during the trip so i wouldn't know how the car would hold up for trip to Tagaytay with the same cast of passengers riding the car. i'll save that test for later during the month.. btw, parent's feedback regarding the space at the rear passengers compartment is very positive. di naman daw masikip, maganda ang leg room at hindi sumakit likuran nila.
nakapag second full tank na ako, and according to the manual computation of FC, my computations gave me around 15KM / L after re-fueling sa SLEX coming back from Los Banos. note na hindi same station / pump na gamit ko dahil asa eastwood yung shell station na parati kong dinadaanan from work.
Fuel consumption dropped to an all-time low since i got the car during the los banos trip. the lowest i reached was around 5.0L/100KM for a verrrrrry short time while nearing the Bicutan exit from SLEX. average low i got was around 5.6 running Los Banos to SLEX. now that the Picanto has streched its legs a bit, the new FC i got from Bicutan to Eastwood today is at 5.7L/100KM average. 5.5L/100KM ang lowest na naabot ko running C5 to pasig. so it's had some improvements in terms of FC since i was averaging 5.9 last week.
overall, i'm very happy with the Picanto's performance and FC. reklamo lang talaga is the puny horn, very poor audio speakers and headunit, the lack of temp gauge and digital clock. other than that mukhang positive naman lahat
i'll post more details as i use the car this week.
medyo tumaas FC ko ngayong May dahil siguro sa init.. instead of the 5.7 or 5.9 average i was getting last April, average ko na is around 6.1 to 6.2. di ko alam kung dahil sa init or driving style.. medyo nagiging aggressive din kasi ako this month dahil sa init ng ulo sa mga nakaka-inis na driver, cut ng cut porket maliit ang kotse ko. kainis.. >__<

Hi Hive! Nakita ko kasi isang post mo about using XCS. I tried it yesterday and I noticed a small improvement. Medyo mas ok sya humatak and FC was better than using unleaded lang considering na super traffic. hehe BTW, 1.0L version picanto ko. I will continue to use XCS for a month just to confirm. I will be having my 1st PMS sa Friday. San kaya maganda mag pa PMS?
not sure where hehe. actually scheduled din ako for my first 1000KM check. tetext ko na lang SA ko for an appointment. baka magkita tayo haha!
as for gas, the best talaga sa aking yung Shell V-Power. i use it in my other car kung gusto ko maglaro ng kaunti at may konting budget pa. either XCS or V-Power lang ginagamit koi haven't tried V-Power in my 1.2 picanto yet..
update lang.. wala palang 1K PMS.. ang unang PMS ng Picanto is 7500KM. medyo matagal-tagal pa to hehe![]()

anyway here's the data. do note na naka air-con ako for all my trips.
highway driving | Los Baņos to Bicutan - average of 5.6L / 100KM. napababa ko ng 5.0L / 100KM pero napakasandali lang. this is according to the on board computer. average speed ko ata nun was around 85 to 90 ata? can't really remember but for sure it didn't go below 80.
semi city driving | bicutan to eastwood via C5 - average of 5.9L or 6.1L / 100KM. again, according to the onboard computer. average speed range is from 60 - 80KPH. pwede pa bumilis pero bwisit ang mga malalaking truck sa C5 tuwing gabi at ang katakot-takot na traffic sa Market Market
manual computation ko via the full tank method is at 15 - 16L per kilometer semi city driving from bicutan to eastwood via C5 ulit. 15 yung average ko nung March / April. ngayong May, nag 16 ako dahil siguro sa init and driving style ko dahil i noticed na medyo naging mabigat paa ko.
gusto ko uli siya i-long drive sa SLEX or NLEX para makita ko talaga ang FC niya on long drives. baka pwede ko rin patayin ercon nun hehe.
sana dumami pa yung new picanto owners para may kakwentuhan ako dito hehe.
Anong features ang meron sa Picanto 1.2 EX na wala sa 1.0 EX AT? Sobrang hindi updated yung site ng Kia eh.

On my 1.2 EX, may certain position ng clutch na naglalock yung brakes. Na discover ko to nung nasa second gear ako then since traffic yung clutch is nakatapak ng half then nung nag break ako ang tigas ng brake parang hindi naka on yung engine but nung nag full clutch ako bigla lang lumambot.
I thought that was just 1 time but kahit ngayon mahanap ko yung spot ng clutch na tumigas yung brake. Normal lang ho ba yun?

jut, di ko rin kabisado pero eto ang napansin ko comparing my car with the 1.0 variant:
a) projector lights
b) LED DRLs (on lang siya tuwing naka-switch ang park light)
c) LED rear lights. ganda ng itsura neto, parang pulang LED strip na buo, hindi yung tuldok-tuldok
d) Type C (or D?) na mag-wheels. yung mukhang flower na girly hehe
e) driver airbag
f) 1.2 liter engine
other than that, wala na akong ibang napansin. i bought the 1.2 M/T mainly because of the bigger engine displacement.
ar6, i've never experienced that in 1.2 yet. dalhin mo na sa Casa kung kakaiba siya. i haven't had any major problems with my uint as of yet. malapit na ako mag140K KM hehe![]()
