I bought my picanto 1.2 by cash basis. Kia fairview gave me a 15t discount plus free lto. Freebies include matting and tint. If you are near the qc area, check out Kia fairview and look for cherry.

we already asked hyundai westgate-alabang. The SA gave us a 10t discount and free LTO. Freebies: matting, tint (SA committed to our request for the darker, one-way 3M tint), seat cover, visor, and plate cover. We put everything on paper and had him sign it with a note saying that all items and discounts mentioned are valid and given away. Will this hold? or should we ask him to write a more formal quote? since sa likod lang price list nila nakalagay.

The offer seems to be a good deal, we only have to see kung madedeliver talaga. Wala pati silang unit ngayon, sabi first week of June pa dadating kaya hindi namin nakita yung loob. sana honest yung agent, di ko pa kasi nakikita name niya dito eh. pero gusto ko siya. how much pala yung insurance na inoffer sa'yo? thanks!

Drove it from the casa to my office, I must say impressed ako sa gaan nya.

quick question lang, hindi ba talaga ganun ka-responsive on low gears? parang may sakal when shifting gears eh. D3 talaga ang gamit on normal driving conditions right?

Most SA naman matandain at di nakakalimot. Pero, if your really want to be sure, puede kayo magrequest ng formal quote.

nakaktuwa naman, ang daming bagong picanto owners dumadami na rin nakikita kong picanto sa daan during my daily drives from bicutan to Eastwood via C5. may nakita din akong picanto dito sa eastwood na naka simple bodykit. ganda ng tindig, kulang na lang is drop para gumanda lalo yung stance. sa C5 naman may nakasabay akong picanto na naka-aftermarket mags na, ganda din! nakaka-engganyo tuloy simulan ang pag-mod. problema lang eh pera haha!

speechbubble, most of the freebies you listed are standard. i got the same except for the plate cover and darker tints. masmagaling ka siguro mag negotiate haha! it was my first time to buy a car so di ko alam if i could ask for more. 10K and free LTO din for 3 years nakuha ko i once dropped the name of my SA here in the forums and slightly got flacked for it. members look down on dropping SA names so it's better to PM people if you want to inquire. and no, i'm not an SA haha!

caloi, di rin responsive ang lower gears ng 1.2 m/t ko. humahatak lang siya when i get to 3rd gear. what i do is try to reach 3rd as fast as possible. i'm not so sure how the a/t variant works so can't comment on D3. iwan mo lang sa "drive" and step on the gas hehe

update ko lang, i've been driving with ECO mode off for almost 2 weeks (?) i think. will refill at the same gas pump maybe this week. i'll report back FC. so far, masmaganda ang FC with ECO off. i am not averaging 5.6L / 100KM according to the onboard computer. the average FC i get with ECO on was from 5.9 to 6.0.

I agree, sobrang dami ng picanto owners. everyday may nakakasalubong ako!

currently at 146kms, onboard trip computers shows 9.7L / 100km.. medyo malakas pa, pero I understand it still needs break in. I also turned off the ECO mode, parang sakal kasi pag naka On.

As for the freebies/discounts. I got 10k cash discount, free Kia Mattings, 3M tint kaso not full sa front.. and 3 years LTO.

Nalito lang pala ako, magkatabi kasi ang D sa D3.

hi all,

small update ulit.. it seems that driving with ECO off improves FC for only a bit. i ended the ECO "off" run at an average of 5.7L per 100KM. i'll observe more since i'm now doing another ECO "off" run with heavy traffic since i first re-filled my tank. i am now at the 6.0L per 100KM mark. i expect this to decrease until i reach my next refill. sana umabot uli ako sa 5.7 by that time.

anyway, some fuel saving tips i've come up with while driving the 1.2 picanto:
a) use the instantaneous FC meter via the on board computer. i used to drive using the Average FC meter and was pretty much frustrated by seeing it go up every time i tried to save on gas. i got curious and switched to the instantaneous or Real Time FC meter. this gave me a better idea if i was pushing the throttle too hard or not. granted i was more distracted than usual (tingin kasi ng tingin sa metro kada tapak sa gas haha), it's helped me control my FC better.

b) this may not work or sound counter-intuitive but i noticed that if going uphill, i would save more fuel by getting to the top faster by gunning it. does this make sense? again, i have no professional driving / mechanical / scientific credentials and all i do is observe how the picanto responds. if i encounter a medium steep incline, i immediately down-shift and gun it (not to the extreme but just enough to get to the top and hit the plateau faster). again, this may be normal practice but it's my first time to observe these things.

c) coast to a stop / coast downhill IN GEAR! never coast on idle, it's dangerous! this point is obvious but hehe.

that's all i have for now. most of the more common fuel saving tips should be familiar to the other drivers already. this is all i have for the picanto

cal0i, i'm planning to have my rims changed soon. kulang lang sa funds haha! nagbabayad ng monthly eh, hirap din mag-ipon :P anyway, eto specs natin: PCD 4 x 100, offset 35 to 45. plano ko mag-lagay ng 16" wheels. i'm currently on 15's as stock and naliliitan ako eh. what's the meaning of ECO mode? meron din ba yan ang mga old models like 2008-2010? might buy 2nd picanto na 2008-2010 model

"ECO MODE" for fuel economy... sana pero parang mas malakas kapag ginamit sa stop and go traffic ng Mtro Manila. Maybe effective sa light traffic or hi-way run.

I own a 2010 picanto, I also experienced this before, dalawang klaseng sound pwede mo marinig. Hissing and whistling sound. Kapag hissing sound naririnig mo, your brake pads might need replacement na. Kasi kumakaskas na siya dun sa bakal sa disc brake. For whistling sound, what I know is madumi ung brake pad. Mas maganda ipa-check mo na rin sa casa sir para sigurado. Nagtataka nga ako kasi ang bilis napudpod ng brake pads ko dahil 2 years pa lang siya. I am thinking that this happens because of my rims. naka-17s kasi ako. If you need to change the brake pads na, mura lang siya. I bought mine for PHP750.00 lang per pair. Bendix ung brand niya, and I think it's made from Germany.

sana mag improve pa ito.. kahit lagpas 10km/l

Mine is almost 800kms. My FC is about 5-6km/L sa city driving then 12-13km/L sa highway.

That's also what my SA told me. She said that the warranty includes the shocks and changing the mags to a different size may affect the the shocks thus voiding the warranty.
